Bible Verse of The Day – 3-31-25

Mark 16:15 (LSB) 15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

It is a well-known fact that Jesus commanded the church, all His followers, to go into the world and preach the gospel.

Despite the large number of various denominations, this command is well-recognized and followed across each of them in one way or another.

But I’d like to challenge each believer to consider this command on a personal level today and look beyond the corporate church aspects of it.

Let’s get personal about it.

Jesus gave His life for the bride; those who put their faith and trust in him, personally. He died for you, and He died for me, not just for a mass, lump sum of humans.

And our faith in Him is very personal, unique and a one-on-one relationship that needs nurturing and requires effort, just as any worthwhile relationship does.

Knowing that, let us consider the command above on a personal level; what it means for each of us.

With that being established, we must consider this one question: Are we telling people about Jesus or are we showing them Jesus?

It is important that we recognize the difference and consider the implications of this.

Telling people about Jesus is easy. We utter some words and go on our merry way, never considering anything other than the words we spoke.

Showing them Jesus is a whole other proposition. We must do more than give words and a mini sermon. We are required to demonstrate Jesus to them with our lives.

This requires something that simply speaking words is void of; discipleship of the highest form.

Showing them who Jesus is through our daily actions proves to people that we are fully committed to the very thing we speak about and are sharing with them.

In fact, living out our faith will often portray Jesus to others without us having to speak a single word; His love and compassion in action.

This does not mean that we should never speak of Jesus or fail to tell others of His love and mercy. But when our lives back up the things we say, we are “speaking” much more loudly than words alone can ever do.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-30-25 – Branches, Trees, and Roots

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ!

Did you know that we are all branches?

We are! And we are teaching more about this in today’s video, titled Branches, Trees, and Roots.

In the video, we dig into this Bible truth and teach about the fact that non-Jews have been grafted into God’s vine through the blood of Christ.

This is an interesting topic that few of us give much thought to, but it is an important foundational truth that we must understand!

Please click here to watch the video now.

We love you all very much!

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-29-25

1 John 3:18 (NKJV) 18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

Sometimes, the little things that we do can show the biggest “love through deeds” that we could ever hope for!

We may think that it takes big things; things that stand out the most. But when it comes to love that is not the case.

Sometimes it is the seemingly small things that we may do that impacts someone in a very big way.

When the Holy Spirit prompts us to do something, whether it is getting a card for someone, or grabbing something last minute on our way to meet them, it is that small gesture that can make someone feel loved; like someone knew what they needed at that moment.

No, we are not the ones who knew.

But we are connected to, lined up with, and ready to obey the One who does know. And He knows them better than they know themselves.

He knows their thoughts and their needs. And every hair on their head is numbered by Him.

If He impresses on our hearts to do something unusual for them, we should do it!

Let us keep doing those little deeds for others and watch how love comes alive through them.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-28-25

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

We use this verse frequently because it conveys a critical message that applies to every aspect of our lives; put God first.

Regardless of what part of our lives we look at, we will always benefit and grow as a believer if we take the time and make the effort to put God first.

One of the areas that this is especially important is in our marriages.

God has ordained the institution of marriage. He created it.

And the foundation of this is the joining of a man and a woman together for life.

The concept of two unique individuals being joined together, and sharing the rest of their lives together, is challenging in and of itself.

Habits and routines of two people must somehow be merged without those two people losing their individuality.

This can be a challenge of epic proportions for many couples.

But as Jesus said, with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible!

The most important thing we can do is to keep our individual walk with God strong and, as a couple, put God at the center of our marriage.

This single, yet critically important thing, will place our marriage union on the best possible foundation.

When we do this, so many other aspects of our marriage will be strong. And as we build our marriage based on this foundation, it will require much less effort than if we were trying to do it by our own strength and understanding.

Why?

Because God will give us understanding that we would not otherwise have. It is the Holy Spirit within us who helps us better understand our spouse and make sound choices even in things that we may not understand in the natural.

Will we still face obstacles in our relationship, or difficult seasons in our lives? Yes. This is just a fact of life itself.

