Bible Verse of The Day – 5-20-20

Galatians 1:10 (NKJV) 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

Paul was a passionate man. No matter what he did, he did it with all that was in him.

As a Jew, he excelled among his peers, rising above many of them in his studies of the Jewish traditions and laws.

As a persecutor of Christians, he was extremely zealous, putting much effort into making sure Christians everywhere were terrified of Him.

And then, as an apostle of Christ, he spoke the truth boldly, not caring who it might offend or how much trouble it might get him into.

His life was a testimony of this as he spent many years behind bars and in chains for his faith in Jesus.

Ultimately, his faith in Christ cost him his life, when he died as a martyr for Jesus.

Paul never made any effort to please men. And his life is a shining example for us to follow.

Peer pressure, no matter what age we are, can sometimes push us to do certain things that we might not otherwise consider doing.

On the other hand, it can sometimes cause us to shrink back, not doing what we know we should do, had the peer pressure not been there.

As we walk along the path that God has placed before us, we need to make sure that we never make decisions or choices based on pressure applied by people around us.

It doesn’t matter if it’s pressure to do or not to do something. If the Holy Spirit isn’t confirming what we’re contemplating, then we need to pull back and wait on God to show us His choice for us.

Doing this will not only make sure that we make the right choices, but it will also prevent us from having to fix a mess caused by making the wrong choice.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-19-20

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NKJV) 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

As I sit and ponder today on these past few months, I see change that has come not only in my own life, but in those around me. In the lives of all people around the world.

I am in awe at how God has given me such a peace that, through the hard times, through the decision making, through the learning experience, He stuck it out with me.

I have such wonderful memories to hold onto and reminisce about. Things I would never have experienced if I hadn’t gone through the fires at different times in my life.

Boy, I definitely know it’s not easy facing some things. I’d say sometimes it is even gut-wrenching hard.

But, instead of dwelling on the trial, I choose to keep the good at the forefront of my heart; the happy things that have brought me joy. And, I rejoice and thank God for all the new memories that I have!

We can always look around and see bad situations, and spend time talking about them. These things are there in all of our lives at one time or another. Or, we can choose to focus and move on with the good things.

Finding the good things in the land in which we live is a challenge sometimes. But it’s there and well worth the effort when we find it.

Psalm 27:13 (NKJV) 13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.

Enjoy the goodness of the Lord and don’t stop praying. He is faithful to turn things around.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-18-20

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Our sight is important to us. It allows us to see what’s around us; what’s happening, what’s ahead of us, and what stands in our way.

Our sight, though, is limited. Our eyes work only on natural principles. They see what is tangible. They cannot see what is spiritual.

There can be seasons in our lives when we struggle to see beyond the darkness that surrounds us. Certain situations and events can make us feel lost, hopeless and like we are wandering without vision. It can happen to all of us.

This is when we have to reach out and walk by faith, not by what we see in the natural.

This requires that we push back the emotions that cause us to become fearful, and teach ourselves to trust in God, even when we feel like we are blind and don’t even know where to put our feet, as we struggle to walk forward.

Our spirit needs to be able to take charge, overriding our tendency to rely on common sense and logic and, instead, lean in and listen for what His spirit is telling our spirit to do.

Maybe we find that difficult. Maybe at this point in our lives we are struggling just to push back unbelief. Or maybe we just need something we can cling to, to get us to take our next step.

This is when we need to look around us. We might not see the immediate answer to our problems, but we can see the sun, stars and the beauty of creation, to remind us of Who it is that our faith and trust is in.

And when we do this, and we get that glimpse of God’s incredible power and might, it helps us to shake off the doubt and unbelief and move forward, even if it might only be one inch at a time.

Forward motion is forward motion, regardless of the speed or the increments by which we move.

Don’t look back. Look ahead. And look up to the One who has the power to pick us up even when we are at our weakest, and get us moving again.

He is faithful.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-17-20 – The Spiral – Part 2

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

The body of Christ is the most effective mechanism in place by God to push back darkness.

