Bible Verse of The Day – 11-3-21

Psalm 27:14 (NKJV) 14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Wait!

That’s a word most of us learned to dislike as children. Kids don’t like to wait for anything. That’s quite apparent in the loud screams, cries and temper tantrums displayed by a child who has been told by their parents, “no, not now”.

You know; kicking, screaming, yelling at the top of their lungs in front of everyone in an effort to try to get their way and not have to wait. We’ve all seen it!

But you see, God wants us to wait on Him. Not because He’s cynical or has bad intentions. And not even to watch us throw a tantrum (even though some of us may do that at times). But because He knows us better than we know ourselves. And He knows what’s best for us, even when we might think otherwise.

Sometimes we have no choice but to wait. Some things are just out of our control. It’s not about whether we wait. It’s about how we wait.

In the verse above, the word used for “wait” indicates waiting with patient excitement and anticipation; trusting God in faith, not with doubts and a long face or a temper tantrum.

And what else does it say? Be of good courage (brave)!

And if we do that, He will strengthen our heart, giving us the fortitude (bravery, courage) that we may lack naturally. But the bravery He gives us will be supernatural. Not weak or wimpy or feigned.

Join me in waiting on God with expectant and patient faith, courage and bravery, as He sets in motion the very things that orchestrate the paths of our lives.
