Bible Verse of The Day – 1-31-19

Luke 6:38 (NKJV) 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

We recently shared in a video how God brought us through a season of famine that looked quite hopeless to us. We were struggling financially due to a factory closure. Our income had been severed and it left us in shock.

In the midst of that famine, though, God spoke to our hearts as we listened to a message about covenant. That day, we learned the importance of entering into a covenant with the Almighty, the Creator of everything we see.

And in the midst of our lack, we did just that; entered into a covenant with Him that would change our lives.

As we prayed over a massive pile of bills and repented before God for not putting Him first in our finances, He began to teach us and direct us. He also went to work on our behalf.

God began to show us favor in areas where we thought there was no hope or chance for favor. He began to show us that because we had chosen to give and to honor Him with what little we had, He would lead us out of the famine.

No, we did not come through it without wounds or scars. But we did come out of it with victory and changed hearts.

The key to all of this was one thing: giving.

As we gave, God gave back to us. He provided for us, He opened up opportunities for us, both financially and spiritually. And it was during this season of famine that he called us to lead, and to share His message with others.

We didn’t know at the time exactly how it would all play out. We just knew that things were changing, and that it was all by God’s hand.

Now, just over 20 years later, we live 100% by faith each and every day. God showed us that honoring Him with everything we have is the only way to live. And when we do this, He also honors us.

We no longer work corporate jobs. We work for God full time. And we rely on Him for everything we need.

He has brought some wonderful people into our lives who trust Him enough to sow into this work, making it possible for us to do what we do. And for that, we are eternally grateful.

We are in awe at how God provides for us, day by day. And for those who give, we offer a heartfelt “Thank You”. You are truly appreciated for your obedience to the Holy Spirit.

We love each and every one of you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-30-19

Proverbs 16:3 (NKJV) 3 Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established.

Being committed and staying focused isn’t always easy, especially if our plate is full and we have others that tend to pull on us.

What do we do to keep a peaceful mind and stay committed? There are 3 things.

The first thing to do is ask God to help us to stay focused so that we can get the things done that need to get done in that day.

Second, rebuke the enemy, in the name of Jesus, forbidding his schemes to set us back from operating against us.

The third thing we can do is to make sure that when things come up and people start to pull on us or ask us to do various things for them, that we are prayerfully discerning as to whether it is what God wants for us to get involved with at that time.

Staying committed and focused on the things that God wants us to get done in a day will bring us peace. But there will be some days it will be quite a fight trying to keep it all going smoothly.

Don’t give up, even if we get started on the wrong foot. Keep working at it.

If we stay focused, we will get the things done that need to be done. And there may even be some time for ourselves to do other things that we may enjoy, without feeling guilty about it.

We can honestly say that being committed and focused is very rewarding!

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-29-19

Matthew 4:1 (NKJV) 1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Jesus fasted for 40 days. And at the end of that time, the devil came to tempt Him.

Because Jesus hadn’t eaten for 40 days, the devil offered Jesus what he thought would be the most likely thing to get Him to fall; food.

Jesus rebuffed the devil, telling him that man doesn’t live by bread alone, but by the word of God.

Matthew 4:4 (NKJV) 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

The devil tempted Him again, taunting Him and encouraging Him to throw Himself off of the high place they were on, telling Jesus that God’s angels would surely protect Him if He decided to do so.

Again, Jesus countered the devil, telling him that we should not tempt God.

Matthew 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ”

The third attempt, the devil took Jesus to a very high place. He showed Jesus great kingdoms of the world and all of their glory, telling Him that if He would bow down to him, all of this could be His.

Once again, Jesus rebuked the devil, telling him to leave, and reminding him that we shall worship and serve God, and only God.

Matthew 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

So, if Jesus, the Son of God relied on God’s word to rebuke the devil, how much more should we also rely on God’s word to defend ourselves from the wiles of the enemy?

How much more should we hide God’s word in our hearts to make sure we can stand strong when the pressure of temptation tries its hardest to drive us backwards and bring us to our knees?

Psalm 119:11 (NKJV) 11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

His word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Let’s follow that light and stand strong in Him!

Psalm 119:105 (NKJV) 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-28-19

Proverbs 11:2 (NKJV) 2 When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.

We can all relate to being prideful at times and then having something take place that puts us right back where we belong. Sometimes it is a hard, painful fall.

Even though we may not like it or want it to happen, it sure does help us in the long run. If we allow the process to work itself out, we will come out humble, with a lot of wisdom.

Don’t be upset if things don’t work out for us when we are walking around all prideful and full of ourselves. Shame is bound to follow this kind of behavior and it is no one’s fault but our own.

Sometimes all it takes is to listen to those little promptings we get now and then. But, if we are on a roll doing what we want, we will often overlook them and continue to carry on down that road that will soon lead to shame.

If we could do one thing that will help us remain humble it would be to make sure we examine ourselves from time to time, keeping an eye on our attitude toward life and the people around us. It will usually show up pretty clearly in those areas first.

If we spot it, simply repent. Ask God to forgive us for our arrogant ways and to help us get back on track in doing what is good.

Philippians 1:6 (NKJV) 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ…

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-27-19 – Provision During Your Famine – Part 2

Click to watch the video nowHello! We greet you in the name of Jesus.

We have just published our new video, Provision During Your Famine – Part 2.

In last week’s video, we talked about Joseph, and how God gave him the wisdom to prepare for a famine that was coming. We also shared a little bit about how God led us through our own season of famine in the past.

This week, we go into more detail about the things that God did as He taught us and showed us how to trust Him, even when things looked hopeless.

His arm is never short. He is faithful in all things. And though we had fallen into financial despair, we had to take the steps He was telling us to take with our finances.