Are we doing it? Are we fulfilling the call on our lives?

In this week’s video, The Spiral – Part 2, we wrap up our discussion on this topic, diving a bit deeper into it and talking about the ways we can make sure we’re walking the path that God has created for each of us as individuals.

This is an important message for the season that we are in on a global level, so we hope you will take the time to watch it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-16-20

Acts 17:28 (NKJV) 28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’

Wow! We sure are in a different season for the Church as a whole these days.

Some may say it is only temporary because of the Covid-19 virus. But, who knows how this will all play out, and how long it will continue?

All we know is that this is what we are left with for now. So, how do we handle it?

Some people are lost without fellowship. Some people are fine and are enjoying time off, getting other things done and accomplished. Some have been studying and doing whatever it takes to keep up on their walk and their time with God.

We pray that you all are safe and healthy, and that you are growing stronger in your walk. And that not only are we learning how to do things differently, but that we are OK and we will not lose hope because of the changes. The good news is that no matter what, God is for us if we keep our trust in Him.

Romans 8:31 (NKJV) 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Don’t get lost in the change. Walk it out. Come out of it even stronger than when we went into it.

God has a way of showing up and directing our steps, showing us how to keep moving even through seasons we’re not crazy about.

It’s in Him we live!

Each day we read. Each day we pray. Each day we worship and thank Him. We keep moving in Him! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-15-20

1 Corinthians 1:26 (NKJV) 26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.

As Paul was addressing the Corinthians, he drew attention to the fact that when God calls a man or a woman, He does so, not based on their earthly wisdom, their physical strength or their nobility, but for reasons He chooses.

God operates in ways that confound the minds of man. His ways of doing things will, many times, make no sense to human logic. His ways fly in the face of conventional wisdom, making fools of so-called wise people.

God sometimes chooses to use people who lack formal education in areas where He chooses to use them mightily. God doesn’t require degrees from fancy universities. He doesn’t need man’s stamp of approval upon His laborers.

And He doesn’t need to ask for man’s permission to accomplish things in the way He chooses to accomplish them.

As He moves in His own unique ways, He may choose you or me to do something that we have no clue how to do. The cool part about God, though, is that He will not only give us the understanding that we need, but He will also provide us with the tools that we need in order to complete the job.

And what’s more than that? He will often lead us into these things without us even knowing that He’s doing it, until we begin to look back and see where He has brought us!

This is the God we serve. He is more than sufficient for us in every possible way, for every step we take in this walk called life.

Isaiah 55:9 (NKJV) 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-14-20

Philippians 2:3 (NKJV) 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

There is so much we can get caught up in in our own lives that we can totally miss out on helping someone that is in dire need.

I know that it’s easy. We each have our own dealings, situations, etc. But, there is one thing that I am reminded of and I would like to remind each person of today.

When I was in a season of my life where so much was hitting me, from the left and from the right, the one thing I remember is this; When I helped someone else instead of sitting and pondering on my own mess, it gave me strength.

I guess it took my mind off myself, my own problems. And by doing so, it made me realize that I’m not alone.

When we realize that we are not alone, that others are going through things, and some are even worse than what we are facing, it helps us in some way. No one wants to go through things alone. No one.

Sitting there worrying was not going to take it away. Changes I thought I could make would not touch it or fix it fast enough. But what helped me the most was getting up and out and helping others. This gets my mind in a different place and demonstrates my trust in God!

Once I settled down, trusted God, and began to help others, He began to move. Things began to change, and I could breathe again.

You might say, “you weren’t breathing?”. I was so stressed out from my thoughts, that my breathing was stressed. It was tight from anxiety, worry and lack of sleep.

We cannot go through this life not breathing fully. If we have to let go in order to breathe again, then LET go.

Get out there and help someone and trust God with our concerns. He will turn it around. Sow seeds of HELP when we are in dire need ourselves. God will see our labor of love and He will move!

Hebrews 6:10 (NKJV) 10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Put others before ourselves. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-13-20

1 Corinthians 2:10 (NKJV) 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

The Spirit of God is an amazing teacher. He is tender, detailed, thorough and yet, He is a gentleman in all that He does, never forcing Himself on anyone.

