Bible Verse of The Day – 9-30-20

Ephesians 5:25 (NKJV) 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her…

I’m writing this message with an urgency, for all believers who read this, to hear it and take it to heart.

I am a husband, father and grandfather. I am a man of God who has been married for almost 38 years, which I believe qualifies me to speak on this topic from a Biblical point of view with at least some semblance of knowledge and authority on it.

My beautiful bride and I write almost daily on varying topics of importance to the body of Christ.

As we have written recently, the traditional (Biblical) definition of a family is (and has been for some time now) under a brutal attack by very dark, very evil forces.

Men, women and children have been having unholy (unscriptural) definitions and concepts of family, marriage and sexual relations pushed on us from just about every angle for a few decades now, with ever-increasing frequency and intensity during the last 15 years.

While some have stood adamantly and very vocally against this, others have been more timid and shy when it comes to speaking out and resisting what our children are being taught in most public schools and by society as a whole.

Some of this timidity has been due to not wanting to cause waves or stir up dissension. Others have held back because they weren’t sure how Christ-like it might be to speak out. Political correctness, which has also been forced on us, has caused people to become afraid to take a stand.

Still others have held back because they don’t like conflict.

I am here today, in this moment, to boldly proclaim that there is little time left for indecision. The time to stand up and speak out is now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Today. Right now.

It’s time for believers to stand for what God says is right, holy and pure.

As a man, I am urging other men of faith to stand up and be the head of the household that God has placed you over.

We have an obligation, a duty that has been assigned by God Himself.

I will continue this message tomorrow, so please be sure to read it.

In the meantime, I urge you to seek God and press in to Him. Ask Him to prepare your heart for what He is asking you to undertake.

More on this tomorrow.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-29-20

Proverbs 13:4 (NKJV) 4 The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.

If we want to make the most of our lives while we are here on earth, we must be willing to surrender to God and obey Him.

There is such a reward in obedience.

I had a vision one day and I’d like to share it with you.

I was on top of a very high mountain. The highest in the land.

On one side of me was the devil saying, “I love evil”. He was making a motion to try to grab and kill me.

Over my head was the cross, forming a shield or ring of protection.

In front of me was the Bible, and under my feet was a ladder that led me to the top of that mountain.

On each step of that ladder the word “obey” was written across it.

Most importantly, God showed me my heart. It was huge inside of me!

You see, when we begin to love God with all our heart, it will cause us to want such obedience in our walk.

Every step of obedience I would take would lead me higher, toward the very top of that mountain.

I know with Moses, God would often meet him on the mountain. A lot of things happened with Moses on the mountain.

Symbolically speaking, God wants us all on that mountaintop with Him.

Yes, the enemy will try and fight us, to prevent us from getting there. He may be a big distraction at times.

We may also want and desire things after our flesh that can keep us from getting closer to the top.

But if we listen and follow God instead, how much more blessed will that mountaintop walk with Him be every day? Praise be to God!

We all want to do right by God. And we can, as we obey Him one step up that ladder at a time.

1 Samuel 15:22 (NKJV) 22 So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.

We may have good intentions but not quite what God is looking or asking for. He will pinpoint it, but it’s up to us to nail it.

Maybe today we have not asked God to be our Father, we just took it for granted that He is.

Make it happen. Repent and ask for His Son Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior.

Make it personal and let Him have first place in all we do.

Maybe we have never given to Him from our firstfruits and we say, “I never have been able to and now today I am ready to make that commitment”.

Take that step of obedience and don’t look back. He will provide for your every need.

Maybe our motives, our mouths and actions have not been what we know they should be. We want to turn a new leaf and start taking that step of obedience today.

We don’t’ know where anyone is at on this ladder, but every step we take is so very important.

Be diligent in taking the next one. We shall be made rich in His blessing as we obey.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-28-20

2 Corinthians 6:17 (NKJV) 17 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”

This is a verse that I haven’t read, thought about or pondered on for a long time.

But today God brought it back to my remembrance. And I knew it was time for me to take another, deeper look at it.

Most believers already know that this verse does not mean that we are to literally, physically separate ourselves from unbelievers. This would be virtually impossible.

Additionally, doing so would not fit what God’s word tells us when it comes to being a light to a dark world, being a city on a hill (Matthew 5:14) or not hiding our light under a basket (Matthew 5:15).

We need to let our light so shine before men! And we can’t do that if we do not interact with others.

Matthew 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

So, now that we have firmly established that fact, let’s look more closely at what it means to be separate while not being separated.

It’s important that we understand that this verse is really speaking symbolically about our behavior, which stems from what’s in our hearts. What’s in our hearts will manifest outwardly in our actions, even if our words might say something different.

As long as our heart is still united with the things of the world, our outward actions will not change enough to significantly matter.

