Bible Verse of The Day – 6-8-20

James 4:1-3 (NKJV) 1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.

As James addressed fellow believers, and the things he was seeing taking place among them, he felt it necessary to address the conflict that was happening among some of them.

James had observed that there was much strife between some people in the body of Christ, and he saw by the Holy Spirit exactly what it was that caused it; pride, and a lack of true submission to God.

Pride will cause us to do so many things that do nothing more than promote chaos in our lives. That chaos may not necessarily be evident outwardly in our lives, but it is definitely there inwardly!

In addition to chaos, pride will also cause us to covet and lust after what others have. And as believers, we will even pray and ask God for those very same things.

Because we ask for these things amiss, out of wrong motives, we will not receive them by God’s hand. He will deny our requests.

If we are carnal in our thoughts and our methods, we may just push through and take action to obtain what we are requesting by natural means, ignoring God’s leading and the fact that He is not answering our prayers. This is where we often get ourselves into trouble.

So, if we have been praying and asking God for something, whether a material item or otherwise, and we are not getting whatever it is that we’re asking for, we may very well need to examine our motives.

Are they pure? Do they serve God, or do they serve our own desires?

These are good questions that will teach us a lot about ourselves.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-7-20 – The New House

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the precious name of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

We hope you are well and enjoying your walk with God.

Today’s video, “The New House”, is very relevant for the times that we are living in.

The last few months have been like a raging storm blowing through our neighborhood, wreaking havoc on everything in its path.

When these kinds of storms blow in, they leave a path of destruction in their wake.

We discuss this today, in relationship to the church, and our walk with God.

There is much that we discussed that is very important, so we hope you will take a few minutes out of your day and watch it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

We hope this video will bring understanding and clarity in some areas where there may have been confusion or a lack of understanding.

We love you all.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-6-20

Hebrews 6:10 (NKJV) 10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Hi Everyone…

We just wanted to say thank you so much for helping us to continue to reach the world with the message of Christ.

For some reason this season has been extra hard. And, at the same time, God is bringing us deeper with Him to show us how faithful He is.

In order to reach the lost where they are in life, it feels like we are right there with them. We can’t help if we don’t feel the pain, sorrow, loss and ache of what they are going through. It’s your help, through prayers and finances, that is making this less of a struggle.

Every day we are reminded of your labor of love toward us and helping us to do what we do. We truly cannot do it without you all.

Please know that God sees all that you do toward His name and he will not forget it. Keep going and don’t stop. When you help Seven Seas Ministries, you help all those that are being changed around the globe.

Thank you, thank you and thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We love you and you are in our prayers daily.

Have a beautiful day!

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-5-20

1 Timothy 6:6-8 (NKJV) 6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

Being content is one of the best things I have learned over the last decade or so.

Contentedness is something that really changes a person. It causes us to stop constantly searching for more and more, and to look to God as the Source of everything that is good.

Contentedness is a very misunderstood idea. Many people mistake being content for living in poverty, always struggling to get by.

This isn’t necessarily true.

Being content means learning to be OK with what you have, whether it’s a little or a lot.

Some might think that being content with having a lot should be easy, and that nobody who has a lot is ever discontent.

This is far from the truth, though.

While it’s easy to see how a person with very little to their name might be discontent, the people with very little don’t understand how someone with much could ever be less than content.

The person with much material wealth can still struggle with discontentment, though.

Part of this can come because they are never satisfied. No matter how much they have, they still want more and more.

Some of this is selfish, while some of it is due to a lack of understanding when it comes to them knowing what true contentment really is.

It is only when we surrender ourselves to God that we begin to understand contentment in its truest form.

When our contentment is found in Him, our desire for large amounts of earthly possessions will begin to diminish.

It’s not that someone suddenly stops liking nice stuff. It’s more that they begin to see and understand that more stuff is not the key to happiness or satisfaction.

And as a person draws closer and closer to God, their desire to amass things is replaced with a desire to amass eternal treasures in heaven.

1 Timothy 6:6 (NKJV) 6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-4-20

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

We need to get ”God vision” because our sight is very limited!

Many years ago, we sat in our living room and cried out to God in prayer. We were at a turning point in our lives, and God had prepared us to do something. But we were not sure exactly what or how.

We had made the decision to leave our house. We had sold most of the stuff in it, and we had taken in just enough cash to get a rental place. It was probably one of the hardest places to be.

But the thing I take with me and remember the most is that as we sat there in the two small chairs that we had left in our living room, God met us there.

He spoke to us that day and told us we are to do full time ministry. Now, you need to know that the ministry He was speaking of was exactly what we do today.

At that time we had nothing to work with. We were empty. But today, we are full. Full with His purpose, His guidance and His provision!