It is incredible what we can learn from God’s spirit if we allow Him to teach us.

With children in the natural, they can learn whatever they will allow their parents to teach them.

If they rebel, they will learn very little and will spend their lives trying to compensate for mistakes they make.

If they comply, they will learn much, and their lives will be blessed because of it. They will make fewer mistakes and will spend time growing, instead of always trying to backtrack and make corrections.

Obviously, as humans, we will never be perfect. But the choices we make will determine the path our lives take.

With us, spiritual children, we can learn as much as we will allow the Spirit of God to teach us!

We start off with the small things, just as with a natural child. But as we grow and mature, the Spirit of God will take us deeper and deeper, showing us the “deep things of God” if we will allow Him to do so.

Deep things aren’t always complicated. Sometimes they are very simple, but unnoticed by our carnal minds. They are, however, very enlightening when we finally start to put the pieces together.

Once we begin to get an understanding of the “deep things”, our lives will never be the same. Our faith is stronger. We have the peace of God in our lives. We discern things more sharply. And the doubts that we used to wrestle with will fade away, never to be heard from again.

We encourage you to press in to God. Spend time in His word. Don’t look for the deep things, though. Just look for Him.

When you find Him, and you seek understanding, the deep things will find you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-12-20

Ephesians 4:28 (NKJV) 28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.

One of the things that this ministry is based on is prayerfully giving to those in need. We say prayerfully because we have learned over the years that “God giving” is better than “people giving just because”.

For example, if God lays something on our heart to do for someone, even if we don’t understand why and we just do it, it is so much more powerful than us trying to figure out what to give to someone on our own. When we do this, we are truly His hands and feet.

There are some that have never experienced such God-given gifts. Boy, is it fulfilling, but not just for the receiver. I think the giver is even more ecstatic if they have the opportunity to see and feel the emotions from the receiver.

Sometimes, though, gifts are given in secret, so we never get to see or experience this. But this doesn’t remove or negate the excitement of giving!

We need to be prayerful about our giving. And to be clear, we are not talking about tithes. Our tithe is not meant to be negotiable and/or questionable. It is what it is and we need to automatically give to God the 10 percent He has asked us for.

We are talking about giving above and beyond our tithe.

God will sometimes lay on our hearts to give something to someone and it is a great time to sow a very important seed.

Be prayerful about our giving. Make every little bit of it count. God is faithful to do His part.

Luke 6:38 (NKJV) 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-11-20

Matthew 11:29 (NKJV) 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Are you tired and weary? It’s safe to say that most of us go through periods where we feel like we can’t take one more thing.

Sometimes life can really throw some stuff at us that make us feel like we just need some peace, some rest.

Most of us will automatically think of getting rest as maybe we need some sleep.

But if we get sleep, and the storm is still raging all around us when we wake up, we will still have no rest for our souls.

Do you know when we will find rest for our souls? When we take the yoke of Jesus upon us and find our rest in Him.

You see, Jesus told us plainly that we need to do that. And then He said we need to learn from Him!

As we learn from Him, He will teach us what true rest is and what it feels like. And once we get that understanding in our spirits, we will never again settle for anything less. There will be no need to do so!

So, we urge you today to take the yoke of Jesus upon you. Learn from Him. Press into Him. Draw near to Him, and seek Him with all your heart.

Then, and only then will you find rest for your souls.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NKJV) 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Bible Verse of The Day – 5-10-20 – The Spiral – Part 1

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus!

We hope you are well and being blessed.

Most of us know that when we walk closely with God, He lifts us up in many ways. The closer we get to Him, the more we rise above the world and its problems.

On the contrary, if we drift from God, we will begin to spiral downward.

Today’s video, The Spiral, discusses this, and how the body of Christ can stop spiraling downward and get back to where God wants us to be.

This is part 1 of a 3-part series.

We hope you will take the time to watch it.

Enjoy your day.
