Bible Verse of The Day – 5-20-22

Matthew 4:2-3 (NKJV) 2 And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

The devil often comes to tempt us when we’re at our weakest moments.

Despite this, we can still win our battles against temptation.

Jesus thwarted the enemy’s attack in this example by quoting the word of God.

For us, maybe quoting the word of God will work.

But even more effective is living out the word of God.

As we partake of God’s word daily, and we get it embedded in our hearts, we become so much better equipped to ward off the attacks of the enemy.

Why?

Because a sincere change of heart brought about by feasting on the word of God, and by drawing near to Him, will cause us to be less susceptible to temptation.

It will also cause us to be stronger overall, since we will be less likely to be walking in the flesh, and more apt to be walking in the Spirit.

As we walk out our life here in human skin, we will never be perfect. But that doesn’t mean we have to be weak and impotent in our faith and in our walk with God.

God will equip us if we let Him.

I will warn you, though, that being properly trained and equipped is not for the faint of heart.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that it is scary. But it does mean that it takes discipline, perseverance and diligence on our part to walk it out.

And if we are careful to let God guide our steps, temptations that come will have less and less power over us, allowing us to effectively push back against the devil, sending him packing.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV) 13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-19-22

Luke 10:33 (NKJV) 33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.

The Samaritan man that helped the injured man by the side of the road did not know him. But he had compassion for him. That is God’s heart for us; to have compassion for others whether we know them or not.

Just recently I was out running errands and was able to witness a couple of women with very strong compassion.

On my way into one of the stores, a young lady was leaving. She was full of tears. It was heartbreaking to see her so upset.

Before I could even make a move toward her, two other women looked at each other and thought the same thing and ran after her to help her. I stayed back and waited to see if they needed me as well.

It took only seconds for them to find out what the burden was that she was carrying.

This poor young lady just received a phone call informing her that her mom had passed away.

When they heard this, they were willing to drive her somewhere or do anything needed in order to help her.

What compassion they displayed, to see someone in sorrow and being there to offer a helping hand.

Suffering people need to experience God’s compassion, and what better way than for us to go out of our way for someone that we don’t even know.

It’s in the moment of pain, sorrow and sadness that we need to be there, stepping out of our comfort zone and pushing aside everything just to be there for them.

Thank you, God, for your compassion that lives in us. May we be aware of it each day and as You tug on our hearts, may we share it with others, reaching them right where they’re at.

Hebrews 13:16 (NKJV) 16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-18-22

Matthew 2:7-8 (NKJV) 7 Then Herod, when he had secretly called the wise men, determined from them what time the star appeared. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the young Child, and when you have found Him, bring back word to me, that I may come and worship Him also.”

Herod hoped to deceive the wise men, so he could locate the Christ child and kill Him.

Isn’t it just like the devil to make himself seem to have a righteous purpose behind one of his evil schemes?

And isn’t it just like God to expose the enemy’s evil plans?

People of God, we live in a world where good and evil do battle constantly. And evil masquerades as good, hoping to trick those who are unaware.

We see pieces of it played out right in front of our eyes. But then there is a lot more that we don’t witness in the natural, because it’s carried out in the spiritual realm.

This is why it’s so critically important that we learn to discern absolutely everything that we encounter.

Truth and lies can look so much alike sometimes. And many times, it’s hard to know who to trust when it comes to getting trustworthy counsel and understanding.

Again, this is why it’s so critically important that we learn to discern absolutely everything that we encounter.

So, how do we learn to discern the things we see and hear? How do we know truth from lies? How do we know the difference between honesty and deception?

We immerse ourselves in the word of God. And we let the Holy Spirit teach us how to separate truth from lies; deception from the genuine article.

There is only one place where we can go for this; the word of God.

His word will show us the light in the midst of darkness, even when others can’t see it.

He is trustworthy and true, from start to finish.

He never abandons us and never leaves us without knowledge and understanding.

All we need to do is to desire to know the truth, and then diligently seek it out.

He will be faithful to show us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-17-22

Matthew 5:13 (NKJV) 13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

Our life will affect others in a positive or negative way.

