Bible Verse of The Day – 9-8-20

Deuteronomy 10:16 (NKJV) 16 Therefore circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and be stiff-necked no longer.

An uncircumcised heart is a hard heart. And with anything that is hard, nothing can penetrate it. Our hearts are closed to whatever God may suggest.

That layer of hardness has to come off if we ever want to fully follow God. It is a circumcision that must take place if we want to grow and walk in obedience, living out the life God so desires for us.

How do we get that layer of skin off our heart? We surrender our ideas and plans to Him. Pick up His word and apply it to our everyday life.

Circumcision takes time, and some of us may have many layers, depending on what we have been involved with or what kinds of things we have been through.

So, it won’t just happen overnight.

There may be bumps on the road to healing, as well. But like most surgeries, we will get through it in time.

The surgery will begin when we give authorization by saying, “I surrender to You, Lord.”

It’s time to get rid of the hard heart and enter into a relationship with a brand new heart and spirit.

Ezekiel 36:26 (NKJV) 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-7-20

Ezekiel 12:2 (NKJV) 2 “Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, which has eyes to see but does not see, and ears to hear but does not hear; for they are a rebellious house.

God has given us all eyes to see with. We all know this. It’s obvious because our eyes are plainly visible on the front of our faces.

God has, however, also given us eyes to see with that are not so obvious. He has given us spiritual eyes.

Our natural eyes are easy to see with. They just work. They require no extra effort to discern what we are seeing.

Our spiritual eyes, though, do require some effort on our part in order to discern and understand what they see. In fact, they require training on our part in order to see with them at all.

The more we use them, and the more we allow God to train us, the better our “vision” will become.

It is becoming more and more clear that this year, 2020, is very symbolic, as we lean on God for clarity of vision.

We need His spirit to help us discern what we’re seeing.

Without Him it is difficult to cut through the noise and atmospheric (spiritual) clutter and see clearly. But He gives us what we need to see Him moving in the midst of all of the turmoil.

Don’t close your eyes, church. Don’t just turn away in the midst of what we’re seeing happen.

We may not like what we see. It may be troubling and even disturbing. But God is still on the throne and He is on the move, even in the middle of the chaos and confusion.

Our God is a warrior, and He wins every time.

Trust Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-5-20

Nahum 1:7 (NKJV) 7 The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.

I love this reminder today.

He, the Lord, is good! Amen.

When we are in trouble, He is good. But I like what it says after that. I find it very important.

“He knows those who trust in Him.”

In other words, we cannot fake it. We either trust Him or we don’t. We can not one day say, “Oh, Lord I trust you with everything”, and then the next day say, “things are getting shaky Lord, I’m skipping the trusting part for a while.”

No. We either do or we don’t.

What does His word promise us if we do trust Him?

He, the Lord, is our STRONGHOLD! Amen.

The definition of stronghold is: a place that has been fortified so as to protect it against attack.

Our protection is in trusting Him.

How many need this today?

Things have been very difficult. Attacks are wearing us out. They are right here in our midst.

Sometimes we can hardly breathe we are so troubled. We don’t need to run or even hide. God’s got this.

Two words for you to hold onto today; TRUST HIM!

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-4-20

John 21:6 (NKJV) 6 And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish.

The disciples had fished all night, and they had caught nothing.

It’s not that they didn’t know what to do. They were fishermen by trade. They knew how to catch fish!

But for whatever reason, this particular night they had not been successful. It happens sometimes, even for those with lots of experience.

They were tired and ready to call it quits when Jesus called out to them from the shore and told them to try throwing their nets out on a specific side of the boat.

So, they listened and did what the Master told them to do. And they immediately caught more fish than their nets should have been able to hold. Not only did they catch fish, but they caught large fish. 153 of them!

Sometimes we might get stuck doing the same things we have always done in the same way that we have always done them, over and over again. We never think about doing it differently.

This can apply to just about anything. Maybe it’s the way we spend our time with God. Maybe it’s how we pray or how we worship Him. Maybe it’s our daily walk.

Maybe it’s something entirely different than any of these things and it has nothing to do directly with our walk with God, but with listening for His guidance and instructions.

If we’re not listening to the leading of the holy Spirit, we may be just spinning our wheels.

Are we in a “dead end”, so to speak, in our walk with God?

Do we feel like we’re just going through the motions? Sometimes that’s because we are going through the motions.

We need to let God show us how to change things. We need to let Him show us what to do and how to do it, even in things related to our work, our daily tasks, etc.

This may not sound very spiritual in nature. It may seem more like a self-help message than the Gospel.

But to those that might think that, I say this; look at what happened to the Disciples when they listened to Jesus and threw their net out on the right side of the boat.

