Bible Verse of The Day – 7-20-21

1 Chronicles 29:14 (NKJV)  14 But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You.

As David spoke to God, he voiced a divine understanding.

He had come to realize that all they had prepared and been supplied with in order to build God’s holy temple was directly from the hand of God Himself.

He understood that all things come from Him; even the things we use to do His work.

God makes provision for His work and blesses us as we obey Him.

David, and others that came to be a part of this work, gave from what they had; their skills, money, materials and labor.

David himself gave all his treasury toward building this wonderful place for God. Yet David said, “and of your own we have given to you”.

He acknowledged that all he had was really from God. It was not his.

What about us? Do we understand this concept that David understood? Or do we believe it is all ours, to do with what we want? Do we think these are our treasures to keep?

Our treasures are to be laid up in Heaven!

Matthew 6:19-20 (NKJV)  19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Here on earth, as God’s children, it is up to us to take what is given to us and be good stewards of it for the Lord.

It’s not ours. If it was, we would bring it with us when we leave this earth. But we don’t, because we can’t.

It all remains here.

What are we doing with the treasures we have been blessed with? Are we building something nice for Him or are we eating, drinking, and spending it on vanity, and things that make us happy and comfortable?

This is not to say that we can’t enjoy the blessings of the Lord. Not at all.

But living a lavish lifestyle while ignoring what God wants us to do is not for us here on this earth.

We need to feed and help the sick. We need to be there for the lonely, lost, and addicted. We need to reach the ends of the earth with the message of God’s love and salvation.

And how we get there is by praying and making it a priority, that we would be diligent with what God supplies us with for getting the job done.

David set his whole heart on doing this for God before he died. He made sure everything was in place for building God’s home.

1 Chronicles 29:3 (NKJV) 3 Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, my own special treasure of gold and silver…

What is He asking us to do today with what He has blessed us with?

The importance is not in the size, the amount, or even the scope of the project.

What’s truly important is our obedience and how we handle the treasures that are put in our hands.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-19-21

John 1:4-5 (NKJV) 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

I’ve always loved this part of the first chapter of John. These first few verses really solidify who Jesus was; God in the flesh, the second person of the Godhead.

I particularly like this section, which talks about light and darkness.

Jesus was the light.

John 8:12 (NKJV) 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

My absolute favorite part, though, is the last several words; and the darkness did not comprehend it.

At first this might not seem like much. It may even be a bit confusing because of the way it’s worded.

But if we look into the original transcripts, we will see that the word “comprehend” could also be translated as “understood” or “overcome”.

So, the darkness has not understood the light. It also has not overcome it.

If something cannot be understood, it also cannot be overcome or overtaken. It cannot be defeated. And in the case of light, the darkness cannot extinguish it.

If we think in natural terms, as long as there is light, darkness cannot have dominion. It cannot win.

Even a tiny flashlight lit in a dark room will prevent the darkness from overtaking that room.

Because Jesus was the light of men, as mentioned in verse 4, He (and His light) cannot be extinguished or overcome. His light shines in the darkness of the world in a way that the darkness (evil) can’t comprehend or overcome.

There may be times when the light seems very tiny or insignificant to our natural minds, as we see evil increase, but it will never be extinguished. And what we see in the natural is usually only our perception, not true reality.

It’s during those times of increased darkness that we need to trust God and His promises.

We need to look beyond what our natural eyes see, and know that God is always in control and still on His throne.

It may not always be easy to do, especially when evil is running rampant, but our faith in Him needs to be strong enough to overcome what we see and trust Him through it all.

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings!

We trust that you are walking closely with our heavenly Father.

As we can all attest to, these last 18 months have been challenging for everyone, no matter where you live or what your vocation may be.

Sometimes tough, challenging times can wear on us, causing us to become hard and calloused. And sometimes, that hardness can cause our heart to also become hard.

In today’s video, “While it is Still Today”, we teach about this, and share some insights from God’s word that are very helpful on this topic.

This is truly important for all of us to understand, so we hope you will take a few minutes of your day to give it a watch, and let God speak to your heart through it.

Bible Verse of the Day – 7-17-21

Galatians 4:4-5 (NKJV) 4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

Yesterday, we established that without Christ, we were slaves to tradition and rituals, lifeless in our pursuit of God.

Today, let’s take a look at what God did to fix that problem!

Verse 4 starts off by mentioning “the fullness of time”. What does that mean?

It means, at the right time; when God, in His infinite wisdom, saw fit and knew the time was right.