How did it all turn out? We hope you’ll watch the video to find out!

Please click here to watch the video now.

Trust Him in all things.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-26-19

2 Corinthians 9:7 (NKJV) 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Give as we purpose in our hearts. Another way of saying this is, as we set our minds to it.

Giving is huge! God watches our giving because it means something to Him. He even watches our attitudes as to how we give.

Giving should be something we take very seriously. Giving will cause us to be more at peace within ourselves. There is a rest that comes with giving.

When we lay our heads down at night, we know that all is complete as we gave accordingly. What a wonderful way to live, and so rewarding.

Slow down, look around and listen. God will guide us in the steps of giving, and what an honor it is to be able to give.

Be a cheerful giver! Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-25-19

Proverbs 4:25 (NKJV) 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.

When all is coming against us and we hear nothing from God, what do we do?

We keep on doing what we have been doing and what we know what we need to do. We don’t stop.

We do what is in front of us. We continue to press forward each day and we don’t look back. We don’t make frantic changes out of fear.

We don’t go back to the past, and we don’t remind ourselves of how we used to do things. Maybe that worked back then but it is not going to work for us now.

Our biggest problems come when we look back, when we try to do things the way we did them before. No one wins a race looking back. We must keep our eyes looking forward, and press on.

It’s a NEW day, here and now, not yesterday.

God will meet us when we keep moving forward. He will show us what we need to do next. We just need to be willing to listen and obey His leading.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-24-19

Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV) 5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

We can smile all we want and pretend like nothing is wrong around people that we know and love, but God knows what is deep within our hearts.

He knows the things that eat away at us night and day. He knows that we won’t talk about it to others because we are afraid that we will be rejected for our thoughts, concerns and our actions. All the meanwhile it keeps growing and getting bigger and stronger within us.

God sees it. It is like poison eating away at us, and the only way to get help is to go to Him and ask for it. He won’t leave us for saying what we have to say to Him.  It’s alright and it is up to us to share it with Him.

Will we live with it for another day, or will we get the help we need to take care of it?

There are things in this world that can defeat us, and they will if we try to survive them on our own. But the Lord has overcome them and He will help us to be overcomers as well! Amen.

John 16:33 (NKJV) 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-23-19

1 Peter 3:18 (NKJV) 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit,

Jesus did all that He did, once for all, for each one of us. Why? Because of the importance of our relationship with our Father.

Now that we have a way to our Father, it makes it convenient for us to go to Him, through Jesus Christ, His Son. And we can go to Him at any time.

In the morning when we get up, before our day even begins, He is there. In the afternoon during our lunch break, He is there. In the evening before we get into bed, He is there. Those sleepless and restless nights, He is there. If we are tormented during the night. He is there.

He is never too busy to listen and He is never too busy to answer. He is never overworked or under-worked. He is never too late or too early. He is never too tired. Our Father, Our God, Our Jehovah Jireh is Omnipotent, He is all-powerful. Omniscient, He is all knowing and Omnipresent, He is present everywhere.

Knowing that, what should we all be doing? Going to Him, and spending time.

God wants us to Himself. He loves to have each one of us coming to Him every day, loving on Him, worshiping Him, praising and thanking Him. He loves our songs from our heart. It means so much to Him.

Jesus, the Just, suffered for our sins so that we, the unjust, could go to God. Through Jesus we have the victory.

1 Corinthians 15:57 (NKJV) 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-22-19

Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

The Spirit of God is beautiful, and when we let Him have control over our being, this is what we will produce.

Love: an intense feeling of deep affection.

Joy: a feeling of great pleasure and happiness.

Peace: freedom from disturbance; tranquility.

Longsuffering: having or showing patience in spite of troubles, especially those caused by other people.

Kindness: the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.

Goodness: the quality of being morally good or virtuous.

Faithfulness: the quality of being faithful; fidelity. Loyal.

Gentleness: the quality of being kind, tender, or mild-mannered.

Self-Control: the ability to control oneself, in particular one’s emotions and desires or the expression of them in one’s behavior, especially in difficult situations.

These are the characteristics of the Spirit of God living in us through His Son, Jesus Christ. This is our inheritance. These wonderful traits are the riches of God that we too can walk in each day.

Galatians 5:25 (NKJV) 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

We are not on our own, His Spirit lives in us. He will help us to produce such fruit! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 1-21-19

Luke 19:2-4 (NKJV) 2 Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.

Zacchaeus had heard that Jesus was passing through. Something told Him that this was a big deal, so he wanted to make sure he got to see who this Jesus was that everyone was talking about.

There was a problem, though. Zacchaeus was short. He was so short, in fact, that he couldn’t see over the crowd. But Zacchaeus was also determined! So, he ran ahead of the crowd and climbed up into a Sycamore tree! Now he would be sure to see Jesus.

As Jesus passed under the tree, He peered up into the tree and called Zacchaeus down, informing him that He wanted to stay at his house that night.

Zacchaeus and Jesus had some great conversation, resulting in Jesus proclaiming to Zacchaeus that salvation had come to his house that very day.

Because Zacchaeus was determined, and he took action, the King of kings and Lord of lords called him down out of the tree, went to his house and dined with him, spending time with him in private.

This gives us some motivation to take a look at our own efforts to spend time with Jesus. Are we putting forth the same effort that Zacchaeus did? Are we willing to run ahead of the crowd and climb a tree just to get a glimpse of Him?

Are we willing to push aside those things that try to stop us from getting to Him?

Are we willing to share our heart with Him, telling Him of our love for Him?

Let’s follow the example of Zacchaeus and watch our relationship with Jesus grow and flourish!
