Bible Verse of The Day – 7-31-23

Psalm 119:11 (NKJV) 11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

One of the things that I have learned over the years is that we (human beings) tend to overcomplicate things.

We do this in many facets of life.

This applies to our walk with God as well.

We look past what God tells us in His word and try to do things based on our intellect and our emotions. And when we reach our wit’s end, we throw our hands up and walk away, surrendering to whatever it is that we were trying to overcome.

We tend to approach sin in our lives the same way.

When we keep caving in to temptation, we begin to believe that we are just destined to fail, and we settle for that.

We mistakenly believe that sin comes by way of external forces; temptation offered to us through others.

And while it is true that others may try to tempt us and lure us in to sin, check out what these two verses say:

James 1:14-15 (NKJV) 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

It is because of the desires within us that we fall repeatedly.

So, how do we finally overcome temptation and destroy the sin pattern in our lives?

Look at what the Psalmist said in the verse above; Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

This takes the whole temptation and sin thing, wraps it in a tidy little package that totally destroys our thinking when it comes to our struggles with sin, and then gives us the solution:

Hide His word in our hearts and overcome the sin in our lives, once and for all. Yes, it is that simple.

Anything that we think makes it more complicated is based on our emotions and our failure to allow God to show us the truth.

You see, God’s word implanted in us defeats the enemy in our lives. His word in us is a constant reminder of His truth and His holiness.

And if we hide His word in our hearts, He is sure to bring it to mind when we are tempted, diverting our attention from the temptation, and placing it squarely on Him.

That is the best sin prevention we could ever ask for.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-30-23 – How Would They Know?

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

We all interact with people daily. There are people around us wherever we go.

On that note, we have a question to ask.

If we did not tell them we are a believer, How Would They Know?

How Would They Know?” is also the title of our newest video, where we teach about the ways that people know we are a child of God without us having to come right out and tell them.

This is a thought-provoking teaching that gives us all reason to be a bit introspective and allow God to teach us some things about ourselves. We hope you will give it a watch!

Please click here to watch the video now.

We hope you will find this video informative and helpful.

We love you!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-29-23

Psalm 17:5 (NKJV) 5 Uphold my steps in Your paths, That my footsteps may not slip.

As David prayed these words, he did so as part of a series of petitions that he was laying before God.

David endured many attacks in his life because of his position and because of his faith in his God.

Many of these attacks could have ended with David’s life being snuffed out. He was despised deeply by his enemies.

As part of the petition, David asked God to uphold his steps, that he may not stray from God’s path, and that he would not slip because of the pressure on him.

This can also happen in our own lives.

The path that God has set before us can sometimes require drastic measures on our part if we wish to adhere to that path.

Sometimes it might mean having to make decisions or choices that cause us emotional anguish.

This may come when God calls us to take a path that separates us from people, places and things that are familiar to us.

The loss of those familiar things, or people we are close to, can sometimes cause us to question our steps.

And if we are not careful to stay close to God, we can forfeit our destiny by shying away from the hard things that we encounter.

Let us stay close to Him in all things. We must press into Him and learn to trust Him as He leads us, not forsaking Him or His path when the steps He asks us to take become difficult.

We may not always understand Him, but His ways are surely better than ours.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-28-23

James 1:2-3 (NKJV) 2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

I don’t care much for surprises of the negative kind; the unexpected event or situation that upends my day and requires me to make adjustments to accommodate unwelcome trouble or trials.

It’s just part of how I am wired.

But as a child of God who is (increasingly) led by the Holy Spirit, I have come to understand, as you probably have too, that trials are part of life.

Believers are not exempt. We have no clause in our salvation that states our lives will be free from trouble.

In fact, sometimes being a Christian invites trials.

Standing up for our faith will sometimes draw unwanted attention that can cause difficulties we would rather not have.

Other times, difficulties arise that have nothing to do with our faith at all; they are just part of life in general.

Regardless of how they come, we must be able to learn to deal with them properly.

If we fail to learn this, we will constantly be miserable, never learning how to be content in any situation.

So, knowing all of this, and learning from God’s word over the years of my life, I have come to understand that I cannot simply ignore trials, try to brush them off or spend my days wallowing in misery as trials arise and play out.

Trials are actually good for us, despite what we might think.

