Bible Verse of The Day – 11-18-23

Daniel 1:3 (NKJV) 3 Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles…

Some of the children of Israel were exiled to Babylon to serve king Nebuchadnezzar.

Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, four Hebrew boys were about to go through a very big change.

They were required to learn a whole new way of doing things in the king’s palace.

Wouldn’t you think, being God’s children, that He would deliver them from this situation and make the king bring them back to Israel?

He did not.

But He did help them find favor by giving them wisdom and understanding ten times better than all the others.

Daniel 1:20 (NKJV) 20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm.

They were required to go through a three-year training course. They were taught the language and literature of the Chaldeans.

They were also required by the king to eat and drink things that would defile them.

Right from the start, Daniel had to take a stand in a place he was not from.

Because he knew the food and drink that the king offered would defile him, he purposed in his heart not to receive it.

He fought to keep himself away from such things and to remain loyal to God and continue to do the things he knew were good for him, no matter where he was.

Daniel 1:8 (NKJV) 8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore, he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

When we face a situation where we may have to choose to stand up and fight for what is right, remember Daniel and how he purposed to do the right thing and how it all turned out good for him despite circumstances that looked very bleak in the natural.

God will give us a plan and His favor!!

He may not necessarily keep us from being placed in certain situations. But He will help us to get through it if we follow His lead.

Don’t give up. We are children of the Most High.

With His understanding, wisdom and plan, we will make it through the most difficult situations and not be defiled. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-17-23

Psalm 33:8-10 (NKJV) 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. 9 For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast. 10 The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect.

Over the last few years, God has been teaching me a lot about the importance of recognizing and understanding His sovereignty.

His sovereignty plays a significant role in more aspects of our lives than most of us realize and understand.

God is right in the middle of world events, even though we may not recognize that fact.

People and puzzle pieces are being shuffled, moved, and organized as His plans are carried out right before our eyes.

We may not always like what we see. We might be unhappy with the results of certain developments. And some of the outcomes may even make it seem like evil has the upper hand.

But rest assured that none of it escapes God’s notice or His control.

We need to remember that God’s plans and His ways are higher than ours in every way.

What looks terrible to us may very well serve a specific purpose in His long-term sight.

As we begin to see and understand God’s sovereignty, we will begin to trust Him more, and fret less about the things we see.

This doesn’t mean that we should think that we are nothing more than unwitting actors in a movie that we were involuntarily cast in.

It means that we serve the one God who keeps His promises and is carrying out what he told us in His word He would carry out.

We still need to be seeking God, listening for His leading, praying that His will be done in the earth, just as Jesus taught us to do.

We have spiritual battles to win, demons to fend off, and darkness to drive out, where and when God instructs us to do so.

And it is only by His Spirit that we can do this, as we draw near to Him, trust Him, and let Him lead our every step.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-16-23

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

An important thing we can learn in life is how to live each day correctly, by choosing the right words. Saying and doing things in the right season at the right time is something we must learn.

Can we agree that words are powerful?

Knowing what to say and when to say it will help us to make a difference in a very simple and straightforward way.

It will take disciplining our flesh, and taming the desire to want to say whatever, whenever we feel like it.

At times it will take great strength to not say a word, even though we think what we have to say will help the situation.

Stay in tune with our Helper, the Holy Spirit. He loves to guide us through these situations. Do we trust Him enough to follow?

If we want to do our best, we must follow completely, not pick and choose when we want to follow.

Is the Holy Spirit leading us to hold back today on saying certain things to those that we would love to speak out to?

If so, don’t underestimate His guidance. He knows what will work and the timing of it all. He knows what will protect us from bringing destruction against ourselves by using the wrong words at the wrong time.

I am excited about being more attentive to Him! I feel like the day has come when we are all tired of getting the same old results.

Maybe we are just tired of talking and not seeing any fruit from what we say.

It will be a new season for us when we say, “OK, Holy Spirit, guide my lips today. Help me to speak when You prompt me and to say what You put in my heart. Let me be a vessel You can move through”.

Let’s bring life, instead of death and destruction. Let our words be acceptable in Your sight, Lord!

