Bible Verse of The Day – 4-18-21

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings, brothers and sisters in Christ!

A couple of weeks ago I read a group of scriptures that really caught my attention.

In these verses, Jesus openly rebuked a demon and cast him out of a man.

Casting it out wasn’t what caught my attention. How He shut the demon down was.

He gave the demon no room to speak; no voice.

No Voice is the title of our newest video, where we teach on this particular pair of verses.

It’s a short video and very to the point, so we hope you will watch it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Enjoy your day!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-17-21

Exodus 14:14 (NKJV) 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

We are living in times where we need to know when to pull back and hold our peace. Be still. Don’t make a move. Don’t say a word.

There is a move of God coming that will be loud and clear.

You see, when God moves, there is no questioning it, and no trying to get out of it.

Manipulation will not work with Him.

It is what it is. It will be what He calls it. Kind of like the referee; when he calls you out, you’re out! Final word. No appeals allowed.

I have seen people throughout my life fight God on some things. They thought they could change the outcome of something. But it remained the way it needed to be.

Sometimes we just want it to be our way. We don’t care at the time about the circumstances or the big picture. We just want to see something take place, something that will give us great satisfaction.

As humans, that’s what it is. We want to see it our way most times.

Let me say, that as we begin to trust God enough to fight for us, we will actually become winners. We will be strong in our going out and our coming in.

Joshua 14:11 (NKJV) 11 As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in.

Hold our peace today. Trust Him to fight for us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-16-21

Luke 1:50 (NKJV) 50 And His mercy is on those who fear Him From generation to generation.

God’s mercy is often thought of as a very large blanket that covers everyone, relieving them of the consequences of their sins.

This is partially true. But believing it only in its partial form can create problems.

If we believe that God’s mercy will fall on everyone, just because, then we are mistaken.

This would be akin to saying and believing that because Jesus died to offer redemption to everyone, that everyone will automatically receive it and be saved. This is incorrect.

There are a few key verses throughout the Bible that shed some light on His mercy, and who He offers it to.

The verse above is one of them. And look at what it says; His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.

You see, as with so much else about God, there is action and a commitment required on our end.

Yes, I know that can sound kind of strange to some because we have been somewhat conditioned to believe that everything God offers us is unconditional.

That, though, is a heresy. It’s a lie that has been propagated by false teachings, and it has deceived many, lulling them into complacency.

God wants to show us mercy. But He first requires that we ask for it. And then He wants us to be committed to Him, not just come to Him for mercy and then be on our way, continuing in sin and irreverence toward Him and His truth.

It’s important that we all understand this, so we will walk in it, and so that we can share it with others, giving them truth and hope for their lives and their eternal destiny.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-15-21

John 3:16 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

My 86 year old Dad passed away last week. He was a strong believer in Jesus Christ!

I laid on the bed beside him and watched him take his last breath. He had liver cancer and was fading quickly.

Toward the end, he realized and said to me, after struggling to breathe, “I can’t beat it this time”.

It was sad to hear these words from him. But at the same time, I was happy for his sake. He knew it was time to go.

I said, “it’s OK Dad, you don’t have to beat it”. I said, “I love you”. And he mustered up the strength and said, “I love you too.”

He was a fighter. But the fight was over and it was time for him to rest in God’s arms. It was his time to go home.

I know many of you have lost loved ones. And you are hurting from their absence. You feel that you would do anything to have them back right now. I know this feeling.

But, remember how blessed we are to have a wonderful Heavenly Father that holds our dear ones in His arms.

It’s not like we don’t know where they are. Jesus said to the thief on the cross, today you will be with me in paradise. For that I am ever so grateful!

Luke 23:43 (NKJV) 43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

We can’t have them back. And, no, we will not interact with them here on earth again.

But God will give us peace to live on without them. And some day we will be together with them in Heaven, if we and they have put our faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Today, if you suffer from the emptiness of the loss of a loved one, let God fill you with His comfort, His healing and His strength.

I’m telling you, without Him I would be so hollow. But with Him I am full.

He gives me the strength to go on. He gives me the stability to keep on keeping on through life’s difficulties.