As James states above, trials test our faith. And they produce patience if we let God lead us through them His way.

This does not mean that we will grow to love trials. That is not likely for anyone.

But it does mean that, as we mature, we will address trials differently, allowing God to guide us and teach us, instead of spending our days mired in self-pity and sharing our anguish with everyone who will lend us an ear.

Instead, God will teach us to hold our tongues, go to Him for guidance and walk through our trials one step at a time, as He shows us His way to handle whatever we are facing.

And as we look back at a trial that we have worked our way through, we will do so joyfully rather than with disdain, giving Him the glory and honor for His faithfulness.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-27-23

Psalm 96:1 (NKJV) 1 Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth.

A new song!

How many of us have sung a new song to the Lord lately?

With all that has changed in our lives these past few years, a new song can be hard to come by.

But know that as we begin to come back from the hits we took in our home, on our job, in our country, a new song will arise out of our hard times.

It will come from our spirit and we will not be able to contain it.

God has a new song for us all. It will come when we let go of the anxiety that’s caused us to be at a loss for words.

It will come when our hearts begin to fully see the light at the end of this tunnel by the power of the Holy Spirit.

A new song will be birthed from the victory we will have from our heavenly Father’s hand. We will sing to the Lord a song like never before!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-26-23

Mark 10:48 (NKJV) 48 Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

The man in this verse was crying out loudly. He pleaded with Jesus to have mercy on him.

He was called Bartimaeus. He was blind. And he wanted Jesus to heal him; to give him his sight.

So, he yelled as loudly as he could to get His attention above the ruckus of the crowds that had gathered.

Those around him yelled back at him, scolding him for being so brazen and loud, and warning him to be quiet.

But this just made him yell more loudly, determined to draw the attention of Jesus and seek the healing that he needed.

And Jesus heard his cries.

Approaching Bartimaeus, Jesus asked him, “What do you want Me to do for you?”.

Bartimaeus boldly told Jesus, “that I may receive my sight”.

And it was done. Jesus spoke the words and Bartimaeus was healed!

Bartimaeus was persistent. His faith kept him yelling out to Jesus despite the warnings of the crowd to stop.

We are much like Bartimaeus many times, desperately in need of something from God.

But are we like him when it comes to pressing in and making our needs known?

Or are we allowing the influence of the enemy or the people around us to silence us when we know we should be speaking up, crying out for Jesus to touch us or help us?

This can rob us of many things, including our time with God or healing from our infirmities.

As Bartimaeus, Zacchaeus (Luke 19:2-6), and the woman with a flow of blood lasting for 12 years (Matthew 9:20-22) did, let us also press in, rise above the noise and the chaos and cry out to God, letting nothing and nobody stand in our way, that our petitions may be made known.

And by our faith, may we receive from Him those things that we so desperately need.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-25-23

Psalm 146:1-2 (NKJV) 1 Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! 2 While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.

Let’s praise His name. Oh, let’s praise His Holy name….

Hallelujah! He is glorious! He is wonderful! Let’s lift Him up today.

He is marvelous, He is gracious, full of mercy… our Lord!

Our God is forever the same! He is Holy. So Holy, and beautiful is He, through and through.

Hold Him tightly in our hearts today. Don’t let the enemy try to cause us to doubt Him and His promises to us.

You know that our God is true and faithful to deliver to you. So don’t give up.

He will hold our right hand and keep us safe forevermore.

Isaiah 41:13 (NKJV) 13 For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’

Lay it down at the altar and leave it there. Don’t try to fix it by ourselves.

He is strong. He is faithful to see us through this day!

Trust in Him and His way. He has the answer for us and the situation we are going through.

Let’s praise Him in the happy times, let’s praise in Him the sad times.

Let’s praise Him in the hard times and let’s praise Him each day we are alive. He is worthy of all our praise forever and ever!

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-24-23

Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV) 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

God’s word is the lifeblood to our walk with Him.

It is the source by which we are transformed from the darkness of this world to God’s light (righteousness), as we take it in and let it change us.

God’s word is the seeds of righteousness planted in our spirits.

But let’s be very clear about something.

The righteousness we seek is not a quest to be perfect or flawless. Only Christ Himself was capable of that kind of perfection.