Jesus told us in John 16:33 that while we are in this world we will have tribulations. But He taught that we should be of good cheer because He has overcome the world.

So, we encourage you to put God at the center of your life, and especially in your marriage. And watch Him change your heart, and help you build a strong, lasting marriage relationship!

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-27-25

James 2:20 (NKJV) 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?

What are works?

Sometimes It’s as simple as taking steps toward what we are having faith for.

If the step is there, take it. If the door opens, walk through it!

If the step isn’t there to take yet, then wait for it. It will come.

Even waiting when we are supposed to is a step of faith!

Putting our faith into action by obeying God in the steps He gives us is “works”.

If we don’t obey, then what we are believing God for will just sit there, dormant. Nothing will happen. No change will come. It’s a prayer that goes unanswered because we fail to obey and take the proper step.

Faith has no teeth if we cannot back it up with action (works). The necessary steps must be taken before we can get answers!

Take that first step. When we do, He will meet us there. Each step we take with Him gets us closer to receiving our answer.

Sometimes the answer may come quickly. Sometimes it may take a while to get it. But nevertheless, we will have that answer through faith in God with our works of obedience.

Steps equal works; confirming our faith and trust in Him and what He says He will do! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-26-25

Jeremiah 1:7-8 (NKJV) 7 But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak. 8 Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.

Contrary to what many will lead you to believe, the lives of God’s prophets were not glamorous.

These people, who were mouthpieces for God, lived lives that were difficult. They frequently spent their years fearing for their lives because of the words God gave them to speak.

In these modern times, there are many who claim to be a prophet of God. And there are many others who desire to be a prophet.

This is problematic. Let us examine this a little more closely to see why.

The ability to speak prophetically sounds enticing. Being God’s “mouthpiece” sounds exciting!

And Paul, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, expressed a desire that all would prophesy (1 Corinthians 14:5).

This desire, though, does not mean that everyone should prophesy. It simply means that it would be beneficial if everyone did so.

If we were all honest, most of us would admit that having God speak through us prophetically on a regular basis seems like it would be great.

Who would refuse that, right? Having the sovereign Creator of everything we see speaking through us sounds like a fantastic way to spend a lifetime.

But we must understand that it is not that simple. Being God’s prophetic mouthpiece comes at a great cost.

The things that God speaks are not always pleasant. They are often very difficult words that give correction or warnings with drastic consequences.

And while this may seem like something fun, the long-term price for this can be brutal.

Simply examining the scripture above proves the difficulty of this “office”, as God instructs Jeremiah that he will go where God sends him and speak what God gives him to speak.

He then encourages Jeremiah not to be afraid of their faces when He tells him to speak. That alone proves the difficulty of the position Jeremiah was being put in.

Knowing this, let us not run hastily into begging God to speak prophetically through us.

And let us also be cautious of those who claim to be prophets of God, allowing the Holy Spirit to give us discernment to weigh the words they speak carefully.

We do not choose our calling under God. He chooses us. And He assigns us the task or title that He knows is best for us. After all, He did create us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-25-25

Psalm 20:6 (NKJV) 6 Now I know that the Lord saves His anointed; He will answer him from His holy heaven With the saving strength of His right hand.

Now I know. With those three words, David is making a statement of faith.

How many know today how God takes care of His people?

How many of us have seen Him move powerfully in our personal lives?

We have seen some things in our own lives that are so powerful, it brings great awe to us even today as we speak of them.

One night, as we were both in a sound sleep, He touched our lips at the exact same time.

When this happened, we both woke up and said, “did you feel that?” We explained to each other the exact same thing and the way it felt when He touched us.

We were in awe. We didn’t fully understand what it meant at that moment, but we were at peace about it as we drifted off to sleep again.

In the morning, we brought it up again and discussed it further.

The same thing; the same touch and the same sensation we had when it touched our lips.

It would be many years before we began to understand what He had done, and why He did it.

Time after time He has shown us His hand in our walk and in our call. We just stand in awe and give Him praise again and again. He is faithful!