Paul actually took pieces of this verse from Isaiah 52:11, where the Israelites were commanded to remove themselves from their lands of exile and return home to Jerusalem, but not to bring any of the idols from their foreign lands home with them.

Similarly, we need to be sure not to bring pieces of the world with us as we mature from earthly (carnal) thinking to heavenly (Godly, Spirit-led) thinking.

It is irrational (unreasonable, illogical, absurd) to think that we, as believers, can be united with (bound to, joined together with) unbelievers and the ways (the habits and the thinking) of the world in our actions and our behavior.

Jesus was our example in this as He walked this earth, interacting with others from all walks of life without taking on their habits or behavior. He remained pure from start to finish.

This was confirmed for us here in Hebrews;

Hebrews 7:26 (NKJV) 26 For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;

It’s time for us to take this seriously and put action behind our words.

It’s time for us to let God circumcise our hearts once and for all, helping us to shed those foreskins (the idols of our former lives) that keep us tied to the ways of the world.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-27-20 – The Beginning of Knowledge

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

God’s word tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.

In our newest video, The Beginning of Knowledge, we discuss what this means for believers, especially during the spiritual season we’re currently living in.

We believe it will shed some light on many of the things that we have all been wrestling with on several different levels. So, we hope you will take a few minutes and watch it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-26-20

1 Corinthians 13:13 (NKJV) 13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Love is the greatest and most powerful thing we can spend time getting good at.

Loving someone who is good to us is oh so easy. But loving someone we don’t even know or like is so hard.

We cannot do it on our own. We need God’s compassion and strength to stick with it and be steadfast in loving one another.

Oh sure, we can walk away from people that make us feel uncomfortable or drive us crazy. But is that really what God wants?

Trying to love someone that is completely opposite of us can be very difficult. But we can always find a way to work it out.

As a matter a fact, we can actually learn a lot by loving someone that is opposite from us.

In our own marriage, we are very opposite in many ways. But we love each other deeply.

So, no matter how opposite we are, when we are apart from each other even for a short time, we very much look forward to being together again. We miss each other even if we are just out and about doing separate things.

How does this happen when we are so opposite? How can we even stand being around each other with such different ways of doing things?

It’s love! Love that goes beyond just emotions and feelings.

It holds us together like glue and causes us to keep pressing forward, understanding that there is more to learn in life than what we already know.

Love teaches us that there are always other ways of handling things or doing things.

Love isn’t just a feeling. It is an action we all need to take if we want a better marriage, a better friendship, a better workplace setting and a better world to live in.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-25-20

John 18:10 (NKJV) 10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.

Separating the natural from the spiritual can sometimes be a very hard thing to do.

Our flesh is strong, and our natural man wants to rule over everything if we’re not careful.

Peter often wrestled with this, even though he went on to become a powerhouse for the kingdom of God after Jesus had ascended.

The event in the scripture above took place as Jesus was about to be arrested and then taken before the high priest to be charged with blasphemy, and then ultimately crucified.

Jesus knew this had to happen. And He obviously understood the spiritual implications and what was really at stake. But Peter reacted in the flesh and was ready to take on the guards that had come to arrest Jesus.

It was a lack of discernment that caused Peter to react in the flesh.

And this wasn’t the first time it had happened.

Matthew 16:23 (NKJV) 23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

In this verse, Jesus had scolded Peter and told him very plainly that he was not mindful of the things of God (spiritual things), but of the things of men (carnal things).

In these times of high levels of conflict, chaos and spiritual warfare, it’s imperative that we not let ourselves “get in the flesh” and react as Peter did with his sword.

There is a time for swords in the natural and a time for swords in the spiritual realm. It’s up to us to discern which time is which and wield the correct sword.

This is why it’s necessary for us to spend ample time in the word of God, to teach us and prepare us for battle.

Let’s not be like Peter, cutting off the ear of the guard when we should be wielding the sword of the Spirit.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-24-20

Philippians 4:7 (NKJV) 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Do we suffer from anxiety? Do we wake up at night gasping for air, panicking over something that is weighing on our minds?

We’ve been there. It’s frustrating.

After struggling through a night of broken sleep, we do our best to go about our day and find some kind of peace. And then, out of nowhere, we’re reminded of our situation. Finding peace in that can be difficult.

But God’s peace surpasses all understanding. To surpass means to exceed; be greater than.

Sometimes when we are anxious or worried about something, we don’t want to hear about God’s peace. We want something done about the situation we are in. Peace is not what we think we need at that moment.

But, it is the very thing we need to have if we want to move forward and work things out.

We can not be moved by anxiety. We can not be moved by our fear. We can not be moved by a lack of understanding. We can not move forward without God’s peace.

The peace of God upon us will move us in the direction we need to go. It will guard our heart and mind and keep us on the right track.

God’s peace surpasses, or should we say, exceeds and is greater than all understanding.

