Bible Verse of The Day – 12-31-18

Deuteronomy 6:5 (NKJV) 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

As we move into a new year, many people tend to set their sights on new goals and things they want to accomplish in the coming weeks and months.

While this can sometimes be a good thing, the vast majority of the people who loosely commit themselves to these “New Year’s Resolutions” start off with a bang and then slowly fizzle, never reaching their intended goal.

This happens for a couple of reasons. 1, because they set unrealistic goals without ever “counting the cost”. 2, because they create these goals based on emotional feelings or on things they have seen others do.

Is it wrong to have goals? Absolutely not! Without goals, we will never move beyond where we are now. Nothing will ever change.

The important thing is to have the right motives when we set goals and to create goals that are God-inspired, not emotionally driven.

Our biggest and foremost goal should always be to put God before everything and everyone else. This is a goal that should be taken very seriously and pursued with a pure heart.

When we put God first and follow His leading, everything else in our lives eventually lines up and falls into place.

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

So, as we move into 2019, let us not get caught up in the New Year hype. But let’s get “caught up” in God, our loving and merciful Father who gave His all for us.

Doesn’t He deserve that we give our all for Him?

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-30-18 – Resolutions and Promises

Resolutions and PromisesGreetings in the name of Jesus!

It’s drawing close to the end of another year, and many of us are busy making resolutions about things we’d like to change in the new year.

What does God’s word say about making resolutions and promises? That’s exactly what we discuss in today’s video, called Resolutions and Promises.

God’s word gives us some pretty specific advice when it comes to these kinds of things. So, we hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it.

And whatever the new year brings your way, we pray that it is exactly what God wants for your life.

Be blessed in all you do!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-29-18

Thank You!Philippians 3:14 (NKJV) 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Dear Beloved family in Christ,

2018 is quickly coming to a close. We want to say thank you for all of your help this year.

At the beginning of this year, God laid it upon our hearts to press in to Him and go stronger and harder than before, to share His words of love and hope with more people around the world.

We need your help in doing this more than you know. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for your obedience in following God’s direction to help us.

Living the way we do, 100% by faith each day, can be difficult at times. And it surely is different than what we were used to before we answered God’s call. But we never look back. We love what we do and we love all of you!

Our hearts have grown closer to God. He is our everything. And all of you are very dear and special to us.

We just wanted you to know, “we love you guys.” And we are all working together, pressing toward this goal. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-28-18

Psalm 55:16 (NKJV) 16 As for me, I will call upon God, And the Lord shall save me.

God is willing to help us be all that we can be. We just have to be willing to give Him the fleshly desires that end up hurting us.

There are things in life that will give us a false sense of comfort and make us feel good for a short time. And there will be times we will desire them more than anything else, even if they are bad for us. We will put them before our family, our friends, our health and even before our love and commitment toward the Lord.

This is a scary place to be.

I know someone that is struggling today with this very sad and seemingly hopeless situation. He has lost everything, and he sits in prison waiting to be judged for actions he took while under the influence of something that he desired more than anything else.

Where is the comfort in that now?

Christ will help us put these destructive desires behind us today, if we are willing to open our hearts, cry out to Him, and then let Him lead us to freedom.

Psalm 6:4 (NKJV) 4  Return, O Lord, deliver me! Oh, save me for Your mercies’ sake!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-27-18

1 Corinthians 6:20 (NKJV) 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

One of the most important things we can learn to remember as a believer is that we are not our own.

We were bought at a price. And that price was very high. That price was paid by God, through the death of Jesus.

In return, God asks that we glorify Him in our bodies. This can take on many different shapes throughout our lives.

This means that, overall, our lives should exemplify Him in every way possible.

Exemplifying Him can take on many different forms for each of us. But no matter who we are, it means that our lives point to Him as our Lord above all else.

Sometimes it might mean being a helping hand to someone in need. Other times it may mean showing someone love who is feeling down and out. Or it might be that we smile and encourage someone who is depressed or alone.

There are many, many different ways we can glorify God in our bodies. We may end up doing some things in ways that we would never have thought of. But God can use us in an unlimited number of ways, as long as we keep ourselves open and available for Him.

Last, but not least, we can glorify Him in our bodies by being careful to take care of ourselves. He has blessed us with a physical body that is wonderfully created. So, as He asks us to glorify Him, let’s be sure to keep ourselves healthy so we can be available as He has need of us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-26-18

Luke 6:38 (NKJV) 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

God sees what we do with everything we have, including our finances. He knows if we are giving to Him from our firstfruits or not.

God is loving and patient with us, and He gives us time to understand certain things. He’s not forceful, but kind.

He knows when we have been shown and when we have heard enough, and that it is time for us to pass the test.

Today, that is the question for those whose hearts God has been working on. Are we listening and then taking the steps of obedience even in our finances?

Are we doing what is right with our finances, or are we doing what we want with them?

Taking the right steps with our finances will determine our outcome.

Did you know that we can actually tie God’s hands?. If within our will we say no to Him, we have effectively tied His hands.

He gives us a free will to do what we choose. He won’t force us to do anything. He will just show us what He wants and then wait until we freely do what He is asking us to do.

Then He can do His part.

Whether we follow His timing or not is entirely up to us. But choosing to do things our own way can get us into some trouble at times.

