Bible Verse of The Day – 8-20-24

Mark 10:51 (NKJV) 51 So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”

Sometimes we miss Jesus’s answer to us. Sometimes we are so distracted with our problem, our schedule, or our need we simply miss the question.

What do you want Me to do for you?

Can we sit at His feet today and answer Him? Can we stop what we are doing long enough to let Him know what we need?

This blind man, Bartimaeus, had no problem telling Jesus what He needed Him to do.

Do we have a problem asking Him for what we need?

After Bartimaeus told Jesus what he needed, he immediately received what he needed.

Mark 10:52 (NKJV) 52 Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

Do we have faith today to believe Jesus for His answer for us? Are we ready to see miracles happen?

The storms of life can be very turbulent and can cause us to step back at times. But, remember Who calms the seas!

Mark 4:39 (NKJV) 39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.

What do you need Him to do for you today?

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-19-24

Psalm 9:1 (NKJV) 1 I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.

The phrase “whole heart” is one that I find intriguing.

It is not the phrase itself that catches my attention, but the connotations behind that phrase.

Our relationship with God will be as strong as what we put into it; our whole heart, or just a portion of it.

In the Psalm above, King David wrote that he would tell of God’s marvelous works with his whole heart; with everything in him.

David had a good grasp on the fact that this is what God asks of us; our whole heart.

As His children, it is what He asks of us as well. Not just that we would tell of Him with our whole heart, but that we would pursue and desire Him with our whole heart.

It is what He has asked for all along, and why the people of Israel were constantly in trouble, as they split their devotion to Him with idols and false gods.

This is a serious thing for us to understand. So serious, in fact, that in the book of Revelation we are told that if we give less than our whole heart (being lukewarm in our affections and dedication to Him), especially if we do so intentionally, we will be vomited out.

Revelation 3:16 (NKJV) 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

We are living in a spiritual season of perpetual lukewarmness.

The world offers so many things that vie for our time, attention, and affection. It can be extremely easy to fall prey to this and lose the intensity that God asks for in our relationship with Him.

And if we are not careful, our heart begins to stray ever so slightly, creating a crack in the bond between us and God.

But God is faithful. He is patient and merciful. And if we recognize this lapse in our walk with Him, whether tiny or large, and we repent, He is more than willing to meet us where we are at, drawing us in with open arms.

Let us not be as the Israelites were; a stiff-necked people who suffered the wrath of God for their love of idols and false gods.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-18-24 – With All Your Heart

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

The phrase, with all your heart, is one that is critical to our walk with God being strong.

There are many inferences in that phrase that are important for us to understand.

In today’s new video, “With All Your Heart“, we teach about God wanting us to love Him and serve Him with all our heart.

This idea is one that will change everything about us once we fully understand it and begin applying it to our lives.

We hope you enjoy the video.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-17-24

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

We must learn to trust God in many areas of our lives, especially when He brings change.

Change is often met with resistance. It is a natural reaction to be hesitant when change comes.

But what if we embraced it, even though we are scared and afraid of the unknown?

We would find that the change we once feared is what we needed to help us grow.

Can we remember a time when we had to stop the way we were doing something and learn something completely different? Something we never thought we would be doing?

And where did it take us?

If we follow the change through, and give it some time, we will forget about the fear and uncomfortable part of it and begin to see the results from allowing change to do its part.

God does not change things up on us to make us look silly, or to cause us to fret, or to bring insecurity. He brings change for one reason; that we may grow and benefit!

And if we trust Him, embracing His change rather than talking ourselves out of it, we will grow in our walk with Him and He will continue to direct our path. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-16-24

Matthew 14:29 (NKJV) 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

Peter walking on the water is something we hear a lot about. It took incredible faith for him to step out of the boat and walk toward Jesus.

The fact that he became scared and began to sink after a few steps is not as important as his willingness to step out when Jesus told Him to come.

Nestled in this whole event is another lesson for us to learn. Let us take a look!

In the opening scripture above, the disciples were on the water without Jesus. He had sent them ahead while He went up on the mountain and prayed.

Later that night, He went to them, walking on the sea.

Prior to Jesus approaching the boat, the disciples were troubled by heavy seas and contrary winds. They were, once again, in trouble.

But as Jesus approached them, they saw Him and believed that He was a ghost. They cried out in fear.

But Jesus spoke, saying “take courage. I am. Do not be afraid.”

Peter, being emboldened by the sight of Jesus walking on the water, called out to Jesus, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”

And Jesus called him to step out of the boat.

Peter stepped out of the boat and walked on the water to go to Jesus.

But He took His eyes off Jesus and put them on the wind and the waves, and he began to sink. Crying out, he said, “Lord, save me.”

Jesus took him by the hand, and when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

You see, sometimes Jesus calms the storm to save us. Other times, we must brave the storm and walk through it to get to Him, where He will take us by the hand and rescue us.

But we must have the faith to step out onto that stormy sea and walk toward Him. We must trust Him enough to get out of the boat.

It is then that He sees our faith and acts on our behalf.

Why does He wait until then? Because our action proves our faith. It shows our trust in Him even when He asks us to do the impossible.

Let us not always wait until we think it is safe to move. May we have faith strong enough to walk through the storm to go to Jesus when He beckons us, even if it means walking across wind and waves to do so.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-15-24

Psalm 121:1-2 (NKJV) 1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

Trusting God when things get hard has got to be one of the most challenging things to do.

I remember when our children were young, we sat them down one evening and we talked with them about God’s faithfulness, and how we need to continue to trust Him even in the hard seasons of life.

