Bible Verse of The Day – 4-18-20

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

God’s word is what helps us to walk in faith. If we don’t have His word in us, the faith we have will be weak. We need to be constantly building it up by keeping His word fresh and new in us.

We’ve got to be hearing Him and what He is saying through His words. And in order to do this, we’ve got to make an effort to spend time reading it and soaking it up.

You know, like one of those books we enjoy and can wait to get home and read. All day we think about getting home so we can get back into it. That’s how the Bible needs to become for us.

It has to be THE book that has priority. The book that calls our name. The book that speaks to us even when we’d rather be doing something else.

Read its words. Stay connected, and we won’t get off track.

We will see change come to us and our situation as we begin to grow in our faith.

WE have to do it, though. No one else can grow our faith for us. Read, and read some more. Hear what it is that God is saying in His word. Take it to heart and enjoy it!!

This book was written for us. It’s our faith builder! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-17-20

Revelation 3:16 (NKJV) 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

Over the years, as I have read from Genesis through Revelation, I have noticed two very prominent themes that God consistently shows us.

The most obvious is His love for humanity. The fact that He loves us despite our flaws and shortcomings is amazing beyond words.

The other is that He desires us to love Him back, more than anything else in life. He wants us to put Him first, above everything. And that’s what we will talk about today.

Way back when Moses spent time on the mountain with God, and he came down with the Ten Commandments in his hands, we were told that we should put nothing before Him.

Exodus 20:3 (NKJV) 3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.

Later, in Deuteronomy chapter 6, we are told that we are to love God with everything in us.

Deuteronomy 6:5 (NKJV) 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

Later, when confronted by the Pharisees, who asked Him what the greatest commandment was, Jesus reiterated the fact that we should love God with everything in us.

Matthew 22:37 (NKJV) 37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’

Jesus also told us that we should seek the kingdom of God first, before anything else.

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Later, in the book of Romans, we are told that we should present our bodies as a living sacrifice, again reinforcing the fact that God wants us to put Him first in everything.

Romans 12:1 (NKJV) 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

So, just a gentle reminder today that if we are not putting God first, above everything and everyone else, this would be a good time to adjust our priorities to make sure we’re doing what we need to do to accomplish that.

After all, consider what our lives might be like if we were without Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-16-20

Romans 12:2 (NKJV) 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

When we become a believer, by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior, our old being must be transformed. The old man will not do any longer.

We have to begin to pick up godly traits, from that moment on. We are truly a new creation. However, we have to learn, grow and allow this transformation to take place in our heart and in our mind!

Oh boy, will our mind fight back at times. Just remember, if it is fighting us when it comes to doing what is right, we need to be that much stronger to say no.

It will show us the rebellion it has at times, even toward what God wants.

God can not and will not do it for us. He wants us to care for it as needed, and put it in line with His will.

Romans 8:6 (NKJV) 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

As a Christian, if we do not allow this transformation to take place, we will live in a carnal state of mind and it will bring destruction to God’s will for us.

Carnal  thinking should never dominate over the leading of the Holy Spirit.

If we let Him transform our minds, we will walk according to His will, and it will bring life and peace to our spirit man.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-15-20

John 1:12-13 (NKJV) 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Have you ever heard the expression, “we are all God’s children”?

Did you know that is a lie?

Somewhere along the way, the enemy planted seeds that grew into this terrible lie in order to deceive millions upon millions into thinking that being born into this world makes them one of God’s children.

Let’s take a look at the two verses above and see why this is so.

Verse 12 states very clearly, “to them He gave the right to become children of God”.

Who is “them”?

They are “as many as received Him” and “those who believe in His name”.

This is referring to anyone who has put their faith and trust in Him, offering loyalty, faithfulness and devotion to Him in their heart.

And to further dispel the lie, take a look at verse 13.

This applies to those “who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God”.

As you can see, simply being born (of the flesh, of blood, or by the will of man) does not make us God’s children.

So, what does make us a child of God?

Being born “of God”.

Jesus referred to this as being “born again”.

John 3:3 (NKJV) 3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

The phrase “born again” literally means “born from above”, which equates to being born “of God”.

And there you have it, very plain and simple.

The word of God never ceases to amaze me with its intricacies and its attention to every little detail, all while spanning thousands of years.

Let us all pray that more people will get this understanding and become true children of God. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-14-20

1 John 3:16 (NKJV) 16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

If we are a child of God, we know what love is, and we know how to use it.

God is love. He forgave our sins and received us as His child when we put our faith and trust in Him.

We cannot deny that the moment this happened we felt loved in a way we’d never felt before.

Oh, the warmth of God’s love wrapping around us the moment we said, “yes, I believe.” It’s like no other.

How many can testify of the love we felt in that moment of being born again?

I was only a young girl. But I’ll remember what I felt that day forever.

We know love, people. It’s in us. We were born again because of such love!

How do we lay down our lives for our brother?

We love them with that same love. We love them when they’re angry. We love them when they’re hurting. We love them when they talk foolish.

It’s easy to love our brother when they are good to us and easy to love. But, try loving them when they are annoying, frustrating and sassy.

It won’t be easy until we let God’s love shine. And in order to do that, we have to humbly accept the fact that He loved us that way, even in our worst moments.

