Bible Verse of The Day – 5-20-24

Psalm 73:26 (NKJV) 26 My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

As humans, we are inherently weak and feeble.

Our flesh is fickle and prone to failure. On our own, we can do nothing.

This is not an opinion. It is a fact that the Bible reiterates many times.

The Apostle Paul, despite all that he accomplished. spoke of being disappointed in himself when his flesh was determined to do one thing, but his spirit wanted to do the right thing.

Romans 7:15 (LSB) 15 For what I am working out, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate.

Similarly, David was not afraid to admit that his flesh failed him. He knew it.

He was not proud of it. But he was humble enough to readily admit his failures and own up to them.

It was in this that he found strength in God.

In the opening verse the word, strength, is translated as rock. God was the rock that gave his heart strength.

Despite his failures, David is still someone we can learn a great deal from, especially when it comes to drawing strength from God during times of weakness.

And just as Paul confessed his battle with the flesh, let us also confess our struggles to God and allow Him to strengthen us in times of weakness.

He alone can give us strength when our flesh fails us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-19-24 – Do Not Be Deceived

Please click to watch the video now.

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

We hope that you are prospering in your walk with God and drawing ever closer to Him each day.

We have a new video for you today in which we teach about the seriousness of things that the Bible says will prevent us from entering into the kingdom of God.

The video is called, Do Not Be Deceived.

In this video we take a serious look at things the Bible addresses, and that it states plainly we must examine in ourselves if we wish to spend eternity in God’s presence.

This is a serious look at an important topic. We hope it will bring to light some things that are easily ignored, and that it will help give strength where there is weakness when it comes to obeying the word of God.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We love you all.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-18-24

Job 5:17 (NKJV) 17 “Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; Therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty.

This verse is amazing!

I know, I know,… no one likes to be corrected, especially when we are adults. But this verse, if we embrace it, will help us live a much more joyful life.

How many times do we say to God, “help me to know what I need to do”?

How many times do we cry out, “God, I need your wisdom”?

How many times do we say, “God, where are you”?

But when He shows up, do we not like what He says we must do or say?  We think, “this can’t be Him; He wouldn’t ask this of me”.

God will bring perfect correction every time. The question is, “are we open to it?”.

Just the other day, I was crying out to Him; “Lord, help me to be your vessel and to learn to say and do the right things”.

I will admit, sometimes I become exhausted because I have been in intense training, trying to get it right.

How many of you know what it feels like to be in intense training for something?

You feel like you are dying by the end. So much work and discipline go into getting ready to achieve your goal.

And what seems to be the worst is realizing how much we lack in certain areas.

But I know you’re probably thinking, “why bother?”.

Why? Because it is all part of our growing process.

Allowing God to correct us and teach us is the beginning of a beautiful relationship with Him, and becoming that vessel He can use!

2 Timothy 2:21 (NKJV) 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for the Master, prepared for every good work.

Hallelujah, correct us Lord!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-17-24

Revelation 16:15 (NKJV) 15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”

We seem to be writing frequently about trusting God during trials and tough seasons in recent weeks.

We never plan our topics in advance. We write what God leads us to write when He prompts us to do so.

The season the body of Christ is walking through right now seems an apt time to write on the topic of trusting Him. It is indeed a dark time in the world’s history.

As teachers, we always want to stay in tune with God’s spirit and do as He leads us to do.

And so it may be that the bride of Christ needs to hear these kinds of things from the word of God at this very moment.

Our goal as believers should not be to wait until we are in desperate need of God to go to Him, but to always stay close to Him.

It is in staying close to Him that we find daily strength and assurance for the less difficult seasons, as well as comfort and hope when difficult times do arise.

Some may view this as gloom-and-doom teaching, focusing too much on the negative.

But if we as believers focus solely on the “happy things” that make us feel good, and we never gain understanding regarding difficult seasons, we will not be prepared to push through to victory when we are up against spiritual battles that require perseverance and a strong resolve.

So, we urge you with everything in us to take the necessary steps to break free from the distractions of everyday life and draw near to God.

The word of God says that the “day of the Lord” will come like a thief in the night.

Let us not be caught up in trying to figure out when that day will come or ignoring that it will come. But rather that we will be prepared when it does come. For when it comes, there is no time left to prepare.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-16-24

Psalm 16:11 NKJV) 11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

How many times do we ask ourselves, “am I doing the right thing? Am I where I’m supposed to be? Am I on Your path, Lord?”

Life is funny. We all have these questions; even those that we might think have it all together. They have the same concerns.

Being sure is not a bad thing. And if we need to ask from time to time, that’s perfectly fine. We always want to make sure we are on the right path in our walk with God.

So, what do we do if we realize we are not?

The best thing is to not panic but, ask God to help us get there.

Don’t make any sudden moves or changes. Just pray first, and let Him help guide our steps. Wait for Him to open doors.

Some people make the mistake of abruptly stopping everything when they realize, “this isn’t it”. But that’s not always the thing to do.

Sometimes we need to let God get us there little by little, one small step at a time.

Most importantly, though, we need to start off by asking Him and then moving forward at His pace. He will show us His way.

Psalm 25:4 (NKJV) 4 Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-15-24

Job 19:25 (NKJV) 25 For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth;

As Job lamented his condition, he expounded on a lengthy list of people who appeared to have abandoned him, stating that his close friends abhorred him.

Even young children despised him.

And as Job continued, he expressed further frustration that (in his opinion) God had “kindled His wrath” against him.

But if we read further, nestled deep in the middle of all of Job’s mournful words, we will find a gem that speaks truth that sustained him throughout his entire ordeal.

“I know that my redeemer lives.”