For us, the pursuit we embark upon is one by which we seek to walk out the freedoms that Christ died to make available to us.

You see, the darkness and cares of the world will do nothing but weigh us down, making it increasingly difficult to walk the path that God has set before us.

But His word will help us discern evil (darkness), recognize it and defeat it on a personal level.

Our quest is never about being better than someone else. It isn’t even about being a better person.

And it is absolutely not about looking at others and judging them.

Our goal should always be to look only at ourselves, allowing God to search our hearts, letting His word penetrate our soul, that He may be able to put His finger on those things that He wants us to surrender to Him.

In doing so, we will become ever stronger and more readily able to resist temptation and thwart the attacks of the enemy.

Study the word. Absorb it and let it penetrate your very being.

2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV) 15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-23-23 – Back to The Word of God

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of our wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ!

False teachings have been around for centuries.

The word of God warns us about them quite frequently. It is up to us to be able to spot them.

In today’s video, Back to The Word of God, we teach about the importance of using God’s word to discern the things that we see and hear, to determine whether it is a false teaching or not.

This is an especially important topic for today, so we hope you will take a few minutes to watch the video.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-22-23

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

Are we battling an addiction today? Is there something that we know is holding us hostage, but we can’t seem to shake it?

When most people know they need to break an addiction, they try to do it on their own.

Sadly, most of those people fail because they rely solely on their own strength.

We can not break certain habits without the strength that God gives us to overcome them.

People that are badly addicted to alcohol, drugs, porn, and other things, think they need to clean themselves up before they come to God for anything.

They think they have to stop what they are doing before they can come to Him.

What they fail to understand is that He is the One we need to go to if we truly want to break free of those things that hold us in chains.

I have seen people struggle with drugs and alcohol.

They have been in and out of hospitals and rehabs. They have spent days in Intensive Care Units, detoxing from the substances that have a death grip on them.

And it’s the same people, over and over again.

Why?

Because many of them simply think it’s a lifestyle. They fail to recognize it for what it is; a deadly addiction that will ultimately destroy them if they don’t defeat it once and for all.

They never reach a point where they truly want to give it up completely.

Because of this, it will take them down, deeper and deeper, until nothing is left of them. They will lose everything and everyone that cares about them and loves them deeply.

I say to you today, do not wait to clean yourself up before going to God.

Get with Him now, and let Him help you.

He is not taken back by what He sees in us if we sincerely want help. In fact, He wants us to let Him help.

If this is speaking to your heart, stop what you’re doing right now and repent of your lifestyle. Let Him help you get clean.

Go to Him. Let Him break those chains that have held you for so long.

Fear not; God will be with you. He will stand with you and be your God. He will uphold you!

You just have to sincerely want to be free. No more dipping in and dipping out. It’s got to be a life-changing event.

He loves you and His grace is sufficient for you.

Go to Him just the way you are. In your weakness, He will be strong. In your infirmities, He will rest upon you. He will deliver you!

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV) 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-21-23

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV) 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

Our salvation in Christ is about so much more than us spending eternity in God’s presence.

It is multi-faceted. Let’s take a look!

When we become a child of God, the Holy Spirit begins a transformation work in our lives that prepares us for what lies ahead.

When we put our faith and trust in Christ, we become a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

All the change and transformation that God works out in us is not just to make us a better person so we look good, or to impress those around us.

It is to mold and shape us into vessels who bring honor and glory to God Himself!

Now, this is where it gets really interesting.

As God works in us, He also takes those works He is doing in us and begins to display His work outwardly, through us.

Our interactions with others now become works of ambassadorship.

Here are some examples of how this plays out:

The kindness that we demonstrate to others.

A gentle, uplifting word to someone who is facing a hardship or tough situation.

Helping someone in need, either by deed or by giving of our finances.

Praying with someone who is hurting.

Speaking truth, in love, to bring light and hope to someone who is shrouded in darkness.

These are all simple examples of us being lights in a dark world.

We show God to others through our words and our actions, and we take no credit for it.

We point everyone to God, who gives us the ability to do what we do through the power and leading of the Holy Spirit.

This is never as complicated as we sometimes make it seem.

God leads, He speaks, and we obey.

And in this we fulfill our calling as ambassadors in Christ. Amen.