After we got done talking with them, we asked them if there were any things they wanted to see God do for them in their lives.

At such a young age, they begin to talk about some things they wanted to see happen. It was interesting to hear what concerns little ones have.

The things they asked for were not selfish. And we made a list with them, writing everything down.

And let me tell you that within a year every prayer request we wrote down was checked off. God was faithful to answer them at such a young age!

They got to see God move on a personal level.

Now, as they are older, and life’s situations are more difficult, they know where their help comes from. And they know exactly Who they can run to every time!

It’s amazing how God pays attention to the little children and their wants or needs just as much as He does the adults. It’s so important to teach our babes where their help will come from in this life.

Teach them how to run to God. Let them know He is there for them and will help them through anything they face in their lives.

May God bless our children today, and may they see His hand move at such a young age. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-14-24

James 1:22 (NKJV) 22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

Studying, knowing, and understanding the word of God is imperative to having a fruitful walk with God.

What is equally important is living out the word in our lives.

It is good to know scripture. It is good to memorize Bible verses. It is good to spend time getting understanding of the deeper things in the word.

But what are we doing with all that knowledge and understanding?

Are we heaping it up to make ourselves feel good? Are we trying to impress others with what we know? Are we prideful in our accumulated understanding?

Or are we living it out in our daily lives, putting into practice the things God teaches us through His word?

The religious leaders of Jesus’ time were well studied and skillful in the scriptures. They knew them well. They could recite them line by line.

But their hearts were darkened, dead, unalive.

They failed to recognize the long-awaited Messiah even as He stood face to face with them.

The word of God is here for us as a resource; a handbook to live by. A light to our path.

James says that we should be doers of the word, not just hearers or studiers of it.

What did he mean when he said that those who only hear the word are deceiving themselves?

In verse 21, immediately prior to the verses above, James says to “lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.”

He is clearly speaking to how we conduct our lives, stating in later verses that “he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, is not a forgetful hearer but a doer.”

Simply put, he is stating that we must (continually) abide by the word (walk it out). And by doing so, we are proving our faith and trust in God is genuine, not just a facade we put on when it is convenient to do so.

Let us be doers. Not just hearers.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-13-24

Ephesians 4:23 (NKJV) 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind…

How do we become renewed in the spirit of our mind?

We apply the teachings from the Bible to our daily walk.

We take in His words that He taught, His examples that He walked out, and let them take root in us.

Opening and taking in His word is the best schooling we could ever get.

Investing our time reading the words of God and letting them penetrate our hearts will complete us and equip us for every good work!

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV) 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Renewing our minds with scripture equips us to walk a “God Walk.”

Some people may say they don’t have time to read the word of God with their busy schedule, but they go to church on Sunday and get God’s word then.

That’s good that you are diligent in going to church and fellowshipping with other believers. However, the one-on-one time with God will build us up in a more personal way.

Being fed once or twice a week versus eating of the word every day makes a big difference. It changes how we carry and conduct ourselves.

Our minds will be freshly renewed, our walk will be stronger, and we will feel a closeness to God.

We will notice a difference as we stay in His word daily. Take time to read. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-12-24

Matthew 16:15-16 (NKJV) 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

As Jesus spoke with His disciples, He asked them what others were saying about who they thought He was.

The disciples rattled off a list of names of dead prophets and men of God.

But Jesus looked at them and asked the question above; who do you say that I am?

Peter spoke up and exclaimed something that he did not fully understand at that time; You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Jesus then addressed Peter directly.

Matthew 16:17 (NKJV) 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

You see, what Peter had just spoken was not of his own understanding or his own intellect.

It was revealed to him by God through the Holy Spirit.

This was one of the earliest recorded examples of the disciples being given divine revelation and understanding and speaking it out.

Peter had no natural way of knowing the things he spoke of at that moment. It would be over time that he would begin to see and understand who Jesus really was and what that meant to him and the rest of humanity.

As Jesus spent the remainder of His days with them, the disciples began to experience more of this divine revelation and Holy Spirit-led understanding.

And this revelation would be the power that allowed 12 men to turn the world upside down for Jesus, even as it cost them their lives.

The words we read in our Bible are not the words of men. They are the words of God, breathed into men’s spirits and penned by those same men, recorded for you and me to learn from and grow by.

These men wrote the New Testament under this same Holy Spirit-led revelation and dissemination of truth, given by God directly to the authors.

God still speaks by His Spirit today, teaching us and showing us things that we cannot comprehend with our natural minds.

Let us be as Peter was, embracing it even when we may not fully understand it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-10-24

Proverbs 24:17-18 (NKJV) 17 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; 18 Lest the Lord see it, and it displease Him, And He turn away His wrath from him.

Keeping our heart right is what matters to God, even in situations where we think we have the right to gloat about an enemy’s defeat.

Our flesh will enjoy saying and thinking things like, “Yes, they got what they deserved!”

Beware of this way of thinking. It’s not OK for us to be happy over someone else’s failures, mistakes, or stumblings, even if it is our enemy.

God knows our frustration and our anger towards the wickedness of sin, but it does not give us the right to act out in ways that are contrary to His word.

He calls us to do just the opposite of what we may be feeling or thinking they deserve.

Proverbs 25:21 (NKJV) 21 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;

Trust God to take care of our enemy in the way He sees fit. And for us, let us work at keeping a righteous attitude, that we may please God.

No one said this walk is easy. But remember, with God it’s possible for us to behave in such a way that we never thought we could.

Matthew 19:26 (NKJV) 26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
