Bible Verse of The Day – 12-12-24

Luke 6:38 (NKJV) 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Giving is hard for most people when times are tough.

It is the last thing we want to think about during hard seasons.

But the scripture does not say to wait until things are going well to give. It doesn’t say to wait until we are in the mood to give, or to wait until we reach a certain goal in our situation to start giving.

If we learn and understand that giving is the seed that opens the door for God to give to us, we wouldn’t hesitate when He asks us to sow a seed or to give of our tithes and offerings.

We sow that seed and God will water it; it will grow!

If things are hard for you today, don’t “give up”. Give OUT!

Make it a point to give, to sow as God prompts you to do so.

If you don’t have a seed, if you are broke and on your last leg, you be the seed. Open up your heart and let God use you in whatever way necessary.

Give of what you have to Him and He will multiple it as you are obedient to His word.

The verse says to give, and it will be given to you. Let Him give to us good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over into our lives!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-11-24

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (LSB) 17 For our momentary, light affliction is working out for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Have you ever seen the look on a person’s face when they realize that they are about to go through a tough trial; something unexpected and difficult?

Any of us are likely to instantly become concerned and look a bit terrified if we are in that situation.

Why?

Because no one likes trials.

No one likes to be backed into a corner, facing seemingly impossible things.

These types of scenarios force us to deal with situations that are unfamiliar to us. We have no way of knowing what to expect or how to navigate through it.

It is normal to be scared. This is part of our fleshly reaction to difficult situations.

But God has told us that we are not to live by sight (the natural flesh), but by faith in Him.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (LSB) 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight…

It is interesting to note that the word “sight” in the verse above literally means “appearance”, which tells us that we are to walk by faith and trust in God, not by the appearance of our situation.

This can be very difficult at times. Especially when it appears that our whole world is crashing down around us.

It is during these times that we must hold tightly to the word of God and the promises He has spoken.

It is in doing so that we will learn to trust Him in ways that we previously never thought possible. And as our faith in Him grows, we will see Him move in ways that we could never have imagined.

God has us in the palm of His hand. He is sovereign. He never leaves us nor forsakes us.

Let us trust Him to take us through the most difficult situations that we face in our lives.

And in doing so, we will find our relationship with Him growing stronger with each passing day.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-10-24

Psalm 108:13 (NKJV) 13 Through God we will do valiantly, For it is He who shall tread down our enemies.

It’s through Him, we are given strength to do bold and brave things. It’s through Him we have courage and determination to stand strong in the face of adversity or persecution.

The seasons that come and are hard to swallow will pass. It may shake us up a little and cause us to become tired, but they will pass.

The enemy loves to hit God’s children. He loves to find ways to knock us for a loop. But God is faithful to help us do valiantly what He has called us to do.

God is there for us and will take care of our enemies in due time. We just need to keep standing and staying straight on the path He has called us onto.

We can’t be looking back, or to the right or the left. We must set our face like a flint and look to Him.

Isaiah 50:7 (NKJV) 7 “For the Lord God will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.

We are strong when we allow Him to guide us.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-9-24

Psalm 139:1-4 (LSB) 139 O Yahweh, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar. 3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways. 4 Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, O Yahweh, You know it all.

We wear our smiles and confident looks around our friends, work associates, and classmates.

We post our pictures on social media, sharing our best times and shining moments for others to see.

And all appears to be well with us.

But God knows what we are holding onto inside, where no one else sees.

The struggles with fear. The doubts. The insecurities. The thoughts that torment us and rob us of our joy and our peace.

He knows it all.

But better than that, He holds the answers to our questions and the solutions to our problems.

He knows our going in and coming out. He knows our sitting down and our rising. He knows our thoughts before we think them, and our words before we speak them.

He is just waiting for us to bring these things to Him and surrender them to Him so He can help us.

For some reason we tend to hold tightly to those things that want to tear us down. We guard them like secret treasure when, in fact, they are like an enemy within, working to tear us down and destroy us.

Why do we do this?

It is time for us to surrender these things to God and let Him walk us through whatever steps He leads us to take so we can find freedom from them, as led by the Holy Spirit.

He will give us the courage and strength to do this if we allow Him to.

Let’s allow Him to.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-7-24

Matthew 6:15 (NKJV) 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

If we want to be forgiven of our sins, we do not have the right to pick and choose who and when we will forgive.

God’s word is clear that forgiving others is not optional.

But some people don’t understand the importance of this.

They are holding grudges against others, thinking they are going to be forgiven despite not being willing to forgive others who have sinned against them.

The words above were spoken by Jesus. He is telling us very clearly that if we do not forgive men, our Father will not forgive us.

Forgiving someone for something they’ve done is a requirement that we must pay attention to.

It is something that will help us tremendously. When we forgive, our broken heart will begin to heal. And God will forgive us if we obey Him in this.

Today, let us forgive that one who has hurt us. That one who has spoken badly of us. That one who has taken from us, cast us out or shunned us in some way.

Is there someone who has abused us, emotionally, physically, or in some other way? Is there someone who has lied to us, or cheated us?

This is a very serious promise that Jesus has spoken about; one that can affect our lives deeply.

Forgive them that our Father will forgive us and bring healing to our wounds.

Dear God,

I come to You today. Please help me to know where I am holding unforgiveness in my heart and against whom.