You see, despite the terrible things that had happened to him, Job still fully understood God’s sovereignty.

He refused to forsake the One who breathed life into his being, despite demanding “an audience” with Him to allow him to air his complaints and questions.

Job understood that God held his life in His hands. And as he further contemplated his situation, he began to understand that he was not without fault.

And in this he began to openly repent and show remorse for his attitude and the words he had spoken in frustration.

Job is an ideal example for each of us to follow.

No, he was not perfect in his response to calamity. He spoke words that he later regretted. He accused God of things that were untrue.

But he never abandoned his faith, openly repenting before God and his friends in the end.

Let us follow Job’s example, learning to trust God even as we walk through dark seasons that go beyond our understanding, holding fast to our faith in Him in all things.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-14-24

John 15:5 (NKJV) 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

I am the vine. He is our source of life.

You are the branches. We are connected to Him and draw that life from Him.

As branches draw the necessary nutrients to survive and flourish from the vine they are attached to, we draw from Him to survive and flourish in our daily spiritual walk.

The vine exists to nourish, feed, and allow the branches to grow. The branch exists to bear the fruit of the vine.

As God’s children, we are nourished and fed by His Word. We read, learn and practice walking in the things He shows us.

We allow His wisdom to work in and through us daily, leaning on and trusting in His understanding more than our own knowledge.

We give Him room to teach us. We allow Him to help us in every aspect of our walk. And as we remain close to Him, we will bear beautiful fruit.

Such fruit will teach and bless others around us, and they too will grow from it if they are willing.

But without Him, trying to do such things on our own will be impossible.

Abiding in Him is where we get our nutrients to produce such beautiful and lasting fruit.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-13-24

Psalm 31:24 (NKJV) 24 Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord.

Are you facing something extremely difficult right now?

Do you wake up in the morning with fear hanging over you, making you want to stay in bed?

Do you feel alone, like no one knows or cares about what you are facing?

Does it feel like you may not make it through this?

We want you to know that you are not alone.

You may be feeling less than optimistic, but God is bigger than the obstacle you are facing.

We realize that may sound cliche. But we promise you it is true.

We have also faced difficult challenges at times. We know how it feels to be flat on our backs, looking up and having no idea how we will overcome the obstacle before us.

But God is forever faithful. He does not change, and His arm is not short.

God’s infinite wisdom supersedes earthly troubles. His understanding transcends human intellect.

His solutions confound the most intelligent human minds. But those solutions are as solid as God Himself, our Rock and Redeemer.

So, as you walk through the trials and difficulties of life, lean on Him. Hold fast to Him. Let Him give you the strength to push through.

For it is in Him alone that we find our strength.

Psalm 27:1 (NKJV) 1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-11-24

Colossians 3:23-24 (NKJV) 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

Do we try with everything in us to please God?

Do we truly put a lot of effort into doing the right thing and making the right choice even though at times we’d rather be doing something else?

Do we feel alone at times, like no one understands why we do what we do, like no one is ever paying attention, and like we are up against a brick wall?

Does it bother us that no one seems to see the effort we put forth, the times when we stop our mouths from saying things that we would love to say or feel the need to say?

Does it bother us that the love we share, and the kindness we work hard to put forth, seem to be falling on deaf ears and not appreciated?

We want to encourage you today. Know that God sees you!

He sees your efforts. He sees your persistence. He sees your heart. He sees you trying and going out of your way to be kind, to share love and keep shining, even when you are tired.

Don’t stop loving.

You are a blessing. You are God’s child full of His love.

Your reward is greater than you could ever know. And most times it won’t come from those we go out of our way to help. But God Himself will reward us.

1 Corinthians 16:14 (NKJV) 14 Let all that you do be done with love.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-10-24

Mark 2:17 (LSB) 17 And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “Those who are healthy do not have need for a physician, but only those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Over the last few weeks, God has been showing us how critical it is for us, as followers of Christ, to really get the truth in this verse ingrained into us.

We must get this into our spirits and live it out.

Prior to this verse, a scene is described where Jesus is dining with many different people, including some who were looked down on by the Jews, and labeled as sinners.

The sinners included tax collectors and irreligious Jews.

Tax collectors were frowned upon by the Jews for being agents of the Roman government, collecting the taxes for the empire that was in power at that time.

Many of the tax collectors were Jews themselves, which is why they were looked down upon so badly.

Among the sinners referred to by the Pharisees were also others who were Jews by birth but who chose not to follow the tenets of the Jewish religion.

The Pharisees spoke out, reasoning that because Jesus spent time with these people, He was surely not the long-awaited Messiah; the holy One spoken of by the Old Testament prophets.

Hearing them, Jesus addressed their concerns, stating that it was not the so-called righteous who need Him, but those who were sinners, likening them to the sick needing a doctor.

Years ago, we were attending a church that was local to where we lived. On a particular Sunday, an incident took place that left a large impression on me. I did not witness it directly, but I spoke with those who did.

A woman had walked into the church sanctuary and was not dressed the way some thought she should be dressed.

Upon seeing this, some people told her that her clothing was not acceptable and asked her to leave. She was clearly not welcome there.

As she turned to leave, another family who had witnessed what had just happened told her that she was more than welcome to sit with them. The woman sat with them, but whether she returned to that church is unknown.

The people who had asked her to leave had failed her miserably, forgetting the very lesson Jesus taught in the verse above.

We must get this right!

Jesus willingly sacrificed His life for me, for you, and for every other “sinner” who will ever live.

Let us not turn them away from the very One who can wash them of their sins and make them a new creation; Christ Jesus, the long-awaited Messiah, the King of kings and Lord of lords.