If we are a Christian, but not living right, our actions will show it. People around us will think, “boy, they are Christians and they are no different than we are”.

Our fruit will show us and them who we belong to.

I have been focusing on watching my tongue and also how I treat others more so than ever. It’s been very challenging at times, I will say. It’s hard to stay calm when I see or hear certain things.
But God keeps reminding me, “you don’t know what they have been through or where they are at in their walk”. He is gently reminding me that no one is perfect; not even me.

Being the salt of the earth is really just focusing on our walk with God and cleaning some things up as He leads us.

That’s when we will draw closer to Him and He will draw near to us.

He will point out those things we tend to overlook. He will be there to help us overcome the things that seem to get in our way in building a deeper relationship with Him.

Let’s face it, we need Him and each other to get stronger in our walk and to be the salt of the earth.

Proverbs 27:17 (NKJV) 17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-16-22

Zechariah 1:3-4 (NKJV) 3 Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts. 4 “Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.” ’ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the Lord.

Hearing the word of God is good. In fact, it’s a necessity if we wish to learn and grow as a believer.

Hearing the word of God also helps our faith to grow.

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

But, in addition to hearing the word of God, we need to heed the word of God.

If we hear the word of God and fail to obey it or learn from it, then hearing it is largely useless to us.

It’s critical that we hear the word of God and then follow what we hear, obeying God to the fullest.

The Old Testament is loaded with examples of God’s prophets speaking, telling the Israelites what God wanted form them.

And yet, they failed over and over again to listen and obey Him.

People of God, let’s not be like the Israelites, ignoring God to the point of wrath.

He deserves better than this.

As we follow His desires, our lives will bring glory and honor to Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-15-22 – The Light

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

We hope you are walking more closely to God than you were last week or last month.

The very first chapter of the book of John is fascinating to read and study; especially the first 15 verses or so. This one section provides enough meat to feast on for days.

So, in today’s video, The Light, we dig into the very first section of John 1, and we break it down in a way that we’ve never done in any of our past videos.

In light of the amount of depth in this video, we’d highly recommend that you take a few minutes to watch it.

Please click here to watch it now.

And remember; no matter what we’re seeing happen around us, God is our hope.

We love you all!

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-14-22

Zechariah 1:3 (NKJV) 3 Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.

The more time we spend in God’s word, the more proof we will see that our relationship with Him is reciprocal.

We give, He gives back.

It’s important to note that this is not just referring to our finances. It goes much deeper than that.

You see, it boils down to this; He wants our whole heart, not just a piece of it.

The word of God is loaded with references to Him drawing near to us if we will draw near to Him (James 4:8).

And we are told that we will find Him if we seek Him with all our heart (Jeremiah 29:13).

It’s critical for us to understand that, with God, we get what we give (Galatians 6:7).

In other words, He wants us to take action in our walk with Him, not just be passive and complacent.

The rewards for this are endless. But we need to be careful that we don’t seek Him because we’re looking for rewards.

We seek Him because we want to know Him more deeply.

And knowing Him more deeply will forever change us.

Our heart, our actions, our thoughts and our words will all be deeply affected by a sincere, wholehearted relationship with our Father and Creator.

Draw near to Him. We dare you!

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-13-22

Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NKJV) 10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

It’s important that when we do something, we should be careful to do it with all our might.

As I personally like to say, anything worth doing is worth doing right.

And doing something right requires a 100% effort on our part.

Some might not think of this as a Biblical message. Some may say that it has nothing to do with sharing the gospel.

And while it may not relate directly to the gospel itself, it can definitely apply to the sharing of that same gospel and the efforts we make to do so.

Additionally, if God’s word says that we need to do everything with all our might, then we would do very well to heed that bit of counsel.

You see, God didn’t create us to be mediocre. He created us to serve Him with excellence!

We are to be examples of who He is in our daily lives. And He does nothing halfway. Nothing.

Jesus Himself gave His all for us; for you and for me.

So, if we are to be living examples of what God has taught us, let us do it with all our might.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-12-22

Psalm 73:28 (NKJV) 28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, That I may declare all Your works.

