Bible Verse of The Day – 1-19-22

Isaiah 52:11 (NKJV) 11 Depart! Depart! Go out from there, Touch no unclean thing; Go out from the midst of her, Be clean, You who bear the vessels of the Lord.

These words were originally spoken to the Israelites who had been exiled from their homeland.

As they prepared to enter back into the land where they had been exiled from, they were warned to get out, not to touch the unclean things of the land where they had been dwelling, and not to carry anything unholy back to their homeland.

The fact that these words were originally spoken through an Old Testament prophet to the people of Israel does not negate their relevance to us today.

As believers, it’s important that we heed the Holy Spirit if He warns us of things or places that are dangerous to us.

Sometimes He will caution us to beware. Other times, He will tell us very directly to “get out”.

Getting out can refer to many things; a place or situation that causes us to be tempted, a job, a relationship, or even a place where we live.

No matter which category it happens to fall into, we need to be diligent to pay attention and follow God’s leading.

This won’t always be easy.

Sometimes it will be downright difficult. Sometimes it may even require that we be figuratively dragged, kicking and screaming, from the place or the situation that endangers us.

No matter the situation, our willingness to obey is critical to our spiritual wellbeing and our long-term relationship with our Father.

So, if you feel like you’re being told to “get out and touch no unclean thing”, be sure to listen and obey!
