Bible Verse of The Day – 12-9-18 – It’s OK To Be Yourself

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings in Jesus’ name!

We all have various relationships in our lives; marriage, friendship, co-workers, classmates and much more. And each of the people that we interact with regularly can have an impact on how we act.

God has made each of us with certain strengths, talents, qualities and personality traits. It’s all part of who we are. But some people constantly put pressure on us to change who we are. They want us to surrender who God made us to be in order to please them.

Our latest video talks about being who God made us to be. In that video, we discuss many of the things that can cause us to give up who God made us to be. And we talk about how to avoid being pressured into changing just because certain people say we should.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to give it a watch.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Enjoy your day and keep pressing in to God.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-8-18

Matthew 5:6 (NKJV) 6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

As human beings, we can experience two kinds of hunger. One is our hunger for natural food; the things we eat that keep our body alive.

And then there is spiritual food; the things we “eat” that keep our spirit alive and thriving.

It’s safe to say that we all very much understand natural hunger. Our bodies tell us when we need to eat. Our stomachs rumble. We feel empty. And if we don’t eat enough, we can become faint and light-headed. If we don’t provide our bodies with proper nutrition, we can actually pass out.

In extreme circumstances, we can become physically sick, and ultimately die from starvation.

The same can be said for spiritual hunger. We feel the longing inside of us to be fed. Our spirit craves proper food and sustenance. And if we don’t feed our spirit properly, it will wither up and die. It will starve to death.

Many of us feel this hunger, this longing, and we try to fill it with the wrong things; material things, wealth, attention from others, physical affection and many other things.

But none of these will ever satisfy our spiritual hunger. And that’s because we fail to truly understand what this hunger really is. It’s a desire to draw closer to God and let Him satisfy us.

No, this isn’t about a God-shaped hole that we hear so much about when referring to our need for a Savior.

It’s about hungering and thirsting after righteousness. It’s about longing to know God in such an intimate way that nothing else will stop the craving. Nothing else will satisfy our hunger and our thirst.

Hungering and thirsting after righteousness will push us toward God in a way that is beyond words to describe it. And when we finally understand the hunger, and we begin to feast on God and His word, then and only then will we be filled.

Are we hungry and thirsty? Do we feel like we’re spiritually starving and undernourished?

We need to press into God. Draw near to Him. Let Him be the sole source of our sustenance.

James 4:8 (NKJV) 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-7-18

2 Timothy 4:7 (NKJV) 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

We are survivors, through Christ!

We don’t give up and we don’t give in. We live day to day and we fight the good fight.

Our minds may battle us at times, and sometimes it might get to the point where we just want to give in and do things the way our human understanding tells us to. But the voice that is strong within us keeps us walking on that straight and narrow path.

We are strong. We are moving forward. Satan is a loser and God has already won the battle!

Let us not grow weary in doing what is good. For in the end we will see it was all worth it.

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

We are ambassadors for Christ. We walk by faith and not by sight. Whatever battle we see in front of us now is not too hard for us to face. We need to put on God’s armor, stand firm on His words and His promises to us, and walk forward.

God is our Rock!

1 Samuel 2:2 (NKJV) 2 “No one is holy like the Lord, For there is none besides You, Nor is there any rock like our God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-6-18

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 (NKJV) 12 And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, 13 so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

Pastor Ellie and I were talking this morning about what God has been doing in our own lives, and the direction He has taken us over the last several years.

We will readily admit that we never had any idea that God would use us for the things He is using us for. But He has molded and shaped our hearts as He leads us to reach out and share His love, mercy and hope with others.

The verses above are our prayer for you, that He will make you increase and abound in love to one another, and to all.

He has taught us how to be content, no matter our situation. We learned to rest in Him whether we were prospering or in dire need. Our faith and trust are completely in Him. He is our provider and sustainer.

And so we also desire for all of you, that your trust would lie wholly in Him each and every minute of every day, no matter what comes your way.

Once we understand this and begin to live it out, we will begin to see God in new and life-changing ways. And our hearts will change.

Contentedness is not something that comes naturally. It takes letting God teach us how to be content in Him. And that comes completely by faith, as we grow to love Him and trust Him more.

Philippians 4:11-12 (NKJV) 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

We love you all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-5-18

Romans 8:37 (NKJV) 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Get up and celebrate, for we are victorious in Christ!

He has conquered every sickness and every disease through the stripes that He took on His back and the cross that He bore for us.