Battles are part of life. Yes, even for believers this is so.

In fact, as believers, battles are apt to be a bigger part of our life than if we were unbelievers.

There’s a good reason for that, but we won’t dig into all of that today!

Suffice it to say that we will all face battles as part of our walk with God.

As we face these battles, there are two things that we need to be sure we do. These two things will help us push through the battles with victory.

1. We need to be sure to stay close to God, even during our battles.

Many times, we tend to pull away from Him when we face tough situations.

Why?

Because we get in our heads and try to fix everything intellectually.

Logical thinking doesn’t win spiritual battles. A strong spirit and razor-sharp discernment do.

So, in order to have those qualities, we absolutely need to stay close to God.

And those qualities, along with perseverance, will help us win.

2. The other things we need to be sure to do is to continue to trust God with our finances.

This means that when things get tough, we don’t stop giving.

God has promised that if we give to the storehouse, He will open the heavens and bless us (Malachi 3:10).

He has also told us that He will rebuke the devourer for our sake, protecting the fruit of our ground (Malachi 3:11).

But He can only do this if we give (tithe)!

God doesn’t need our money. He owns it all anyway.

But, because our finances are valuable to us, our faithfulness in giving shows (proves) our trust in Him.

And it speaks to the enemy as well. It’s like shouting at the top of our lungs, “you can’t stop me, devil. I trust my God more than I fear you!”.

And it’s important to note that in Malachi 3:10, God tells us to test Him in this.

This is the only place in the entirety of God’s word that He says we are allowed to test Him. That is serious stuff right there.

So, let’s take God at His word, obey Him, trust Him.

Let’s draw near to Him. And let’s give as He has instructed us to do, even during our most fierce battles.

These things will show God that we trust Him, and will help bring victory no matter what we face.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-11-22

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV) 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Many believers spend much of their time seeking out their calling.

It’s understandable that this happens.

God has, after all, given each of us gifts and talents that He wants us to use to further His kingdom and bring Him glory and honor.

It’s important, though, that we don’t get so caught up in the calling that we forget the Caller.

Throughout God’s word, we are told to seek Him and His kingdom. We are also told to walk the steps that he has prepared for us.

But nowhere are we repeatedly told to seek our call.

You see, our walk with Him is absolutely the most important thing we can spend our time and effort on. Our relationship with Him is the bedrock of everything else we will ever do.

Spending our time and energy seeking anything else is essentially lost time.

Most importantly, if we are seeking Him, we will find our call. We just might not realize it at the time.

But as we press more closely in to Him, He will change our heart. And as He does that, we will begin to live out (and walk out) what He desires for us. And we will begin to walk out our call without ever having to try to figure out what that call is.

If you’d like to know more about this, you may want to watch a recent video that we released that teaches more on this topic.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-10-22

Matthew 7:1-2 (NKJV) 1 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.

Judging or finding fault with others is a big thing with Christians, and it can become a problem.

We have not become perfect and without fault just because we have become a Christian.

We still sin and we still have many things to work on. We struggle with our weaknesses. They tend to show up and remind us of this every now and then.

So, why do we point out the faults of others and ignore our own?

Most times it is because we are trying to feel better about ourselves. We don’t want to have to deal with our own sins, so if we can find someone with what we would call a “more obvious or worse sin” we tend to point it out. It is a huge distraction for most of us.

We need to get our eyes off of others and pay attention to our own sin that needs dealing with.

Some of us our dealing with things that have been with us since our childhood.

Some of us our dealing with things that have happened while we were under some sort of abusive situation.

And others are dealing with sinful addictions that we have learned to hide very well, etc.

We all have our own faults/sins, so pointing out the sins of others, and talking about it, will not take God’s eyes off of ours. Let us deal with our own faults and pray for others that need a change of heart as well.

God is faithful to help us remain humble in our hearts while listening and watching others that need help in their walk as well as us.

Finding fault and judging won’t get us anywhere but in trouble.

Job 6:24 (NKJV) 24 “Teach me, and I will hold my tongue; Cause me to understand wherein I have erred.
