Bible Verse of The Day – 7-9-24

Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) 10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

Be still and know that I am God.

He has a way of calming us with His Word.

What about this, Lord and what about that?

Why am I going through this? Why do I feel scared?

How are things going to turn out? When will the change come?

I’m tired, God. I’m not going to make it, Lord.

Lord, where are You?

Oh, how we long at times to know things. How we long for answers.

And when we don’t get the answers, how we keep pushing for them.

And what if we do get the answer and it is not what we expected?

Will it cause us to stop moving forward?  Cause us to faint and not trust?

Maybe we don’t know things because we are not quite ready for the answer.

Sometimes what we are facing will cause us to be still.

We must stop worrying. Stop trying to make up an answer. Stop trying to keep things going on our own. Stop trying to be who we are not. Stop trying to put on a good show.

We can face our situation and know that God will help us through it. Obey His direction and trust Him through the journey.

As we obey. He will work it out. He will bring victory. Things will change!

Let us be still, knowing that He is God.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-8-24

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

As Jesus spoke, He was contrasting Himself with the devil, who He referred to as the thief.

He stated that the devil had come to steal, kill, and destroy, but He had come that we might have life abundantly.

But what exactly is the abundance Jesus was referring to?

Many people will immediately think of monetary wealth or material possessions.

This is a popular viewpoint among some believers and teachers since Jesus didn’t specify the type of abundance He was referring to as He spoke in this situation.

But if we were to look at the teachings of Jesus overall, viewing the bigger picture, we would see that He was not speaking at all about monetary or material abundance.

You see, Jesus spoke frequently about why He had come. Never did He state that He had come to make people wealthy or to help them store up an abundance of material goods.

For anyone to teach that this was His purpose would be terribly incorrect. It would, in fact, be bordering on heresy.

Jesus did speak many times throughout His ministry about riches, wealth, storing up treasures on earth, etc. But not once did He speak of these things in a positive light.

In fact, He stated that the possibility of a rich man entering heaven was as difficult as a camel passing through the eye of a needle.

Matthew 19:23-24 (NKJV)23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

When His disciples questioned Him further, Jesus told them that with man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible, clarifying that a rich man entering the kingdom of heaven is only possible if that man submits everything about his life to God, including his wealth.

To be clear, the abundance Jesus came to bring was not material wealth. It was spiritual wealth.

It is the redemption and salvation of mankind that He offers to all who will accept it.

It is the healing power that comes by way of faith in Him.

And it is the forgiveness of our sins by the washing of them in His blood, making us new creations in Him.

Any teaching that claims Christ died a cruel, terrible death on the cross for mankind to become wealthy is false and needs to be seen as such.

Turn away from such teachings and embrace the true gospel that states we must take up our cross and deny ourselves.

Luke 9:23 (NKJV) 23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

And let us find true treasure in our relationship with the one, true God.

Greetings.

Jesus is alive and the Father is still on His throne!

We have a new video for you today that we think will offer a little bit of help to everyone.

We speak frequently about changing seasons in our lives because it is a topic that we all deal with.

In today’s new video, When Seasons Change, we teach about recognizing changing seasons and learning how to handle each change that comes our way and transition from one season to another.

No two seasons are the same. And the transition from an old season to the new one is always different.

We hope this video will help each of you in some way.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-6-24

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Our language matters. Why?

Because that is how we can bring change to certain situations. If we speak from a righteous heart we will produce good fruit.

The words we choose can bring peace around us. They can calm the atmosphere. They can snuff out the flame in heated conversations and turn them around, bringing laughter instead of yelling and bickering.

The power is in the tongue!

Where do our words come from? The fruit from our lips comes from our heart.

Learning to wait on the Lord to lead us in our conversations is crucial. And then following through, with the help of the Holy Spirit and what He puts on our hearts to say in that moment, will bring life to those who receive these words.

John 14:26 (NKJV) 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-5-24

John 3:19-20 (NKJV) 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed.

Human beings love darkness. Not necessarily the darkness that comes when the sun goes down each day. But spiritual darkness; actions and behaviors that are sinful.

Our flesh craves worldly, fleshly satisfaction.

It loves things that make it feel good, even if only for a fleeting moment.

So many things can be destroyed by choices we make based on emotional impulses, apart from the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Marriages can be decimated. Friendships can be forever altered. Careers can be crushed. Fortunes can be lost.

How? By fleshly desires that we let get out of control.

When we live and walk by the flesh, we fail to recognize that we are dirty. We do not see the depth of darkness operating in our lives.

Think of it like this. Pigs live most of their lives caked in mud. Wallowing in it is natural to them. They have no understanding that they are dirty. They just know that they like mud because it keeps them cool and repels flies.

As humans without God, we are in a comparable situation.

We wallow in things that make us dirty. Unlike the pigs, our wallowing is not for protective purposes. It is to try to satisfy our fleshly desires.

We may not understand that we are dirty, but we are, nonetheless.

And our wallowing will destroy us if left unchecked.

If a pig is given a bath, it will waste no time getting back into the mud and the slop. They cannot be kept clean for long!

But we humans are offered a “bath” that washes us clean forever if we choose to accept it.

It is the blood of Christ, administered by way of the grace and mercy of God Himself.

If we choose to apply it, this blood washes us clean. It makes us new. And it transforms us, taking us from darkness to light.