Lean on His everlasting arms and He will give you what you need today.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-14-21

Mark 14:36 (NKJV) 36 And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.”

As a young believer, I remember reading this and being struck by the fact that Jesus set Himself and His will aside and gave preference to His Father’s will in this situation.

This was a big deal, because it wasn’t a minor decision or choice. That choice cost Him His life.

Today, over 40 years later, I am still in awe at this. And I try to use this as my model for obedience to my Father in heaven.

I have never been in a situation where my obedience would cost me my life. But I try to live out my walk with God as though it may someday come to that. And it may very well as we surge ahead in this season we are walking out. Only God knows.

I frequently try to picture in my mind what it must have been like for Jesus, as He literally wrestled with His flesh, determined to make the right choice and obey His Father.

And, as we all know, in the end He did the right thing. He made the hard choice. He walked it out, ending with His death on the brutal Roman cross of shame.

But that choice gave each of us the opportunity for new life in Him; a life of redemption and forgiveness, free from the consequences of our sinful past.

Thank you, Jesus, for your obedience. Thank you for being willing to go all the way to the finish line, and for not backing down when the rubber met the road.

Let us each have the conviction and the courage to do the same in our day-to-day lives, taking our faith seriously, as it should be.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-13-21

1 Kings 3:7 (NKJV) 7 Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king instead of my father David, but I am a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in.

Here, Solomon is asking the Lord to help him in the position that He set him up in. This is a very important detail.

The Lord had placed Solomon where he was. And Solomon is speaking to the Lord saying, “you have made me king, but I don’t understand how or what to do. Please help me, guide me and give me Your understanding to handle this position. The people of Israel are too numerous for me to handle and I need Your understanding to know how”.

1 Kings 3:8-9 (NKJV) 8 And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a great people, too numerous to be numbered or counted. 9 Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”

Don’t ever be afraid to ask God how.

He expects us to come to Him and ask whatever we may need from Him.

If we are shy or too prideful to ask, we will risk losing what He has placed in our hands.

You see, just because He places us in a position or on a new job doesn’t mean it’s ours forever. Maybe He has given us something to handle and take care of for a season or time.

God will guide us as to what to do, and how He wants it to be carried out.

God is moving His children into areas and places we’ve never been before, doing things we have never dealt with before; new ground and unfamiliar territory.

We are not alone. God Himself is with us all the more. Call on His name for help and clarity.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-12-21

Mark 13:35-36 (NKJV) 35 Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping.

As we move forward with this devotional, I’d like to focus on the very last phrase, which is verse 36. But I’d like to pull it from another translation (NLT), that I feel words it better.

Don’t let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning“.

As we have taught frequently during the last several months, we are living in a season that requires heightened awareness and sharpened discernment.

It is absolutely critical that we have our eyes wide open and be sure we are wide awake.

We have surged ahead on the timeline of events that are leading to the end days.

No, I’m not saying or insinuating that Jesus will return next week. I have no such knowledge.

I am saying, though, that we are now living in a time when we need to be ever so watchful.

Much of what we see isn’t as it would appear, and it’s critical that we be able to look beyond what we see with our natural eyes, and discern with the Spirit of God to see what’s really happening.

The days of heavy persecution of believers, even in “free countries”, are looming and are actually upon us in many ways.

People who live by God’s word and the values He has taught us are falling under increasing persecution, and even exclusion from much of today’s cultures.

This is evidenced by lawsuits against people of faith who stand firmly on Biblical truths and refuse to participate in things that are contrary to God’s word.

It is evidenced further by the removal of books by conservative authors from well-known websites and retail book sellers.

And we can see the culmination of it in the removal of videos and other digital media from many of the well-known media-sharing websites and popular social media portals.

Make no mistake. This is a blatant attempt to silence our voices. It is a devilish plot to eliminate us from all parts of society that offer us any influence whatsoever on those who may want to learn more about God and His truths.

So, we need to be ever so diligent in continuing to stand for truth, not backing down in fear.

More importantly, we need to be sure that we actually recognize truth and are able to separate it from lies and deception. And in doing this, we need to make sure that we are awake, and not lulled to sleep by lies and deception.