Get God’s peace. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-23-20

John 8:58 (NKJV) 58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

Jesus had a way of shaking things up. He did and said things that were so spiritually deep that people had trouble comprehending them.

And the religious leaders of His time literally wanted to kill Him because of some of these things that He said.

Of all the things Jesus said, this particular one is a favorite of mine for a couple reasons.

First, because it really set things on fire with the pharisees!

Second, because it reveals some things about Jesus that go really, really deep.

Jesus came here as a human being. He lived in a flesh and bone body, just like you and I. But what He said and did could only be done by God himself.

John 8:58, the verse above, ties in perfectly with John 1:1, proving the deity of Jesus, as well as confirming His eternal existence as part of the triune Godhead (The Trinity).

Think about it. In the verse above, Jesus boldly proclaimed that He was Yahweh, the Lord of the Old Testament, and the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Talk about stirring things up!

The thing is that Jesus didn’t say this necessarily to stir the pot. He said it to proclaim who He was, so people would see Him as more than just the son of Joseph the carpenter.

He wanted people to get understanding and see God moving in their midst. And He didn’t care if it set the religious leaders on their heads, so to speak.

Think about what this means for you and me. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is God, who chose to come to earth in human form, see things through eyes like ours, feel the things that we feel, and then give His life for us, to buy our redemption by His blood.

That is truly incredible and beyond comprehension for our human minds.

It is also incredibly reassuring for all of us, knowing the lengths that God went to, and the sacrifices He was willing to make, to save us.

So, the next time your walk with God begins to get that ho-hum feeling, remember; Immanuel, God with us.

That single concept right there is enough to stir us up and bring us back to the reality of the incredible God we serve.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-22-20

Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) 19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

We are so excited to share with you that Seven Seas Ministries is growing and reaching so many people all around the world these days!

Who would have known that there would have been a worldwide pandemic that would keep people from gathering and going to church?

But God knew, and He used this online ministry to be there for those that had nowhere to go.

It’s an honor to be here for all those who were without their church family.

Through all of this, we have picked up many new followers, family and friends during this time of hardship for many. Praise be to God. He is so faithful!

We are appreciative to all of you for your help. We have not skipped a beat.

If anything, we have been working harder, going stronger. God is taking us all to a whole new level.

We take Him at His word every day. We know He supplies you with all your needs. Hallelujah… He is our Provider!

Genesis 22:14 (NKJV) 14 And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”

Some of you have written with prayer requests throughout the year. Our book of prayer requests is growing, and we feel responsible to keep on lifting each one up until we hear back from you, letting us know that you have gotten your answer or your breakthrough.

With that in mind, we ask you, please, if God has provided for your prior need, and you are now in another place regarding your situation, just send us an email to let us know.

We will take your name from the book of requested prayers and put you in the “answered prayer” book.

We know without a doubt that He has already answered many and will be coming through for many more of you with an answer. It’s just a matter of time.

We love you dearly!

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-21-20

Matthew 7:20 (NKJV) 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

As Jesus was nearing the end of the Sermon on The Mount, He began to draw distinctions between different kinds of things.

In this, He alluded to two different paths, two different kinds of builders and two different groups of people.

One path leads to destruction. The other leads to life.

One builder builds on the rock, the truth. While the other builder builds on sand, deception and lies.

One group of people spoke the name of Jesus, prophesied in His name and claimed to be His followers. But their words were tainted and deceitful, being spoken with impure motives of deception and greed.

The other group loved God and followed Him sincerely, giving Him their whole heart.

In verse 15, Jesus specifically discussed false prophets. He told the people that they would know these false prophets by their fruits.

Matthew 7:15 (NKJV) 15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.

Most times when we hear verse 20, we think of it as knowing believers by their fruits. In reality, though, Jesus was speaking directly about false prophets and false teachers.

So, let’s talk about that for a few minutes.

How do we know false teachers and false prophets? By what they say and what they teach.

Do they share the word of God in its entirety, in all of its truth and power, including those things that might not be so comfortable?

Or do they tend to avoid the topics that might be tough or uncomfortable, and move onto the things that are easier to hear and might not cause any kind of discomfort or controversy?

Do the words they speak focus mostly on how to get wealthy? Does their “gospel” revolve around money and success?

Do they speak only about “positive” things, but never address or discuss sin and its consequences?

Do they proclaim freedom from sin and bondage by the blood of Jesus? Or do they proclaim wealth, social acceptance and happiness for all believers in His name?

This is something that we all need to understand. We all need to know the difference between the truth and the lies.

We need to learn to recognize it. Why? Because our eternal destiny depends on it.

As Jesus continued to speak, He drew a very clear line of distinction between the path that leads to life and the path that leads to destruction.

And He did so with no apologies, as He said these words:

Matthew 7:21-23 (NKJV) 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

Beware of false prophets and false teachers.
