Bible Verse of The Day – 8-9-24

1 Corinthians 15:51 (NKJV) 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed…

Today, we will examine a mystery; a hidden truth!

As Paul penned these words to the Corinthian believers, he was sharing a divine revelation with them.

He wanted them to understand the depth and true meaning of the foundation their faith in Christ was built on, beyond the precious gift of redemption (the washing of their sins).

As the apostles grew in their own faith, God began to give them understanding in much deeper things that they shared with the other believers.

They gained this understanding not from man or human intellect, but only by the Holy Spirit.

The “hidden truth” that Paul referenced was “hidden” (withheld) in the Old Covenant. But it was now being revealed to the children of God as part of the New Covenant.

Exactly what was this mystery?

It was the resurrection of believers, just as Jesus Himself had been raised from the dead. He stated that it would happen “in the twinkling of an eye” (in an instant).

1 Corinthians 15:52 (NKJV) 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

You see, without the resurrection there would be no life after death; no hope of spending eternity in God’s presence. We would live, and then we would be laid to rest forever.

But in God’s great mercy, He made a way through Jesus!

And death has been forever defeated, not just for Jesus, but for you and me also!

No longer does death have a grip on us. It was dealt a fatal blow when Jesus arose and walked out of that grave. Death has been defeated for eternity.

Take heart brothers and sisters in Christ! These present trials are momentary and light when compared to our eternal presence with God.

Let this mystery that has been revealed to us give us incredible hope and joy as we look toward eternity where death is no longer.

Amen!

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-8-24

Psalm 37:39 (NKJV) 39 But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble.

Are we feeling weak and empty today? Is our strength gone? Are we tired and at a loss for words? Are we worn out and heavily burdened?

Here’s something to hold onto! Our salvation is from the Lord. We may be battle weary, but we are not defeated.

He will meet us right where we are in this hour.

What are we dealing with today? Is it too hard to even begin to explain?

The Lord is our salvation and strength! He can pick us up and turn this whole thing around. He will do the impossible, the unimaginable, and the unexpected, just to help the righteous.

We can rest assured that in our greatest despair He will be doing a new thing.

Isaiah 43:19 (NKJV) 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.

Hold fast to Him!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-7-24

John 8:36 (NKJV) 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Many believers struggle with overcoming things that they wrestled with prior to becoming a child of God, or things that they have become involved in since becoming a believer.

The types of things that present struggles can vary greatly.

Some are habits. Some are things that the individual may not have recognized as being a sin. Other things might be full-blown addictions that bloomed from indulgence in a particular sin.

But no matter the struggle, there is one thing I know for certain; the blood of Christ has the power to set them free from ALL these things.

Now, I know that statement may not be well received by some. Many will balk at the idea that an addicted person can have the chains of their addiction smashed by putting their faith in Jesus Christ.

But it is true, nonetheless.

God is not bound by what we perceive or believe to be true. He is bound by truth; His truth. He is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19).

Most of the struggles that we wrestle with perpetually remain struggles because we fail to surrender to God wholly or to truly recognize the sovereignty of God in its fullness.

Yes, we may believe that God created everything. We may believe that He offered up His Son for the redemption of humankind.

But we fail to recognize and believe on a personal level that He can set us free from the things that bind us. And so, we struggle with them for years on end, defeated in our battles against them.

But it does not have to be this way.

A blind man was given his sight by Jesus spitting in the dirt, making mud, and applying it to the man’s eyes. Mud made from spit does not sound attractive, does it?

But that man was healed and given his sight!

We need to embrace God’s ways, even if they are well outside of what we might envision.

This includes accepting and embracing the fact that God can truly set us free from something that has plagued us for years; one hundred percent free.

Freedom given by God is not a partial proposal. It is not momentary freedom that is given for a few weeks, a few months, or a few years. It is complete freedom!

Will we recognize it? Will we surrender to Him wholly? Will we give our struggles to Him completely, leaving them behind for good?

It is truly up to us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-6-24

Psalm 32:8 (NKJV) 8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.

According to this verse there are three things He will do for us.

He will instruct us, teach us and guide us!

What more could we ask for? Our Father and the Creator of this world will help us through this journey called life. We are not alone!

We need His instructions daily. This life we live here is not about us and how successful we have made ourselves in the present world. It’s not about how popular we are, how many friends we have, or how much knowledge we have gained.

Our life here is to learn how to walk through this journey with His guidance. We should be asking Him, “what instructions do I need today? Where do I lack guidance?”