Psalm 19:14 (NKJV) 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-15-23

Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Kindness.

Kindness is something that should be a part of our lives every day.

The fruit of the Spirit of God working in our lives should produce kindness even when situations might cause our emotions to feel like being less than kind.

Kindness will keep us from lashing out at someone when they just might deserve it. The grace and mercy of God working in us will cause us to exhibit and offer kindness to them when our flesh would cause us to verbally berate them.

Kindness will cause us to give away something that we might not want to let go of.

Kindness will keep us awake later than we prefer, to do something for someone who is in need at that moment.

Kindness will encourage someone when they are down, giving them hope and an uplifted spirit when their circumstances might be less than ideal.

And kindness might just keep someone from going off the deep end when they are down to their last straw while dealing with a tough situation. It might even save their life.

We never know how our kindness might impact someone we interact with at any moment in time.

So, let us be sure to sow the same type of kindness we would want to receive if we needed it.

By doing so, we just might change a life for which we can give God the glory.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-14-23

James 4:8 (NKJV)8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Thinking that we don’t need God will put distance between us and Him.

The more we know we need Him, and the more we want Him to be a part of our lives, the closer He will get to us.

There was a season in my life where I had been praying and praying for certain things to take place. Then one day, (well it seemed like one day for me, though I’m sure it was much more), I felt like God answered a lot of what I had been praying for over the years.

It required me taking certain steps to get there but, by golly, He got me there!

He came in and made everything work out beautifully.

God can do that, and He will if we follow His leading!

So, now that everything was different and He had answered all those prayers and all those concerns I’d had, I allowed myself to kind of fall into cruise control mode.

I stopped asking God for answers to my prayers.

After a while of being in cruise mode, something about it began to bother me.

I kept praying and asking God, “where are you? Things feel different. Our time together felt different and I wanted what we had before”.

I was longing for Him.

I prayed and prayed and kept seeking Him and asking Him, “what is going on?” Did I do something? I want things the way they were with us”.

Time went by and I truly didn’t know why things had changed. He seemed quiet.

Then one day the truth hit me when God asked me, “do you still need Me?”.

I said, “Yes, Lord!”.

And He said, “why aren’t you asking me for help?”.

And my response was very simple and yet it was so eye-opening for me; “I thought that because you took care of all that I was asking for, and now I need to take care of myself with the provision you gave me”.

He said, I will always be there for you. And wherever you are, it’s you who needs to draw in and ask Me again.

It was a total misunderstanding on my part for sure.

You see, we need to need Him.

Just simply need Him.

If we want Him to draw close to us, we need to draw close to Him.

What is it today for you? What is it that you need Him to be there for?

For me, it was His presence that I longed for.

Don’t think you can’t ask Him just for His presence. He loves us and wants us to want Him more than anything.

He wants us to lean on Him. He wants us to walk out our entire life wanting, needing and leaning on Him!

Why does He feel so far away at times?

Because we have forgotten our first Love and are not leaning on Him the way we should.

Draw close to Him today. Trust Him. He will draw near and help us in any way we need Him to.

Amen.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV) 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-13-23

Acts 28:3 (NKJV) 3 But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand.

As Paul was busy gathering wood for the fire, he was bitten by a viper; a poisonous snake that should have killed him.

The natives in the land saw this and knew that Paul faced certain death.

Acts 28:4 (NKJV) 4 So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.”

But Paul was no ordinary man.

He had great faith in God and trusted Him wholeheartedly, knowing that the power of God was far bigger than the venom of a snake bite.

What did Paul do?

Acts 28:5 (NKJV) 5 But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm.

He never even blinked. He shook off the snake and kept going.

You see, this is the God we serve; the God who operates far outside the bounds of our understanding, and outside the realm of natural possibilities.

If something is impossible in the natural realm, it is possible for God.

He created everything that we see simply by speaking.

He spoke and the worlds were formed. Darkness was replaced with light. An empty void was filled with everything that we see around us.

The stars, the sun, the wild creatures, the sights and the sounds of oceans, rivers and small streams are all the handiwork of our Father in heaven.

These things can all speak to us if we let them, showing us the incredible magnificence of our God.