He is waiting on us to pass the test regarding our finances so He can take us to the next level and measure back to us with the same measure that we use.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-25-18

Luke 2:11 (NKJV) 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Today, December 25, we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

While this date is more than likely not the actual birth date of Jesus, it is the day that has been set aside to commemorate His birth and celebrate the day that the Light of the world stepped down out of heaven and took up residence here with us in an earth suit… a human body.

Immanuel, God with us.

Matthew 1:23 (NKJV) 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

It’s important that we understand the significance of that phrase, “God with us”. For it seems that most times it is very overlooked.

Many might simply say it means God is with us. But in reality, it more accurately means God, with us.

To say that God is with us is a more ambiguous statement that means God is with us in a general sense.

But to fully understand this, we will know that those three words point directly to Jesus and state boldly, “This is Jesus, God with us”.

And this is why we celebrate!

God chose to come to earth and dwell among us in the person of Jesus Christ, not acting as a King to be served, but to be made a little lower than the angels and become a servant to all.

Hebrews 2:9 (NKJV) 9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.

So, join us today in celebrating the birth of our Savior and King, Jesus Christ, Lord of all. God, with us.

Amen!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-24-18

John 1:12 (NKJV) 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name…

How do we become children of God? We receive and believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior, our Messiah, and our Lord!

This is the most wonderful thing we could have in this life!

When we truly open up and repent from our sins, the freedom and peace we get is phenomenal.

Our spirit unites with God, through His precious Son, Jesus Christ. And we begin to want to learn more and more about Him. As we study Him, and the way He desires for us to live, we will begin to change. Our hearts will grow soft.

When our hearts become soft and compliant enough, God will begin to use us here on earth.

Eventually, if we let God continue to shape us, we will sell ourselves out to Him.

The disciples gave up everything they knew in order to follow Jesus. That is what will take place in our hearts if we allow it to happen.

Our life as a child of God is a constant journey of learning, training and becoming all that He so desires for us to be.

He is a heart changer, and for a very good purpose!

Every one of us will change, but how much we change will depend on our willingness. We are all different and unique in many ways. Some of us move quickly and others tend to move a little more cautiously or slowly.

The important thing is that when God changes our hearts, we will be ready to move when He says to move, change when He says to change and let go when He says to let go.

There is no holding back from Him when He truly touches us and brings change to our hearts.

It is rewarding to serve as a child of God.

Mark 10:45 (NKJV) 45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-23-18 – And Such Were Some of You – Part 2

Please click to watch the video now.Greetings!

As promised, we have published part 2 of last week’s video, And Such Were Some of You – Part 2.

In this week’s video, we talk about the specific types of sins that Paul was speaking to the Corinthian Christians about. We also discuss the impacts of those sins, and then we talk about how to get free from them.

God has provided a way of freedom for each one of us. We just have to follow Him and walk it out, one step at a time. It isn’t always easy, but with God’s guidance, we will break free of the bondage that we are in.

We hope you will take a few minutes and watch this, and then share it with others, as well.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Enjoy your day, and walk in the blessings of God along the way.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-22-18

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

It’s important to be alert to what is going on around us. The thief that comes to steal from us is always on the prowl. But no matter what he tries to do, we can get through it as we let God show us the way to win.

Sometimes we feel discouraged and we wonder if there is even a point in trying anymore. It feels like one thing after the other. We just get through something and then we are hit again with something else.

But here’s the thing; There is a point.

1 John 4:4 (NKJV) 4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

We are of God, and will come through it.

We have His greatness in us, working through us, to make sure of this. His hand can reach us and His plan for us stands, no matter what comes our way, as long as we hold onto Him tightly.

Don’t let the thief steal our joy, kill our hope, or destroy our faith. Stand on the promise of our Father. Take hold of His hand today, and walk.

Numbers 11:23 (NKJV) 23 And the Lord said to Moses, “Has the Lord’s arm been shortened? Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not.”

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-21-18

John 8:32 (NKJV) 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

One day I was at the hospital visiting an alcoholic patient. The nurse was speaking to the family, explaining that if he didn’t stop his drinking, his life expectancy was, at most, 5 years. He was young.

The thing that caught my attention was not the short life expectancy, but the response of the patient’s parent when they heard it.

They were actually upset with the nurse, wondering how she could say such a terrible thing about their child, even though they knew he had a “problem with it”.

I listened and watched and as I took it all in, I realized that day how we can really harm ourselves by ignoring the truth.

This young man literally drank his life away and was still wanting more, even though he was told he only had 5 years left. What is that?

It is ignoring the truth and buying the lie. Our emotions can open the door to this and cause us to ignore the truth, even though the consequences of what we’re doing may be staring us in the face. It will drive us to an early death, both naturally and spiritually.

What lie are we buying into today just because it makes us feel better about our situation?

God wants to bring healing and deliverance to us, but until we stop buying the lie and we face the truth, His hands are tied.

Lies can give us a false sense of comfort. Truth may come with some pain and it may hurt a bit at first. But in the long run it will bring healing, deliverance, and joy to us for a lifetime.

The truth will set us free if we let it.

Dear God in Heaven,

We cry out to You today for the truth in our situation. Give us eyes to see it and ears to hear it and the strength to follow it. We want to be set free from the bondage that we are in, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
