Bible Verse of The Day – 1-8-22

Luke 2:11 (NKJV) 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

As we recently approached Christmas, I began to wonder what it might have been like if this had happened in our day. Our Savior being born, living in our midst.

Can we even imagine if He walked past our house?

Husband: “Who is that walking down the street?”

Wife: “Oh, that’s Jesus! He’s running an errand for his Dad, Joseph.”

I would want to follow Him and watch His every move. I would want to be His best friend! I would want to hear Him speak and listen to what He would have to say.

And that is exactly what He wants for us, even in this day and age.

He is alive and with us daily. Just not in that way.

He wants us to follow Him by reading His word. And He wants to be a very close friend to us; One we can trust with everything.

We may not be able to walk down the street with Him physically, but in our hearts. He goes everywhere we go.

Proverbs 18:24 (NKJV) 24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

He is our friend, and He sticks closer than a brother. He is born to us, our Savior, who is Christ our Lord.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-7-22

Isaiah 40:28-29 (NKJV) 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.

Sometimes the things we face in life, or even the things we spend time thinking about, can make us feel weak. They pull on us and make us weary from the thinking.

This is a normal part of being human. We are flesh and bone, with weaknesses and frailties.

If we try to bear everything that we come up against, it won’t be long before we’re completely worn down and ready to give up, throwing in the towel and surrendering to whatever it is that we are battling against.

Thankfully we don’t have to bear these things alone. God wants to help us with them. He wants us to learn to bring these things to Him and give them to Him instead of trying to pretend that we’re superhuman and invincible.

None of us is invincible; not a single one.

Jesus was our example. Despite His ability to heal the sick, deliver from demons and raise the dead, He too was frail in His humanity. He grew tired at times.

But the difference was that He knew when to pull away, spend time with the Father, and give His burdens to Him. It was this that gave Him the strength to face everything that He needed to face.

And by doing so, He overcame the enemy and the schemes that were being carried out against Him.

It’s time for us to learn from Jesus, following His lead, making sure we pull away and spend time with the Father, casting our cares upon Him.

1 Peter 5:6-7 (NKJV) 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-6-22

Proverbs 14:30 (NKJV) 30 A sound heart is life to the body, But envy is rottenness to the bones.

When people are angry or jealous, they may have a tendency to put down others that are doing good.

They can be very hurtful and negative toward them.

For many, it’s an automatic reaction from our flesh that needs to be adjusted.

As believers, we must not act out of anger or jealousy. We need to rise above it and be happy for others when they are moving forward, or when they are reaping from a season of doing good.

No one knows what they have been through to get where they are. It could have taken many years and a lot of steps of obedience and sacrifice.

They probably have had days where they were about to literally give up.

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

God is good. He does not favor any one person. He treats us all equally.

We all will reap at times from the things we have done. If someone we know is in their reaping season, dance and rejoice with them instead of getting jealous.

Luke 20:21 (NKJV) 21 Then they asked Him, saying, “Teacher, we know that You say and teach rightly, and You do not show personal favoritism, but teach the way of God in truth…

Be happy for someone today that is reaping from the good seeds they have sown. God is faithful toward all of us and He will give to us the desires of our hearts as we follow His lead and sow those seeds.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-5-22

Isaiah 40:8 NKJV) 8 The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.”

The world is anything but stable, especially during the times we’re currently living in.

Some days it seems like it can’t possibly get any crazier. But it does.

In times like what we’re living in, we need to understand that there is only One who can bring stability; God, the Creator of everything we see.

Everything around us eventually withers, fades and dies.

But God and His word stand forever.

If we have placed our hope in the things or the people around us, we will be sorely disappointed as each one will eventually let us down in one way or another.

Things will break or fail. People can hurt us or let us down in various ways.

Our one true source of stability is God. Anything or anyone else will fade away just as the grass and the flowers mentioned in the verse above.

But our God? He and His word will stand forever. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-4-22

Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

All of these fruits are good to have operating in our lives each day. Let’s take a look at them!

Love is an intense feeling of deep affection towards others. Joy is a feeling of great pleasure and happiness.

Peace is freedom from disturbance; tranquility.

Longsuffering is having or showing patience in spite of troubles, especially those caused by other people.

Kindness is the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.

Goodness is the quality of being morally good or virtuous.

Faithfulness is the quality of being faithful; fidelity.

Gentleness is the quality of being kind, tender, or mild-mannered, softness of action or effect; lightness.

Self-control is the ability to control oneself, in particular one’s emotions and desires or the expression of them in one’s behavior, especially in difficult situations.

The fruit of the Spirit working through us will cause others to say, “hey, who are they?”.

This kind of walk will make others take a second look. It will make them curious. And they too will begin to dig in and seek or ask questions.

We will stand out, not on or by our own, but by the Spirit that moves through our blood!

Acts 1:8 (NKJV) 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-3-22

James 4:6 (NKJV) 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

So often in Christianity we spend a lot of time asking for what we want God to do for us.

Over time this can become a habit, where we end up spending more time asking God what He can do for us than what we can do for Him.

Don’t take this wrong. God does want to do things for us. But when we get lopsided in our asking, then we know we’re getting off track in our walk with Him, and it has become more about us than about Him.

You see, sometimes we just need to be satisfied with knowing that He’s there. We need to rest in the fact that He’s faithful in everything, even during those times when we might feel like we’re hearing nothing from Him.

We need to be secure in knowing that He loves us, even if we don’t deserve that love.

All of these things should be enough.

This is where humility comes in.

When we grow in maturity as a believer, we will begin thinking less of ourselves and more of God and others.

This will greatly change the way we think. And that change in our thinking will change what we ask for and the way we ask, because we will be more humble and less apt to put ourselves first in everything.

Let’s learn to be satisfied and content, putting God first in everything that we do, including our asking.

We hope you’re enjoying your day and thanking God for His blessings.

We have begun to settle into our new location, and yesterday we took the time to record our newest video, Stay the Course.

This video is short and informative, so we hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-1-22

Genesis 26:12 (NKJV) 12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him.

God showed His faithfulness to Isaac as he obeyed Him and what He had told him to do.

We have to be obedient if we want to walk in the Lord’s blessings.

Some may say, “what is God saying to me right now?”.

He is saying to us what He says to all His children; sow in the land that I show you and reap a hundredfold.

Sometimes all He is saying is to start at the beginning. Start with your heart and give it to me. Give Me your heart and I will show you my will for you.

Step two; give Me your tithes and offerings and I will bless your finances and your health as you give to Me from your firstfruits.

Step three; give Me all the things that matter most to you and trust Me with them. I will take care of every little detail as you lean on Me.

So many times we want to reap God’s blessings, but these three steps interfere with receiving those blessings because we are not willing to let go or surrender fully to the Creator of our universe and Savior of our soul.

God, help us to obey. Amen.