He did not turn us away or talk down about us. He loved us the same then as He does now that we are cleaned up and living a different life.

Don’t ever forget where we came from. I speak for myself, but I’m sure we all have a story.

Lay down our lives for our brethren. We need each other.

I’m talking to someone today; you’ve been fighting with your brethren for some time now, and it’s not getting you anywhere.

You are always angry and uncomfortable around them. It’s time to stop and turn this thing around. In Jesus’ name, forgive them and love them with the love God put in us.

It’s time to walk this out and lighten your load. Today you will be free as you love on your brethren in spite of how they are as a person. Amen.

Our prayers are with you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-13-20

Mark 5:28 (NKJV) 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

This woman had no idea that she would go down in history for her courage and her faith.

As believers, we can all learn a lot from her; her determination, her perseverance, her courage, her tenacity, and most of all, from her faith in Jesus to make her whole.

It’s important that we understand what she had been through; 12 years of struggles with a condition that no doctor of that time could help her with.

They had all failed miserably, even making her life worse than it was by the condition itself.

Mark 5:26 (NKJV) 26 and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.

Regardless of what she had been through, she trusted that Jesus had what she needed. And despite the fact that there were hordes of people around Him, she defied the odds and pushed through the crowd, even just to be able to touch His clothing.

You see, she wasn’t concerned with talking to Him or even touching Him. She just wanted to touch his clothing, because she knew that was all it would take to get her healing.

Mark 5:28 (NKJV) 28 For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

Are we shying away from Jesus today because it might take extra effort to push through and get what we need from Him?

Are we afraid of what people might say or think about us? Do others keep us from Him? Are we afraid He might reject us?

Don’t be! Jesus gave His life to set us free. It’s up to us to reach out and touch Him, even if it’s just his clothing as He passes by.

If the woman in the verses above could do it, so can you and I.

We trust you are walking hand in hand with God.

Today’s video, The Prodigal Bride – Part 3, we wrap up our discussion on the state of the modern-day church.

We change course a bit this week as we present how the bride can mend her broken ways and begin to put God first again.

This has been a hard-hitting series, and we hope it has helped to bring some things to light that were previously not clear.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-11-20

1 Peter 5:7 (NKJV) 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Praying can be hard to do if we are overwhelmed, distracted and busy in our minds.

A lot of times, we pray because we don’t have any idea as to how to fix something. Even then we might think, “forget it, God doesn’t want to hear from me”.

Are we kidding ourselves? God never said that.

That’s either our own guilty conscience speaking to us, saying “it’s too late, we’ve gone too far”, or it’s the devil trying to whisper lies, hoping we will believe him and not get the help we need.

God doesn’t run from us when things get ugly and tough. He doesn’t run and hide when we are at our worst. Do we really think He will walk away from us if we are crying out for His help? No.

He is God. He cares so much more than we realize.

His arms are open at all times. He will not push us away. He will not lock us out. He will not tell us to be quiet.

Open up and let Him in. He will fix us and whatever we have going on.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-10-20

Philippians 1:29 (NKJV) 29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

Wow! Did you see what that says?

It has been granted on behalf of Christ that we would suffer for His sake.

This is a pretty heavy message for us to take in.

So much of what we hear revolves around good stuff; God’s grace and mercy, Joy in the Lord, Enjoying His benefits, etc.

We don’t often hear about suffering for Christ.

But suffering for Christ is a reality. That’s 100% truth.

The thing is that we often view this incorrectly, as though suffering is a curse, or some kind of punishment. It’s not either of those, though. So let’s take a look.

First, notice that it says that it has been “granted” for us to suffer. Understanding why that word was used will completely change our perspective when it comes to suffering for Christ.

If something is granted to someone, it typically means that it is given to them, sometimes even as a gift of some sort.

Even further, if we look at the original Greek text, the word used here was originally the Greek noun for grace.

So, suffering for Christ is a gift of grace, which ultimately brings us power. That power comes by way of learning to endure suffering, and understanding that it will ultimately lead to eternal rewards.

And finally, we need to be sure to understand that all human suffering is not the same as suffering for Christ.

For example, being a Christian and suffering with a disease, or suffering from a chronic back injury, or something similar, isn’t suffering for Christ just because we are a believer. This is something that has been terribly misunderstood by many people for centuries, so we wanted to try to clear that up and dispel this incorrect belief.

And with that, we leave you with this verse.

1 Peter 4:13 (NKJV) 13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-9-20

Proverbs 21:3 (NKJV) 3 To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.

Some have left their friends, given up things that they loved to do, just to keep their walk with God moving forward and growing stronger.

Whatever we give up for Him, we will feel it. But it is always well worth it!

Over time, we will find ourselves walking away from things, and maybe even people, that may have meant a lot to us. But as we grew closer to God, we learned that those things may get in the way of our relationship with Him, and we may need to let them go.

Anything or anyone that influences us in a bad or negative way, we will have to choose between it and God. Whether it’s friends, food we eat or drink, places we spend time at, etc, we may need to make a choice at some point.

Sometimes, to stay on the right path and close to God, we have to choose the more excellent way, for our health, and for our relationship with Him.

Our closeness with Him will cost us, to keep choosing the more righteous thing.

Proverbs 21:21 (NKJV) 21 He who follows righteousness and mercy Finds life, righteousness, and honor.