We know beyond any doubt that He saves.

He will answer us from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. This applies to anyone who will trust Him and call out to Him.

We encourage you today to call out to Him. Draw near to Him.

He will answer you in the night, in the middle of the day, or in the evening! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-24-25

Philippians 2:12 (NKJV) 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

Some people may read this verse and misinterpret it as meaning that we should live our lives in fear of God removing His salvation from us if we make one too many mistakes.

But this is not a correct assumption.

Yes, we need to make every effort to live our lives in a righteous manner that brings glory and honor to God. We should resist the devil and the temptations we encounter.

God’s word is very plain and direct about this. Our life is, after all, about bringing glory and honor to God in all we do.

But that does not mean that we live lives of dread, afraid of God smacking us down and turning His back on us.

At its foundation, this verse means that we are the ones responsible for our own walk with God.

We must be the ones who make the choices that please Him and represent Him well. And we must be the ones who put forth the effort to draw ever closer to Him.

No one can do this for us.

A pastor cannot do it for us.

A spouse cannot do it for us.

A priest cannot do it for us.

A bishop cannot do it for us.

Just as we must diligently work at a job, we must also diligently work at our salvation.

No, this does not earn us a place in heaven. Salvation is not by works.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV) 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

But we must see the importance of what God has given us by His grace, through the sacrifice and the death of Christ, and treat it with the importance that it deserves.

Let us diligently and faithfully work out our salvation with fear and trembling.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-22-25

Matthew 13:54-55 (NKJV)  54 When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? 55 Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?

We must let God speak to our spirit and take us deeper than what our natural mind knows, to fully understand certain things. To be able to walk in faith completely.

We may think that we know things about a situation or person. But sometimes we may miss things that we don’t know about them if we rely totally on our own understanding.

This is a moment in the verses above that they should have allowed God take them beyond their natural understanding.

Logic can surely get in our way at times, causing us to miss out on God’s mighty work.

Matthew 13:58 (NKJV) 58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

Jesus could not do many things in His hometown because of the unbelief of the people there. They had too much logical understanding and didn’t give Spirit-led answers a place.

Why?

Because they knew where He lived, and who His mother, brothers, etc. were. They could not get the fact that He was the Messiah.

They lived in unbelief because of logic.

This is very sad. We must not let our logic get in the way of the Spirit of God showing us truth and giving us the answers we need at times.

Dear God in Heaven,

I’m so very sorry for getting in the way of Your answers for me. At times I thought I knew better just because I had some logical understanding of the situation, person, etc. Please forgive me and help me to get better at this. Show me how to put my logic aside and allow you to take me deeper. Show me Your way. Give me Your answers and understanding. I will trust and believe You, for You are my God!

In Jesus Christ of Nazareth’s name I pray. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 3-21-25

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

This verse is one of the deepest scriptures in the entirety of God’s word.

Yes, it rivals the depth of, “in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”

It rivals God forming Adam from the dust of the earth, and breathing life into him.

It rivals the 6 days of creation.

And it rivals about anything else we can think of in God’s word.

Consider this. God took on human form in Jesus. He came to earth. He dwelt among men. He taught His disciples truths that were too much for the human mind to comprehend.

And then He offered His (perfect) life as a sacrifice for our sins so that we would not have to pay the price that was the penalty for our sin.

And here is the deepest part; He made Him who knew no sin (Jesus) to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God through Him (Jesus).

We became righteous in God’s sight through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ, by no act of our own, and by no power of our own, far outside of our human understanding.

Think about that. Really think about that!

We had nothing whatsoever to do with this entire act. And yet He offers it to us free of charge and paid in full because of His grace and mercy.

We do NOT deserve it. We can NOT earn it.

He gives it to us freely by simply trusting Him by faith.

Go ahead. Try to fully comprehend that by human understanding. It is NOT possible.

But it is true, nonetheless.

And this is where we see the power of the verses in Proverbs 3:5-6, when God tells us not to lean on our own understanding, but to acknowledge Him in all our ways.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

If you are in need of something to hold onto today, this is it.