And that precious blood will do more than keep flies away. It will help us repel the attacks of the enemy if we let it and if we choose to employ the tools and weapons He equips us with.

And once that blood washes us, we will never be the same, leaving behind the ways of darkness, exchanging them for a new life lived by the power of the Holy Spirit!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-4-24

Matthew 6:34 (NKJV) 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Worry is something we all deal with at times. We worry about little things. We worry about big things. We even worry about other people’s things.

It’s crazy how much of it we do without even realizing we are doing it.

I have recently been going through a season for me to learn how to discipline myself, and learn not to worry.

Yes, I must verbally repeat the scripture above to remind me at times, sometimes several times a day, depending on the season I’m walking through.

Worrying is contagious. If we we spend a lot of time with a person that is a constant worrier, it won’t help us get stronger in this area.

We need to understand that faith comes by hearing the word of God.

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

So, what should we do to stay strong in our faith?

We need to hear the words of God. His promises to us will build up our faith. And the worrying will cease as we agree with His words!

2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV) 20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

Amen. No more worrying.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-3-24

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Many of us may have heard Christians state that they are just a sinner saved by grace.

Most times this is referring to the fact that we occasionally slip up and are not perfect in our walk with God.

While there may be some truth to that, this phrase fails to account for the scripture above, which states that if we are in Christ, washed by His blood, we are a NEW creation!

No, we are not expected to be perfect. God knows that we will sin.

But this is never an excuse for us to sin. It does not give us a license to willfully, freely sin and expect God to simply forgive us because of His grace and the blood of Christ.

Romans 6:15 (NKJV) 15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!

You see, sin does not just happen involuntarily. It comes by the choices we make.

To brush it off, sometimes jokingly, saying that we are just a sinner saved by grace, we are dangerously close to making light of what Christ did on the cross.

This is not to scold anyone. It is meant to give us a gentle nudge, a soft reminder, that we do not forget the seriousness of our commitment to Christ.

The key to this is to change the perspective with which we look at this topic.

Before Christ, we were sinners, dirty and unwashed.

After Christ, we are new creations, made clean by the washing of His blood.

We are no longer that same person.

We are each a new creation. God’s word says so!

When the blood of Jesus is applied, the old things have passed away.

His blood is better than the most powerful soap. It does not simply remove the dirt and stains, dressing us up and making us look better.

It brings us from a past life of sin and darkness into a new life in Him.

He is worthy of the effort that we must make if we wish to honor Him with our lives.

Let us walk each day as the new creations that He died to save.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-2-24

Mark 11:25 (NKJV) 25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

God wants us to forgive. There is no question about it.

He does not want us to live with unforgiveness in our hearts. Unforgiveness will surely affect our hearts if it is not dealt with.

We must ask ourselves if there is someone or a situation that we need to forgive today? May the Holy Spirit show us.

We sometimes have a way of pushing things down that hurt us, and never dealing with the pain. But that pain will haunt us if we don’t deal with the root of it.

If this is you, there is no better time than right now to take a few minutes and pray this prayer.

Dear God,

I have been hurt by, say the name of the person or situation.

It has crushed me, and I can no longer look at them the same. I don’t want to be around them or in the same place with them.

I’m hurting and I can’t stop this pain I feel. This disappointment that lives in my heart is there all the time. I have pushed it down for so long.

Today I want to let it go. I don’t want to walk around feeling broken any longer. Please, Lord, I need Your help in forgiving them and I want to be healed.

I know it won’t be easy, but I am willing to take the steps. Help my broken heart get back to being healthy and strong again.

Forgive me, Lord, for holding any anger towards them. Today is a new day, and I’m ready to be free from it all. In Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

May God bless you and remember His promise to you.

Psalm 147:3 (NKJV) 3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-1-24

John 4:21 (NKJV) 21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.

The time Jesus spent speaking with the woman at the well is something we hear a lot about.

It is a well-known sequence of events that is significant in many ways.

As I was recently reading and pondering, something struck me about this event that had not been so obvious to me until now.

While we often speak of Jesus revealing things to the woman about her life that only God could have known, or we speak about the water that keeps us from thirsting again, look what else He said.

In the verse above, Jesus began alluding to things that were going to change and had, in fact, already begun to change.

There was a shift taking place that had gone undetected by most people.

John 4:23-24 (NKJV) 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

You see, Jesus was revealing that the traditional ways of doing things were fading away, and that God wanted the people to understand true worship could only happen in spirit and in truth.

Rituals and traditions were dead and meaningless. The hearts of the people had grown hard and mechanical in their interactions with God. They relied only on their human understanding and routines, leaving their spirit out of the equation.

Jesus had come to open the eyes and the hearts of the people. And as He walked the land sharing truth, the things He taught stirred up anger in the Jewish leadership because those things were contrary to their traditions.

And because of this, many of them hated the One who had come to save them.

God does not want traditions and rituals. He never did.

The guidelines He set for the Jews became idols that they prided themselves in following. The very things designed to point them to the one, true God became their god without them realizing it.

And as Jesus spoke in ways that exposed their true hearts, He was hated, persecuted, and crucified for it.

Let us not be like the Jews of old, falling into habits, routines, and rituals in our walk with God.

We must let Him touch our hearts, transforming them and keeping them soft and pliable, that we not let our practices become our god.