And what did God do at that time? He “sent forth His son”.

So, when God saw that it was the right time, He introduced His Son to the world. He ushered in the One who would change it all, bringing truth, light and freedom to a dark, enslaved world.

His son, Jesus Christ, was born of a woman, under the law.

That’s significant. Why? Because Jesus could have simply descended from heaven and shown up here. But He didn’t.

God wanted Him to be one of us; human, subject to temptation and all of the other things that we face and deal with.

He was born as an infant, helpless and dependent on His earthly parents. He had brothers and sisters. He lived and grew just as we do.

He surrendered His place in heaven to come and live among us, walk with us and, ultimately, redeem us.

He was born under the law; the very law that He came to fulfill and complete. When His work here was finished, the law was no longer relevant. He had made it so by becoming the perfect sacrifice for us all.

And why did He do that? To redeem those who were under the law, slaves to tradition, rituals and religion, sweeping us out of slavery, and ushering in the opportunity for us to live as true children of God.

No longer do we have to live under the bonds of tradition, rituals and religion.

We are free because the Son has set us free. And whom He sets free is free indeed!

John 8:36 (NKJV) 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-16-21

Galatians 4:3 (NKJV) 3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world.

This verse, along with verses 4 and 5, are very weighty. They make known to us some very deep truths that we need to understand.

Understanding them will help change the way we look at our relationship with God, our Father.

Let’s dig in!

In verse 3, we are told that when we were children, we were in bondage to the elements of the world.

What, exactly, does that mean?

First, the word “children” isn’t necessarily referring to our age. It’s referring to the state of our relationship with God, through Christ. When we initially put our faith in Christ, we were spiritual children, lacking in understanding and maturity.

As with natural things, we grow spiritually, over time, based on the effort we put forth to do so.

Next, the word “bondage” is used.

We were in bondage. We were slaves. We were not free, and likely didn’t even know it.

What were we in bondage to? Let’s take a look.

Also mentioned in verse 3 are “the elements of the world”.

This is not talking about the weather, as elements would normally be referred to.

It’s talking about spiritual principles. We were slaves to the spiritual principles of this world.

It refers to the fact that most humans adhere to very basic, ritualistic spiritual principles of religion. Everything is rote and systematic. There is no life in it. Do this. Do that. Follow the pre-defined steps you’ve been taught. Stay in your box.

This is not life in Christ. It is 100% tradition and repetition.

As you can see, our lives were, in and of themselves, lifeless.

Tomorrow, let’s look at the next verses and see what we can learn from them.

Stay tuned!

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-15-21

Mark 4:21 (NKJV) 21 Also He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand?

There are times when God will set us on a lamp-stand. That lamp-stand may not be what we think, or may not come in the way we thought.

Nevertheless, it will be what is needed in that moment, at that hour or on that day, to expose or reveal the hidden secrets and agendas that are at work.

Mark 4:22 (NKJV) 22 For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light.

Maybe today you feel like you are seeing things that are wrong, and it is so concerning. But you don’t have a voice. No one will listen to what you feel you have to say or need to say.

Maybe you feel an urgency to open up someone’s eyes or mind and you have no platform or way of saying what you feel needs to be said.

Don’t get discouraged. God will put you on a lamp-stand. It doesn’t necessarily mean a platform, a stage, or at a pulpit.

God’s lamp-stand is being in the right place at the right time, with the right heart and the right words.

These are the things that we all need to get guidance on.

Being on the lamp-stand is important. But knowing how to respond and knowing what actions to take is just as important.

Let Him provide the stand and guide our response.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-14-21

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

We are new creations in Christ. Not old with new clothing. Not old with new habits. Not old with a new coat of paint. Brand new, from the inside, out.

Why is this so important for us to understand?

Because once we grasp it, it will impact us deeply. It will change the way we think and the way we act. And if it doesn’t, then we don’t truly grasp what Christ has done.

How will we know that we’re at least starting to get it? Because we will see ourselves changing.

Our thoughts will change. The things we say (and don’t say) will change. The way we act will change.

Some things will change quickly. Others will take time. But change will be evident in our lives on a day-to-day basis as we grow and mature.

And because we’re each unique, with different sins that we wrestle with, we will each change in different ways, at different paces.

What’s important, though, is that we do see change happening. Not because we’re legalistic and have specific steps or timetables to follow, but because that outward change is evidence of God working inside us, changing our heart and transforming our minds.