Not only did they catch more fish than they expected, but it’s safe to say it changed their hearts and, ultimately, their lives.

Cast your net out on the right side of the boat!

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-3-20

Deuteronomy 1:31 (NKJV) 31 and in the wilderness where you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place.’

What stood out to me and spoke to my heart as I read this today were the words, “the Lord your God carried you, as a man carries his son.”

I’m going to share with you a personal experience that I had with God during a time when He carried me.

I was overwhelmed from news I had just gotten. And I was very tired at the time from helping others get through the very same thing.

I was dealing with SHOCK, let-down or a hard hit; whatever you want to call it!

I didn’t take a moment to care about myself and what I felt.

It was as if I was numb, but I had to move forward because of the cries I heard beside me.

Others that were hurting and confused, so I stepped right in and started caring for them. I felt their need for help was much greater than mine.

How many know what I’m talking about? You just do it. You put yourself aside for the greater need and you just move.

All I can say is, God! He knew.

It’s in those times you feel and see the reality of Him and His “Daddy arms”.

I had all I could do just to breathe at times.

But, it’s in those moments that you either plop into His arms and let Him carry you, or you die trying to make it on your own strength.

I was not helping others on my own. The strength to push on and go beyond what I felt was His! I just had to trust Him. That’s it.

In my moment of numbness, confusion, and just plain feeling overwhelmed, I chose to plop myself right in His arms and trust Him completely.

He carried me through as I helped others. And we all came through together, miraculously! Amen.

Daddy’s arms are open wide. Plop and let Him carry you today.

Psalm 16:1 (NKJV) 16 Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-2-20

Galatians 3:13 (NKJV) 13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),

As believers in and followers of Christ, we have been redeemed.

If we have put our faith in Him and trusted Him for the salvation of our souls, then our sins have been forgiven. They have been washed away. Forgotten. Removed from us as far as the east is from the west, as the Bible says (Psalm 103:12).

Today I’d like to spend some time discussing the word, “redeemed”. I believe it’s one of the most powerful words in the entirety of God’s word.

I also believe it’s a word that has lost its power in the hearts and minds of believers.

We have almost become desensitized to what it really means. So, let’s dig in a little and see what we find.

Redeem: to buy or pay off, clear by payment, to discharge or fulfill (a pledge, promise, etc.). To free, liberate, rescue or save.

The scripture above refers specifically to us being redeemed from the curse of the law. In reality, though, it goes even deeper than that.

We have been redeemed from the consequences of our actions; our sin.

He bought us back. He paid for us.

We were bought at a price; a very steep price, at that.

1 Corinthians 6:20 (NKJV) 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

He exchanged His life for ours. That single statement is the most incredible thing, and the most difficult to truly comprehend; that God in the flesh (Immanuel, God with us) chose to voluntarily lay His life down in exchange for ours, to wipe out our sin and give us direct access to the Father, the Creator of all we see.

The implications and the ramifications of this are truly mind-blowing when we begin to comprehend it even a little.

And when we really start to wrap our heads around it, it will change the way we think about everything and the way we see everything about God and our walk with Him.

Redemption literally means that Christ purchased us from slavery to sin, and from the sentence of eternal death (eternal separation from God).

And that is what redemption means. That is what being redeemed truly means for you and for me.

Ponder on this for a while. Meditate on it. Spend some time taking it in and letting it penetrate your being.

Once you get it, you will never look at anything the same way again when it comes to your walk with God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-1-20

Deuteronomy 4:36 (NKJV) 36 Out of heaven He let you hear His voice, that He might instruct you; on earth He showed you His great fire, and you heard His words out of the midst of the fire.

God spoke to the Israelites, and Moses said in this verse, they “heard His words”. We may say at times that God doesn’t speak to us. But rest assured that when it comes to getting instructions, He will speak.

We need to stay open to Him and listen. He will let us hear His words.

Don’t think for a moment that He wants us to walk through this life blinded. He is more concerned about our walk here than we could ever imagine.

He stayed with that generation of Israelites until the end. They didn’t make it to the promised land. However, God provided for them. And they lacked nothing while they were alive.

Yes, even after pulling their little shenanigans, God still took care of them.

He is such a merciful God. He is a personal, One-on-one God and He will give us clear-cut steps.

He wants all His children to experience this type of provision, if we haven’t already.

It is so amazing!

It is so beautiful when we fully grasp the fact that God will lead us carefully through the wilderness areas of our life, and much more.

The Israelites were a blessed nation because they were God’s people.

We too are God’s children, and He wants us to walk in His blessings every day, all day!

Galatians 3:26 (NKJV) 26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

Let us praise Him today for His guidance in our own personal lives.

What can you share with us today that God blessed you with and you knew it was His provision? Let us know!