Thank you all so very much for the part you play in this, because it’s huge.

The one thing that we would love for you to get from this is that we had no idea how to do what God was asking us. Our vision was very limited.

On that note, what did we do? The only thing we knew was to keep doing what was directly in front of us, but to stay open and alert to changes that came our way.

The best information we can give you today is, unless God directly says to stop what you are doing and go here or go there, don’t make any sudden moves. That is true even when He shows you what He is going to do through you. The vision will usually come first as, a seed. After that it is usually in quiet steps.

When Mary was impregnated by the Holy Spirit, the Son of God was growing right in her womb. Who did she tell? Everyone? No… she went to Joseph and told him. And the only other person that confirmed who she carried inside of her was Elizabeth. They kept it to themselves.

Luke 1:41-42 (NKJV) 41 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

You see, it is very important, 1. Not to move too quickly. Do only what God shows us to do. 2. Not to tell everyone we know. Protect God’s plan with everything in us. And, 3. Wait on the Lord to unfold it, step by step.

Today, let God open our vision and show us His plan. He is faithful to fulfill it! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-3-20

1 Corinthians 2:14 (NKJV) 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Spiritual activity in the atmosphere has increased markedly over the last several years. It is more alive than ever.

We no longer live in a world where common sense and carnal understanding can sustain us.

Yes, we can get by living that way. But it will be increasingly difficult to do so as the things of the spirit continue to increase in intensity.

It’s critical that we, as believers, learn to perceive and discern the things of the spirit accurately.

This isn’t something to be taken lightly. Nor is it something that is optional if we wish to be used by God, or to understand the things of God. Sharp discernment is a necessity.

So, how do we do this? How do we get understanding that gives us this discernment?

We learn to listen to the Spirit of God and let Him lead us in everything that we do.

Daily life can seem ho hum, benign and habitual to most of us, especially if we simply live in the natural.

But God wants us to live beyond the natural, above what we see and feel. He desires for us to let Him develop our spirit in a way that allows it to commune with His spirit.

That is the key to having a deeper understanding and a sharper ability to discern the things of the spirit.

And here’s how we develop that muscle in each and every one of us; we spend time in His word. We spend time conversing with Him. We learn of Him, and we draw near to Him.

Over time, as we do this, with the goal of growing our relationship with Him, our spiritual understanding and our discernment will also improve.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-2-20

John 15:12 (NKJV) 12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Where did we ever get the idea that we can just do the things we want, when we want and how we want? That idea comes from our flesh and its desires.

As I ponder on my life and the things that have brought me hardship, I realize it was mostly when I did just that; lived by my flesh. How about you?

The way we do things should change when we become a believer. When we begin to put Christ before our own wants and needs, our motives will change. And as we continue to grow, we are more determined to do the things God wants us to do.

You say, “I don’t know what God wants for me yet. I haven’t figured it out. I’m waiting for a sign or answer of some type from Him”.

Well, today, my friend, is your day for your answer to come alive and for a seed to be planted in you.

Are you ready to know what God wants for us all? We are going to take a look at what He says in His word.

Galatians 5:13 (NKJV) 13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

What is our call? To walk in such liberty. The word liberty means to be in a state of being free; Free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views. Freedom is the power or scope to act as one pleases.

In the scriptures, God’s freedom and liberty for our lives is to owe no man anything, but to love.

Romans 13:8 (NKJV) 8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Do not be in debt to anything or anyone. Not only did Jesus set us free from our sin and give us eternal life, His salvation, but He has given us liberty here on earth to walk and to choose to serve one another. What brings such freedom? Choosing servant-hood with love.

We have been called to walk in total freedom, to never return to bondage again. Liberty in Christ is being set free from our flesh and serving Him, through following His example in demonstrating such a love for one another.

Galatians 5:1 (NKJV) 1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Stand fast and stay free, by serving God first and foremost with everything we have, and walk in the liberty of Christ, by which we have been called to love one another. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 6-1-20

Philippians 1:6 (NKJV) 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

As believers, we are a work in progress.

Each one of us is in a different place in our walk with God. Where we are depends on many different things; our spiritual age, our spiritual maturity, our commitment to our walk with God, our willingness to change and grow, etc.

Sometimes there are outside factors that can impact us, but more often than not, where we are depends largely on what we do or don’t do.

Thankfully, though, even if we’re not the most faithful or diligent in our relationship with God, He never wavers and is never at fault for our shortcomings.

Even better, take a look once more at what the scripture above says; “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ”.

That means that He sticks with us for the duration, never leaving us, even until the day of Jesus Christ, when He returns for His people.

His grace is like the special glue that fills in the gaps that we create, giving us every opportunity to keep pursuing Him and building our relationship with Him.