If we are struggling with any disease or addictions, we need to know that He has already won that battle. Believe in Him for deliverance and healing today. Don’t try to figure out when or where it will come from. Just trust it will happen the way He wants it to. Be willing to do whatever it takes.

Put our troubles in the Hands of the Man that went out of His way to save us. Listen to what He is saying and obey what He is prompting us to do.

Some of us need to give up drinking, smoking and drugging.

Some of us need to stop sleeping around, fornicating or committing adultery.

Some of us need to forgive someone.

Some of us need to give up our finances and sow a seed.

Some of us need to stop talking trash, using filthy language and laughing at dirty jokes.

Some of us need to stop spreading negativity.

God will show us our answer for our problem. We need to be willing to listen, willing to straighten up and take the necessary steps. If we really want it, we will go after it.

God help us to really want it today. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-4-18

Ephesians 2:4-5 (NKJV) 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

God’s grace is often misunderstood, under-valued, and sometimes even strangely twisted by some.

We recently had someone comment on one of our videos that was teaching about righteousness. In his comments, the man stated that God’s grace is not enough to save us.

He went on to say that we are ultimately saved by our works, and that God’s grace is only enough to erase the sins that we committed prior to finding Christ. After we are saved, it is up to us to earn our way into heaven by our own righteousness and good works.

If that was true, we would be in a heap of trouble. All of us.

Romans 3:10 (NKJV) 10 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;

You see, God wants us to live our lives righteously. His word tells us this many, many times, even in the New Testament, after Jesus had come and died for our sins. But this isn’t so we can earn our way into heaven.

It is to set an example to others and to show that we are no longer slaves to the sin that so strongly held us captive before we met Jesus.

The Bible tells us that if we are free in Christ, we are free indeed. It doesn’t say that we will be free if we live the rest of our lives 100% sinless. That is a human impossibility.

But because we now have the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us, God has equipped us to be able to resist temptation and walk away from sin as He leads us to do so.

Will we always do that perfectly? No. We will still make some poor choices at times. But we are told very bluntly that if we resist the devil, he will flee from us.

James 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Salvation and forgiveness are gifts of God. Plain and simple. They are not to be earned. They cannot be used like trophies that we have won in a race. We cannot boast in what we have done to secure them.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV) 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

If we are to boast in anything at all, it should only be in what Jesus has done for all of us.

Galatians 6:14 (NKJV) 14 But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-3-18

Matthew 5:13 (NKJV) 13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.

Being the salt of the earth takes getting our hearts right with God. Our hearts cannot be salty if we continue to do the things that put distance between us and the One who seasons us.

The closer we get to God, the more flavorful we will become. The further we get away from Him, the weaker we are, and we may not have any flavor at all. And that may be why the things we speak to others seem powerless and weak.

What we let God help us with, and the areas where we let Him change our hearts will depend on our salt level.

God seasons and strengthens us as we go to Him and obey what He may be asking us to change. He is our “Flavor Changer”, our “Salter”, so to speak.

How seasoned do we want to be?

The time we spend with Him will determine our strength level.

Isaiah 35:3 (NKJV) 3 Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-2-18 – Can God Use Me?

Can God Use me?Greetings in the beautiful name of Jesus!

Can God Use Me?

That’s the question we discuss in our latest video.

Many of us have done things in our past that we wish we hadn’t done. And sometimes these things can make us feel like God could never want to use us to do anything for Him.

In today’s video, we discuss this and touch on several points that each and every one of us can relate to.

We hope this video will minister to you and speak to your heart. So please be sure to watch it all the way through, so God can speak to you right where you’re at today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-1-18

2 Chronicles 15:7 (NKJV) 7 But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”

Hard work pays off. If we can remain strong, keep ourselves focused and stay diligent in the things that God has for us, we will be rewarded.

We all have things that God would like us to do. Making sure we keep everything in its proper order, by prioritizing, is something we will have to learn to do. It can be hard work balancing everything and keeping it in its right place.

So many times, we can get lost in the shuffle if we don’t prioritize and stay steadfast in the things that are important, and keep them at the forefront of everything.

One thing to remember if we have family, a spouse, kids, etc., they are our priority. God wants us to care for our home before our church.

If we can’t care for our family, we are absent from them all the time, and we don’t know where things stand at home, we are off in our priorities.

We need to be careful that excessive work, church activities or other activities don’t come before our family.

If that happens we will know it. We will usually feel stressed out, a loss of joy within ourselves and in our home. We will lose the unity, the tightness, and the closeness we need to keep our family together.

Be strong. Keep everything in our lives in its rightful place and watch how God will reward us.
