Bible Verse of The Day – 2-28-19

Ecclesiastes 3:6 (NKJV) 6 A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away…

Time is precious. If we feel we are running out of time and are always weighed down with pressure, deadlines, and appointments, it may be that time to eliminate some things. Time to de-clutter our schedule, our plans and to eliminate our time with certain people, etc.

Most of the time we put ourselves in these predicaments. We think we are some sort of super hero. That bubble has to pop if we want to really be available for what God has for us.

We can not do it all on our own. We need Him to guide our steps and protect our time from bloodsuckers; the things or the people that like to suck the life out of us and then leave us drained.

Do we have a few of those on us that we need to remove?

If we don’t throw off some things, we will become stagnant, tired and gasping for air.

That is not how God wants His children functioning.

Our strength comes from the joy of the Lord. But where is our strength today? It’s not there.

Why? Because we run around taking care of the bloodsuckers, and the time we have left is spent on the things we were supposed to get done before they interrupted us.

It’s time to stop the rat race and sit at the feet of Jesus and talk with Him.

God knows how tired we are, how worn and how used we are feeling. But we must make the effort to stop it and get with Him. There comes a time to say, “NO more.” Get rid of that which is holding us back, slowing us down, and sucking every ounce of our energy up.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-27-19

2 Timothy 2:13 (NKJV) 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

We may become weak at times. We might be unfaithful to Him in one way or another. We may pull away and hide ourselves from Him because of shame or fear. We may even doubt Him.

But no matter what we do, no matter how we might fail Him, He can never fail us.

He remains faithful.

He cannot deny Himself. He is the epitome of truth. There is no darkness found in Him.

1 John 1:5 (NKJV) 5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

When our faith and trust are in Him, we can find no stronger anchor, no ground that is more stable and no foundation that is more solid.

He is the very core, the foundation of faith. Without Him, there is no faith to be had. And as such, His promises will always be true.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-26-19

2 Timothy 2:12 (NKJV) 12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.

If we endure, we will also reign with Him.

Endure, withstand, bear, tolerate, brave, suffer, persist.

These are all words indicating a struggle or suffering of some kind.

As we follow Christ on this earth, we will face trials at times because of our faith. This doesn’t always mean faith-induced face-to-face persecution. But because we are a believer, we may have to make choices that we would otherwise not make if we were not believers.

Living by the Spirit of God requires us to make moral choices that tend to largely go against the grain of today’s thinking. These choices can cause us to take paths that may be more difficult than other paths just by the nature of the choice itself.

We may even face occasional loss because of those choices. We may lose friends. We may lose income. We may lose any number of other things. But we will not lose our walk with God, our Sustainer.

Interestingly, verse 12 tells us that if we do choose to endure, we will reign with Him. But if we give up, and we choose to deny Him, He will also deny us.

These are some pretty tough words. They are words that should cause us to wake up when we read them or hear them. These words should shake us from our slumber.

But we need to remember that He never, ever expects us to endure alone, or by our own strength. He has given us His spirit to help us and comfort us.

John 14:16 (TLB) 15-16 “If you love me, obey me; and I will ask the Father and he will give you another Comforter, and he will never leave you.

So, take heart. Press in to Him.

Draw near to Him and He will draw near to you (James 4:8).

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-25-19

2 Timothy 2:11-13 (NKJV) 11 This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. 12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.

These three verses, if we consider them seriously, will cause us to look at our relationship with God in a new way.

Why?

Because they lay the groundwork for almost every aspect of that relationship with a no-holds-barred honesty and candor that we often don’t like to hear. They make us think and consider our walk with God in a way that gives us no opportunity to make excuses or to justify our shortcomings.

This is not to say that God lacks compassion or mercy, because that would be 100% false. But it’s a reminder that we are responsible for our destiny inasmuch as we need to walk out our faith each and every day.

Let’s take a look at verse 11 today, and then we will cover verses 12-13 the next two days.

If we died with Him, we shall also live with Him.

If we live out our earthly lives pursuing Him and all that He wants for us, even death cannot separate us from Him. We live with Him, we die with Him. And though we may die, if we live with Him in this life, we will also live with Him in eternity.

But more than that, if we live with Him here, we truly live. Our lives are full and meaningful. Not in a mushy, emotional sort of way, but in a way that we can only see and understand by His spirit.

A life lived with (and for) Him is a life with joy, contentment, victory and much more.

It doesn’t depend on wealth, social status, career success, physical appearance, IQ level or any of the other earthly factors that so many of us look at.

It only depends on us taking the time to spend with Him, that we might know Him in all His fullness.

Philippians 3:10-11 (NKJV) 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-24-19 – Waiting on Isaac

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in the name of Jesus.

How many of us are waiting for a promise of God to come to pass? It’s safe to say that most of us are, in one way or another.

This week’s video, Waiting on Isaac, discusses waiting for God’s promises in our lives.

We talk about why it’s important to wait for it to come to us, instead of us getting impatient and trying to go after it.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes of your time and give this a watch.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Enjoy your day and keep pressing in to God.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-23-19

Psalm 139:10 (NKJV) 10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.

Sometimes all we want is someone to hold us and comfort us.

We don’t want to hear anything they have to say. We just want someone to hear us. We don’t want to be scolded or told what to do. We just want to be told, “it’s OK”.

We don’t want to hear what they are going through. We just want silence and loving arms to wrap tightly around us.

We don’t want any answers right now. We just want to let it out and get it off our chest.

