Bible Verse of The Day – 9-30-24

1 Timothy 6:11 (NKJV) 11 But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.

As most of us have already heard many times, God’s word is a handbook for life.

It will teach us who God is, who He wants us to be, and how to live our lives.

It will teach us to love others, to forgive those who have wronged us, and to give God preference in everything we do.

It will also teach us about the things that we should avoid.

Sometimes our flesh wrestles with us about such things, trying desperately to hold onto our old selves and our old habits.

With that said, let us look at what Paul was sharing with Timothy in the verses immediately prior to this one!

While many in the world spend their time chasing wealth with a passion exhibited in few other pursuits, Paul proclaims that we gain much more than financial status when our godliness is accompanied by contentment.

1 Timothy 6:6 (LSB) 6 But godliness actually is a means of great gain, when accompanied by contentment.

So, our passion should be for what pleases God, not for what elevates us in the world’s eyes.

And as Paul proceeded (verses 7-8), he also reminded Timothy that we brought nothing into the world, and we will surely not take anything with us when we exit this world. Therefore, if we have food and clothing, let us be satisfied (content).

Finally, he warned Timothy (verses 9-10) that those whose desire is to be rich are increasingly likely to fall into temptation and harmful lusts which drown men and plunge them into ruin and destruction.

Let us learn to be content, trusting God and putting our hope and our efforts solely in our pursuit of, and our relationship with, the One who is worthy of our efforts and our passion.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-28-24

Deuteronomy 12:32 (NKJV) 32 “Whatever I command you, be careful to observe it; you shall not add to it nor take away from it.

His Word has purpose. It is to help bring salvation and deliverance to us. And to teach us of His ways.

If we take it lightly, or add our own twist to it so that we can continue to do things that we want to be doing without being convicted, we jeopardize our lives.

Beware of people who stand in the pulpit and take God’s word and turn it around.

Beware of people who fluff up the words of God and sugar-coat them so they can build a big following.

Beware of people who don’t teach the whole truth, but only the things they want to teach to keep it easy on the listeners.

A lot of words are being spoken today that lead people away from God. We need to beware and keep our guard up; our ears attentive and our Bible close by.

We must let the Holy Spirit prompt us. And we need to be ready to listen quickly.

James 1:19 (NKJV) 19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath…

We need to be alert. And if something we hear doesn’t sit right with us, there is probably a reason.

Check into it and compare it to God’s Word. His word is pure.

Our spirit will pick up on things that are off if we keep feeding it with God’s word.

When that happens, it’s up to us to make a move, and to stay clear of those who are adding to or taking away from His truth.

We are responsible for ourselves and what/who we let feed us.

Proverbs 30:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. 6 Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-27-24

Revelation 22:20 (NKJV) 20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Evil is running rampant on a global scale, at levels that have not been known for centuries.

Pray, saints of God.

Pray that God’s will be done on the earth.

Pray that the evil be exposed by God’s pure light.

Pray that those who are under the influence of the enemy will fall to their knees and repent before Him.

Pray that those who do not know God will be awakened by what they see, and will recognize their own sinful condition and repent, seeking His forgiveness and redemption.

Pray that God’s righteous judgment will be executed in His perfect timing.

Pray for the saints around the globe to be strengthened and stand boldly in their faith.

Pray for strength for those who are being persecuted.

And pray that we, each individual believer, will not shrink back when facing difficult situations and hard choices, but will rely on the Holy Spirit to guide each step taken.

The time is near, and drawing closer.

Even so, come Lord Jesus.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-26-24

Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV) 23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

To keep our heart also means to watch over, cultivate, and protect it.

What are we protecting it from?

From the things that will pull us down, or draw us away from God, or things that will try to come in and take root.

Or maybe they are already there and need to be rooted out.

When we become a believer, our heart needs a lot of attention because the Bible says that the heart is desperately wicked.

Jeremiah 17:9 (NKJV 9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it?

We need to uproot and clean out the things that cannot stay; the deceit and wickedness.

What is it today that is keeping us from walking a closer walk with God?

Is it the old habits keeping us on the fence? You know; those things that have been part of us for some time, but we know they must go.

The issues of life come from our very own heart.

What we love will rule us! Let it be God!

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-25-24

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV) 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

Each person who puts their faith in Christ becomes a child of God.

John 1:12 (NKJV) 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

We are no longer orphans. We no longer belong to ourselves.

We are His, bought at a price.

1 Corinthians 6:20 (NKJV) 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

We have been called to shine His light, a beacon of hope in a dark world.

Ephesians 5:8-10 (NKJV) 8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light…

With these facts established, we now have understanding as to our status in the kingdom of God.

We are not purchased, redeemed, and saved to simply exist and wear the label of Christian.

We are here for a purpose.

Each person’s purpose is unique; designed just for you by God.

But there is a common purpose that we all share; being God’s ambassadors.

An ambassador is a representative; a messenger of a sovereign king or kingdom.

We are representatives of God, the sovereign Creator of all we see.

Everything we do reflects our God; showing people who He is.

It is our duty and honor to represent Him well, in a way that shows a dying world His truth, His love, His hope, His mercy, and His compassion for humanity.