Don’t let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning“.

The time is now, church, to be sure we are wide awake.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-10-21

1 Kings 2:3 (NKJV) 3 And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn…

And keep the charge of the Lord your God.

What is that charge? To Walk in His ways, keep His statutes, His commandments, judgement and testimonies.

This is how we may prosper in all that we do and wherever we go.

Some people think they just need to pray and then it happens.

But, in reality, the verse above shows us how we establish a continual flow of God’s provision.

As we keep His charge, the Lord continues to prosper and grant success to those who walk in His ways.

If we live in constant lack and heavy stress then it may be time to change some things up.

Why would we stay in this situation if it is not pleasant and we have the opportunity to change it? Why would we not want to move and take the steps toward a better way that God has shown us?

We have to choose. It doesn’t choose us. And when we choose to walk in His ways, we choose RIGHTLY!!

And we will know it by the fruit that we see coming from our choices.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-9-21

James 1:12 (NKJV) 12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Temptation comes to us all. Not one of us is exempt.

What we are tempted by will vary from person to person.

We all have different weaknesses. It’s those weaknesses that cause us to be pulled in the direction of things that can destroy us or do great harm to us and those around us.

It’s up to us to take the necessary steps to disarm the devil in his war against us.

We do this in different ways, depending on who we are and what we wrestle with.

In the end, though, there is common ground between us all. And the steps we take to stay away from these sins is also similar.

1. Stay in God’s word. Feast on it. We can’t fight if we’re not strong. We can’t be strong if we’re under-nourished.

2. Learn to hate the sin that ensnares us. Until we hate the sin, we will continue to gravitate back to it, toying with it until we fall into that same sin again and again.

3. Don’t tempt God. We can’t expect to fight temptation and escape sin if we constantly flirt with it. The Holy Spirit will warn us, and He will help us turn from it. But if we constantly throw ourselves at the sin, it will eventually win and it will defeat us.

James 1:14 (NKJV) 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.

4. We need to know and understand that when temptation comes (and it will come), God will always, always, always provide a way of escape. He will never leave us cornered and helpless. We just have to be willing to turn from it.

On that note, I want to mention one last thing; something very specific that we often overlook.

God’s way of escaping temptation will seldom be anything that we would view as being miraculous. In fact, it’s usually so simple and lackluster that we fail to recognize it.

It’s this; we simply turn and walk away from it.

God gives us the ability to do this. He provides the warning, the opening, and the strength to walk away. We just have to be willing to listen, understand and obey His leading and His promptings.

So, if we’re looking for lightning bolts or rumblings of thunder from the sky, it’s time that we get back to reality and recognize how God works on a daily basis.

Regardless of His methods, He is faithful.

And He gives us what it takes to do the same; be faithful.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-8-21

Psalm 147:3  (NKJV) 3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

Sometimes our hearts are broken.

Sometimes we go through things that can take the wind out of our sails.

It makes us feel like we have no strength or desire to want to push forward.

It can do damage to our hearts and cause our minds to crash.

Maybe the one we loved told us they lost interest in us. Maybe our child moved out and totally ditched us as their parents. Maybe our best friend left us, too busy to spend time with us. Or maybe we lost a loved one.

We all face things. Our heart aches and it hurts.

Maybe we don’t feel your pain right now the way you do. And no, we may not know exactly how broken you are, or how deep the wound is.

But we can help each other if we all stand together in times of brokenness, in times of hardship, in times of change or loss.

God knows how far off the path we might have gone because we just don’t care about anything right now. Everything seems so meaningless.

It’s time to understand that the pain and hurt in our heart will not subside by running, pretending, and/or by turning our back on Him.

Our pain will go when we let God comfort us with His love, and touch us with His hand.

That is when it will subside.

Until then it will continue to hurt. We will continue to be broken. Our feelings on this subject will not just go away or change.

We need Him and His healing touch.

How long will we prolong it?

Go to God in the name of His precious Son, Jesus, and ask for His comfort and healing for our broken heart. He will heal and bind up that wound for us.

In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
