Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV) 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Sometimes we tend to overcomplicate things, especially when it comes to the things of God.
What’s worse is that we seem to do this to an even larger degree when it comes to our personal walk with Him.
We over-spiritualize. We overthink. We try so hard to put all of the pieces together. And it is seemingly a daunting task that boggles our minds.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. God isn’t as complicated as we make Him. Our relationship with Him isn’t hard. We just make it that way.
How do we break through the aura that’s been so mystically attached to all of this? How do we simplify our relationship with God and get past the mysterious nature that we perceive is there?
We use the tool that God has provided us with; His word.
God’s word is there for us every minute of the day, to shine light into dark places, illuminate our path, teach us how to love the unlovable, heal our broken heart, deliver us from evil, bring life where there is death, strengthen our weak spirits, and so very much more.
Best of all, His word teaches us how to love Him!
As we spend time in His word, we learn more and more about our Father, our Creator. We learn of His mercy, His grace, His compassion and His love for us.
And as we get to know Him more, we can’t help but fall more and more in love with Him.