Let us not tie His hands in our own lives by believing He is capable of less than He is.

Our faith and trust in Him are what unlocks the door for Him to move mightily on our behalf.

His ability to work and move in our lives is limited only by our faith and trust in Him.

Luke 17:19 (NKJV) 19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-12-23 – We Are Accountable

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

We have a new video for you today. It is called, “We Are Accountable”.

In this new video, we teach about the fact that, as followers of Christ, we are accountable to God for our actions.

God rewards each of us based on what we do and the words we speak.

While this is a serious topic, the video presents it in a lighthearted way that is fun even as we learn and grow.

We love you all very much!

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-11-23

Matthew 13:15 (NKJV) 15 For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’

Jesus said that the hearts of the people had grown dull.

Another way of saying this would be that their hearts had become calloused.

If something is callous, it is hardened and thickened. It is tough to penetrate.

So it can be with the heart.

In an effort to protect ourselves, we try to turn off our feelings. If we are not careful, not only do we shield ourselves from those who irritate, hurt or stress us out, but also from those we care about the most.

Sometimes we don’t even realize it; we can’t see it or feel it.

But we can recognize it if we are aware that it happens and we pay attention. It will show up in how we hear and see things.

Our actions will prove the state of our heart.

Having a dull heart will keep us blinded toward seeing the things God may be showing us, and deaf from the things God would be speaking to us.

It will keep us from receiving His understanding when we need it most.

We can develop such a heart if we don’t get in God’s word and stay open to His teachings or chastening at times.

We need to develop a heart that is sensitive to Him and calloused to the tactics of the enemy.

It’s His word speaking to us that will keep us sensitive to hear and see and have understanding. But we have to read it in order for it to be effective in getting rid of the dull, calloused and hardened heart.

Ezekiel 36:26 (NKJV) 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Are we walking around today with a hard, calloused and dull heart? His Word will fix it, provided we listen and make the necessary changes.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-10-23

Psalm 46:10 (NKJV) 10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

The season in which we are currently living is one of many facets.

We are watching God’s word unfold right before our eyes, which is awe-inspiring and terrifying at the same time.

To see His sovereignty on display gives more credibility to His word for those who doubt Him, and a sense of security to those who believe Him.

And yet, in the midst of it all, the evil that we see in action can cause our flesh to shrink back in fear if we take our eyes off Him for even a fraction of a second.

But let us be reminded of His faithfulness, and the words in the verse above; “Be still, and know that I am God”.

That short phrase tells us that we have nothing to fear.

Yes, we may face things that are difficult. We may endure hardships that we never imagined. We may suffer losses that tear us to pieces inside. We may face threats of death.

But in it all, God is sovereign, and He still reigns.

None of what we walk through, or what we are witnessing in the world, surprises Him.

He told us that this would come. And the fact that it is coming just shows us how true He is and how much more we should be trusting Him in everything.

Do not fear. Do not fret. Do not give up hope.

Why?

Because our hope is in Him, the One who told us of these things. And the One Who will deliver us from them in His timing and in His way.

Hold tightly to Him and trust Him with every fiber of your being.

He is faithful.

Bible Verse of The Day – 11-9-23

Romans 15:2 (NKJV) 2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.

Godliness prefers others. It puts others first and walks in humility. Godliness honors others and is sensitive to the feelings and cares of others.

Our flesh must be crucified if we want to walk out this “pleasing his neighbor” life style, requiring us to leave our old desires and passions behind.

Galatians 5:24 (NKJV)  And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

There should be a constant crucifying of our flesh as we grow and learn to serve others by putting ourselves aside.

Will we have days where we do not want to even try any longer? Yes. That’s normal.

The flesh loves to treat itself with comforts. It loves to have all the attention, and it would love to focus on itself.

The flesh will even cause us to think that we have the right to do whatever we want, when we want.

But, through Christ and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, if we don’t give into the flesh, we will have what it takes to please those whom God has put in our path on any given day.

We will be able to say and do the right thing that will touch their heart and cause them to be grateful and know that only God knew what they needed in that hour.

May He be glorified through our pleasing others as He leads us to do so. Amen