Most times we don’t ask Him these sorts of questions until we have been through the mill, trying to figure everything out ourselves and failing miserably.

We don’t ask Him for instructions until we have reached a point where we can’t do it anymore and we finally surrender.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

When we realize that the God who spoke these words to Jeremiah also loves us, speaks to us, and wants to guide us, then we begin to ask “what now, God? What is Your plan for me? Where do I go from here?”

Our prayer today is that each one of us understands that God wants to lead us every day. He will help us make good choices and protect us from hurting ourselves. He has a future for us.

He will instruct us in the way to go! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-5-24

Luke 12:42-44 (NKJV) 42 And the Lord said, “Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? 43 Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. 44 Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has.

As Jesus was spending time with His disciples, He taught them using a parable.

He was instructing them regarding the importance of the faithfulness of servants.

In this example, He used the illustration of a servant who had been found faithful by his master. Because of his faithfulness, the master made the servant ruler over his house.

That servant was placed in charge of all other servants, making sure they were fed and cared for in a timely manner.

Jesus went on to teach that such a servant is blessed for his diligence.

Jesus then contrasted this example with another; an example of an unfaithful servant.

Luke 12:45-46 (NKJV) 45 But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, 46 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

Instead of staying faithful, the servant decided to take advantage of his master’s absence. He lapsed in his duties and proceeded to beat his fellow servants, and then ate and got drunk.

As the unfaithful servant languished in his revelry and drunkenness, the master returned unannounced, catching the servant in his dereliction.

The master angrily “cut him in two and appointed him his portion with the unbelievers.”

The words that Jesus used to show the consequences of an unfaithful heart were stern, direct, and to the point.

Although Jesus often taught using symbolism in His parables, it would benefit each of us to consider the literal ramifications of this kind of unfaithful behavior.

Is our heart truly faithful?

Do we honor Him even in secret when nobody is looking?

Do our lives reflect a heart that is faithful to our Master?

These are some very sobering things to ponder.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-3-24

2 Timothy 2:23 (NKJV) 23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife.

What kind of talk are we getting caught up in?

If it’s idle talk that isn’t going anywhere, hold back. Instead, pray! Prayer goes much further and bears good fruit.

When we get into heated conversations and our words are not going to make a difference, why bother?

Why do we even want to engage in conversations that are going to generate strife, causing people to become angrier than they already are?

We need to learn that there will be conversations where we will need to explain or break down certain things in detail. However, such conversations will be led by the Holy Spirit, not by our emotions.

He knows the right tone, the right words, and has the wisdom to reach people where they are at. Let Him guide our conversations and they will be fruitful and fulfilling.

We will walk away knowing that He gave us what we needed to speak about, bringing life into that very situation.

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-2-24

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV) 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Every day is a good day to remember and thank God for how wonderful He is!

When we pray, God hears our cry.

We may not even remember sometimes what we asked for because most times we just move on from there with the busy lives we live.

He is faithful in answering our prayers. Isn’t it wonderful being able to pray and leave it with Him? He is the ONE we can trust with our cares.

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

And that’s how it works when you have faith in God.

We know without a doubt that He will move on our behalf. He will answer our prayers, and things will be taken care of. Faith; it is what moves mountains!

The most important and responsible thing is to recognize His help and sincerely thank Him.

Giving Him glory for the good and wonderful God that He is!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-1-24

1 John 2:15 (NKJV) 15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Do not love the world.

What part of the world are we talking about here?

Obviously we are not talking about the creation and beauty of what God has blessed us with. But the parts of the world that line up with evil, or things that are operating under the dominion of Satan.

There are three destructive forces in the world that we must learn to deal with.

The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and pride.

These things will cause us to do the wrong thing every time if we do not know Jesus Christ and give Him dominion in our lives; If our hearts are not touched and changed by Him.

We must fight hard to do the right thing, to remain strong and disciplined in our decisions.

Do not be conformed to the world, but transformed and renewed in our minds, that we will make right choices.

1 John 2:16 (NKJV) 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.

But thank God that Jesus Christ has come to deliver us from this evil age and has set us free. And He will help us overcome whatever the world may try to tempt us with.

We are not alone. We are His child. And as we follow His commandments and guidance, He will renew our minds and help us to discern correctly.

The world and all its lusts will pass away. But us who remain firm in Him will abide forever!

1 John 2:17: (NKJV) 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

No matter how much it appeals to our eyes or how good it feels to our flesh, be strong in the Lord and choose righteousness!

Amen.