I choose today with everything in me to forgive them. I am grateful that as I forgive them You have forgiven me.

Thank you, Lord God, in the mighty and precious name of Your Son, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-6-24

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV) 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

I am thankful.

What am I thankful for?

I am thankful for the grace and mercy of God.

I am thankful for the redemption He offers through the blood and the death of Jesus Christ.

I am thankful for God’s steadfast nature.

I am thankful for God’s provision.

I am thankful for the fact that He would humble Himself to come and dwell on earth among men, making Himself a little lower than the angels for a time, that we might know Him and receive His salvation.

I am thankful that He never leaves us nor forsakes us.

I am thankful for His word that guides, teaches, and gives us understanding.

I am thankful for the Holy Spirit, our Helper, Counselor, and Giver of discernment.

I am thankful for His healing power that is still available today.

I am thankful for the deliverance that He offers to anyone who will receive it by faith.

I am thankful for His peace that surpasses all understanding, even amid the storms of life.

I am thankful that He leads us, like a shepherd protecting the flock, even at the expense of His own life.

I am thankful that He healed me of asthma over 20 years ago, setting me free from breathing difficulties that were robbing me of my joy, and free from the chains of relying on an inhaler for over 30 years.

I am thankful to Him for rescuing me so many times throughout my life, even when I was at rock bottom, seeing no way out.

And I am thankful for who He is; God of wonders, the Creator of all we see. For there is none like Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-5-24

Mark 9:29 (NKJV) 29 So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

Prayer is powerful, but prayer and fasting together can move things we never thought could be moved.

So many times, God has answered our prayers when we prayed and fasted.

We truly believe fasting adds another dimension to seeing things change; answers that would not have come if we did not obey the Holy Spirit and fast.

It can seem so surreal when we get to see God move after or during a time of prayer and fasting.

When the answer comes through, you’ll find yourself standing in awe, saying, “Wow, God did that!”

We have a God who hears us, loves us, and will answer us.

Trust Him today with all your heart. He will be there for you. Keep that faith, and don’t let go no matter what.

Through prayer and fasting you will receive your answer!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-4-24

Psalm 19:12-13 (NLT) 12 How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. 13 Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin.

As David contemplated his relationship with God, he addressed his own sinfulness.

David’s heart longed to please God. He wanted to do what was right and pleasing before Him.

But he did not trust himself fully when it came to avoiding sin.

He prayed for God to reveal to him the sins lurking in his heart; the hidden faults that may cause him to fall to temptation.

He laid bare his frailty as a man, acknowledging his weaknesses, but knowing that God could deliver him from them all.

There is a great lesson here for all of us.

We need to acknowledge our own sins, weaknesses, and faults. And we need to lay them before God, asking Him to give us strength; to cleanse us from the things that lead to unrighteous behavior on our part.

Weakness and frailty are not a license or an excuse to sin. They are something that we see for what they are. And then we allow God to show us how to overcome them by His Spirit instead of using them as a crutch or an excuse for our failures.

God is faithful to lead us as we ask Him and allow Him to.

He will set us free if we truly submit and follow Him wholeheartedly, desiring to be loosed from the control of sin in our lives.

In doing so, we will be free of guilt, and innocent of great sin.

Amen

Bible Verse of the Day – 12-3-24

1 Peter 3:12 (NKJV) 12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

When times are difficult, and we are too overwhelmed to even know what words to pray, God is there! He is listening.

Sometimes all we can do is cry. Our strength is gone. Our emotions are through the roof. We are sitting, heartbroken and feeling alone.

This is just a reminder; God’s eyes are on us always.

We may not have the answer for our situation, but we have the Answer to life! In good times, sad times, or hard times, He is our all! .

He knows what we are feeling. He cares for us.

Evil stands no chance with Him. He will deal with it. He will shut it down.

Cry out to Him today. He hears us. He will help us.

Isaiah 41:13 (NKJV) 13 For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-2-24

Psalm 91:2 (NKJV) 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Whether we realize it or not, deciding to put our faith in God through the blood and sacrificial death of Jesus Christ is an incredible act of trust.

By doing this, we are stating by our actions that we trust God with our eternal soul.

The enormity of that act is lost to most of us, especially as we “get on with living life” and learning how to navigate this thing called Christianity.

As we do that, we tend to lean more on our natural understanding than we do on letting God lead us by His Spirit.

Why? Because trusting God with everyday living is not something that comes natural to human beings.

We simply try to think or reason our way through everything we face.

But trusting God in everything about our lives is critical in our walk with Him.

That trust is what allows us to grow and mature as a child of God.

Without trust, there is no relationship.

Trust does not happen instantly. It builds over time. It grows as we see things happen that create trust.

We might look at it as a “Catch 22” situation; we want to trust God, but we fail to “step out of the boat” until we are backed into a corner and have no other choice.

Therefore, we never get to see Him move because we do not allow Him the opportunity to do so.

It is imperative that we use the “measure of faith” that we have been given (Romans 12:3) to look beyond our own intellect and human understanding and allow God to move on our behalf.

In doing this, as we see Him move, it lights a fire in us that causes our faith in Him to sprout and begin to grow. And as we move forward, we find ourselves trusting Him more often, and with bigger things.

And the rest is like a snowball. The more we roll it, the bigger it gets!

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.