Let us represent Him well, in the name of Jesus. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-24-24

Zephaniah 2:3 (NKJV) 3 Seek the Lord, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the Lord’s anger.

Who are the meek of the earth?

They are the people who are humble, gentle, and patient, not seeking power or aggression; essentially those who are willing to endure hardship without retaliating. Those who forgo worldly power.

We need to guard our heart and behavior so we do not follow the ways of the world around us.

We cannot let those who are ungodly influence our thinking, causing us to do those things we know are contrary to the word of God.

Show Him how much we love Him by setting our heart to please Him!

Matthew 5:6 (NKJV) 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

When we look to follow God, not just by mere words, but in our actions, we shall be filled. That’s a Promise!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-23-24

Matthew 19:4 (NKJV) 4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’

The world we live in has become a crazy, twisted place.

Right is labeled as wrong, and wrong is labeled as right.

To this, we offer what Isaiah said.

Isaiah 5:20 (NKJV) 20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

There has been a rampant increase in evil on display in the last 10 years.

It no longer hides in the shadows, but shows itself plainly, in the open, as if to challenge anyone who disagrees to try to stop it.

This is not a local or regional phenomenon. It is global.

We want to make clear where we stand on these things so there is no confusion.

The word of God is our foundation. We believe it from cover to cover, in its entirety. We will not stray from it.

A person is born a male or a female, just as God created us from the beginning.

While there can be rare anomalies due to birth defects, this does not change God’s order of things.

There are two genders; man and woman.

There are no others.

Anyone who believes otherwise has either believed a delusion or is suffering from some type of mental illness. And many times, the mental illness is exploited by demons to intensify the problem.

We love everyone; even those who make it hard to love them.

But we will not bow to evil

Our heart’s desire is to teach as many people as possible about God’s love and His offer of redemption, and to see those people be washed in the precious blood of Christ; delivered, set free and made whole by Him.

But we do not condone transgenderism, just as we do not condone adultery, thievery, drunkenness, homosexuality, etc.

God’s truth stands even when evil may try to convince us otherwise.

We love you all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-21-24

Proverbs 3:9-10 (NKJV) 9 Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.

God’s faithfulness is beyond words!

As we honor Him first with all that we have, we will not have to worry about what we need. Those things we always worry about will be taken care of.

Why do so many fret?

Two reasons; they are not honoring Him with their firstfruits, or they are not trusting Him due to their lack of knowledge about this scripture and others that promise He will supply our needs.

It can be very hard to take this verse seriously if we have not previously committed to giving to Him of our firstfruits.

It’s a big step, and it takes faith and discipline to keep walking in it. We can’t just do it for a short time and then give up if things get hard.

It must be viewed as a commitment that we make; it is a one-on-One covenant with Him.

Many years ago, we got a Holy Spirit-breathed revelation about this Biblical truth.

Before that, we never knew the importance and the power of it. And we were always struggling to make ends meet.

The day we finally got it, we fully understood it and we repented for not doing it sooner. We made a covenant with God, and we never looked back. We never stopped, no matter how bad things would look at times.

It was eye-opening for us to witness the things God would do to help us, even when we were the ones that got ourselves in a mess.

He was there to help us get past it. He did not point fingers. He simply helped us make better choices and learn from the wrong ones we had made.

He is faithful, my friends, like none other.

He will help you through the most difficult times and see you through to the end as long as you continue to do your part.

Honor Him first with your firstfruits, and do it wholeheartedly. You will never regret it!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-20-24

2 Samuel 22:26-28 (NKJV) 26 “With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless; 27 With the pure You will show Yourself pure; And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd. 28 You will save the humble people; But Your eyes are on the haughty, that You may bring them down.

What an incredible synopsis offered by the prophet Samuel on the righteousness of God and the ways He handles human beings.

These verses show us that we will reap from what we have sown; both good and evil.

There is an abundance of truth and no-nonsense instruction found here.

There are some translation variations here that make these verses even more interesting, so let us look at them for further insights.

In verse 26, the word “merciful” is translated as kind, loyal, or faithful, depending on the Bible version you choose.

The literal translation is “holy” in the original manuscripts.

This does not infer a pure holiness such as what is encompassed in God Himself, but a holiness shown by a righteous lifestyle and a heart that desires and wholeheartedly endeavors to please God.

Also in verse 26, the word “blameless” infers having integrity. Its literal meaning is the word, mighty.

Mighty does not always refer to physical strength. A person can be mighty in many ways, including courage, fearlessness, dedication, perseverance, etc.

The word “pure” indicates a pureness of heart on the human end, not perfection or literal purity. For we know that perfection is unattainable for human beings.

In verse 27, the word devious could also be replaced with crooked.

And, finally, in verse 28, the word “humble” could be replaced with the word, afflicted, as we see that God’s eyes are on the haughty (proud), that He may bring them down (in His perfect timing).

Take heart, children of God! His eye is on the righteous, holding them up. And it is also on the wicked, bringing them down and judging them for their wicked deeds.

May our hearts be found clean in His eyes, washed by the blood of Christ, and our lives be found pleasing as we draw nearer to Him each day.