God is waiting. His arms are open and He will hold us tightly. He will lead us perfectly through.

Isaiah 46:4 (NKJV) 4 Even to your old age, I am He, And even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry, and will deliver you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-22-19

1 Timothy 1:15 (NKJV) 15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

These words were penned by the apostle Paul.

It’s well known that Paul was a very zealous Jew who was opposed to Christianity and was also responsible for the deaths of many Christians, before He met Jesus and found the truth.

Despite his tyrannic ways prior to his conversion, Paul was chosen by God to become a major figure in spreading the good news of Jesus!

Paul spent the rest of his life traveling across much of the known world at that time, teaching, exhorting and writing. His writings comprise much of the New Testament that we use today.

Paul’s life as a Christian caused him much joy and much heartache. He personally got to see the body of Christ grow and flourish as the gospel of Christ was spread. But he was also stoned and left for dead, spent much time imprisoned for his teachings, was shipwrecked several times and was ultimately martyred for being a Christian.

Paul’s statement above that he was the chief of sinners has implications for all of us, too.

Although it is unlikely that anyone reading this has traveled about, killing followers of Christ, it is very likely that each and every one of us has done things at various times in our lives that we are ashamed of and that we regret doing.

So, if God could forgive and use a man like Paul, who called himself a persecutor, a blasphemer and an insolent man, what’s to stop any of us from thinking that God can forgive and use any of us?

God’s mercies are beyond our comprehension. His ways are higher than our ways. And He wants each and every one of us to follow the path He has set before us.

Our past cannot derail our future if we will just give it to God, let Him show us His plans, and then walk them out one step at a time.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-21-19

2 Corinthians 13:14 (NKJV) 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

We are truly blessed each day to be God’s children. He has set us up to walk in His blessings, His favor and His protection. He does not expect us to be alone while we journey in this world. It’s too much for us.

Communing with the Holy Spirit is an awesome and victorious way to walk out our day. He is there to help us. Some of the things that we go through in one day can be more than we can handle.

Having grace, love and the help of God’s Spirit is what it takes to get through it. What are we facing today that is taking all of our thoughts, our time and our labor?

If we want to get through it and move on, we need to make room for all three, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

It may be time to put aside our plan. It’s not working.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-20-19

1 Timothy 6:6 (NKJV) 6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

Godliness is something that we all pursue.

We want to please God by displaying His attributes in our lives; love, mercy, kindness, patience, compassion, righteousness and much more.

There is something else, though, that goes with this. Something that will help us immensely. It is contentment.

Contentment: a state of happiness and satisfaction. Fulfillment. Having a sense of thankfulness or gratitude for what we have.

The verse above says that godliness with contentment is great gain. But what does that really mean? Have we ever stopped to ponder on this so that we get the full understanding of it?

What does it mean by “great gain”? Gain in this context refers to wealth. But it’s not necessarily material wealth. It’s referring to a sense of fulfillment or satisfaction in our state, condition or circumstances.

Godliness and contentment by themselves are both very good. But when we add them together, what does the Word say we have? Great gain!

In other words, our efforts to live godly lives, combined with being content with where God has us at any given moment is wealth!

This comes from knowing that God is sufficient and that He is all we need. Our trust and confidence are in Him, not in material goods, financial or social status or a man-made title.

If we can truly grasp this and understand the value of it, we will no longer be constantly striving and reaching for the things that we think will satisfy us, but really only leave us feeling empty and longing for more.

It will transform our lives.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-19-19

Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV) 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

We are God’s Workmanship. Now that’s something to be thankful for. We were created in Jesus for good works.

We are able to do good works because we were created in Christ Jesus. When someone tries to tell us we are no good, we aren’t worth anything, or they say that we cannot do anything right, know that they are wrong.

We may not be great at everything, but we are God’s workmanship and we were created to do good works. We all have potential. Amen.

There is more to us than what people see or think they know. We can’t let anyone cause us to feel belittled. We are complete in Him, through His Son.

We are His workmanship and we can boast in Him, praising His name forever!

Psalm 44:8 (NKJV) 8 In God we boast all day long, and praise Your name forever.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-18-19

1 Timothy 6:9 (NKJV) 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

Many people desire to be rich… financially blessed. It’s no secret that having an abundance of money makes many aspects of our lives here on earth easier.

But being wealthy also has its down sides. You might ask “how so?”. Wouldn’t having lots of money make everything easier?”

On the surface, it would seem like being wealthy would make a person’s life easier and more pleasant in every aspect, right? Well, yes, it would seem that way. But it’s not always true. Let’s take a look.

First, let’s be sure that we understand that being rich is not a sin. The Bible never, ever states that. But it does teach us that being wealthy comes with a lot of responsibilities.

If we look closely at the verse above, we need to be sure to understand what it really means, not just what we see on the surface.

People whose trust is in God alone usually won’t have as strong a desire to be wealthy as those who are less ethical. Again, it is not a sin to be rich, or to want to be rich. But our desire to know and love God must be above all other desires, including the desire to be wealthy.

If we are corrupt in our ethics, being rich will only cause us to become further corrupt and unethical. And many who start off believing that they are ethically sound, and who seem quite humble, will eventually succumb to the temptations that come with wealth, and their humility will falter if they are not very, very careful.

In the long run, we need to make sure our desires are in their proper order, with God being at the very top, 24/7, 365 days per year. Then and only then can we ever hope to be able to handle financial blessings properly and in a way that doesn’t threaten our walk with God and our eternal destiny.
