Ephesians 4:25 (NKJV) 25 Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.
The time comes when we may have to speak up and share the truth with someone that we never thought we would.
One day I was casually talking with an acquaintance.
As I was listening to them talk, they made a comment about where “we all” came from, and began talking about “our ancestors”, the apes.
Now, I usually am not the person to speak up quickly. I’m more of a hear-them-out type of person. But, when I was included in the, “we all”, I could not stay quiet.
So, in a non-threatening way, I claimed my belief and told her that is not where I came from. And by doing so, there was a clear understanding that I did not agree with her.
I really feel like sometimes as believers we can hold out on speaking the truth for fear of causing conflict or problems.
However, when we need to speak truth, we cannot worry or fret over these things that may happen. We just need to say it in love and move on.
Maybe things will be a little uncomfortable moving forward for us, but I’d rather share the truth than to not share it and then wish later that I had.
Ephesians 4:15 (NKJV) 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—
The next time someone is speaking what we know to be a lie, we want to encourage you, it’s OK, as the Holy Spirit guides your lips, let truth flow and be made known.