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Embrace God. Allow Him to work a miracle in your heart. Let Him bring change in you. Let Him do it in His way, and His timing. For His ways are perfect.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-13-21

Philippians 3:20 (NKJV) 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ…

The average lifespan here on earth is 75 – 85 years. In light of that, we are really just passing through here. It is very short and quick.

For those who believe in Christ, born again Christians, we will not perish. Our eternal home is in heaven, where we will have everlasting life.

John 3:16 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Our time here is valuable. Wherever we step foot, we bring God’s light into dark places.

Know that our work here is not in vain. But it is to glorify our King!! God sees our obedience and our efforts to try to do good and follow Him.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (NKJV) 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Some Christians lose their footing when they lose a family member or when tragedy hits close to home.

Things like this can sometimes cause us to forget Who we belong to and where we are all heading.

It can cause us to forget our purpose here, and that we need to continue to be steadfast and immovable in what we have been called to do.

This is just a reminder to those today who may have taken a hit close to home.

It’s not over. Pick up the pieces and let God help you move forward in whatever it is that we need to do here and now, one step at a time.

As Paul says, be steadfast and immovable, right to the end.

Our prayers are with you all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-12-21

Ephesians 2:4-6 (NKJV) 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus…

We were dead in our trespasses (sins). But we are alive now.

Why?

Because God saw fit, in His mercy toward us (because of His great love), to make us alive together with Christ.

And if that wasn’t enough, He raised us up to sit together with Christ in heavenly places!

When I read this and it really sank in, my mind was blown. It just knocked me for a loop to know that God took me, a dead person, immersed in the sinful ways of the world, and made me alive in Christ.

He didn’t just paint over the old me. He made me new, washed in the blood of Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

I am no longer that same person. And if you have been washed in that same blood, neither are you the same person.

Oh, the old me or you may try to rear its ugly head at times, but if we submit to the Holy Spirit, that won’t last long. And as we mature in Christ, the old us will eventually stay dead and buried.

Think about the enormity of that fact; that we were dead but have been made alive in Him.

This is truly incomprehensible for the human mind; impossible to fully grasp.

It is true, nonetheless!

And once we start to grasp that truth, it will change the way we think and the way we live our lives.

It will cause us to carefully consider every choice we make, whether big or small, and listen more carefully for the voice of the Holy Spirit, so we can follow His leading and walk the path of life, leaving behind the paths of the old, dead man that we once were.

We were dead, but are now alive in Christ.

Bible Verse of The Day – 7-10-21

2 Samuel 24:24 (NKJV) 24 Then the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God with that which costs me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

David was not going to give God something that cost him nothing. He made sure he bought the threshing floor that Araunah wanted to just give to him freely.

David was not going to offer God a burnt offering where there hadn’t been some kind of sacrifice on his part. He wanted it to mean something.

Someone may say today, ”I don’t know what God would like from me. What could I ever give Him that’s worth anything?”.

One thing for sure is that He wants our whole heart.

He wants a man, woman, young adult, child, etc. to have a heart after His that will love Him sincerely.

David had a heart after God. That is so very important.

Yes, David sinned, just like we will slip at times no matter how hard we try.

But repentance is there for us, allowing us to get back up. Getting our heart right with God is what we can give Him today.

1 Samuel 13:14 (NKJV) 14 But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”

Letting go of the things that pull on us and take us away from Him, or put distance between us, is a sacrifice that we will feel.

And there may be times when we want those things back. But stand strong and finish the job by cutting them off completely.

The other thing that God wants from us is to worship Him with our firstfruits from our finances.

This is a sacrifice that we will feel at first, but it will soon become an honor.

Our finances can be a big thing in our lives. Money is looked at as what makes us or breaks us. The more we have, the more comfortable we feel.

But if we give to God first, His word promises He will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings.

Malachi 3:10 (NKJV) 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.

The next thing is our minds. As we give to Him our old ways of doing things, He will help us learn the correct way of doing them, training us up in the way we should go.

Give Him all our mind and let Him transform it. We will feel this one too, especially when we want to do something and we feel His conviction telling us it’s not good for us. This is hard stuff at first.

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

It all starts with our heart; the rest will fall in place.

Would you like to take the first step today and give your heart to God? Pray the prayer with us below.

Dear God,

I’m here, and today I want to dedicate my heart to You. I have lived this life without you for so long. I repent and ask You to forgive me for my prior lifestyle. I want to change, even if it means giving up things that I have loved to do, and I want to walk with You, I want to let go of all of it today. Please take my heart and my hand, mold me and make me who You want me to become.

I give you me today. Thank you, In Jesus’ name. Amen.
