Bible Verse of The Day – 8-9-18

2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV) 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

For many centuries people have wondered and asked why God is taking so long for Jesus to return. After all, the world is a mess. Morals have decayed terribly. Violence is at all-time highs around the world. And so many other things are happening that make the world a challenging place to live.

So why is it that God has kept His people waiting here on earth for so very long, having to endure trials and hard times?

Because He is patient and doesn’t want anyone to perish without the chance to repent.

This may make no sense whatsoever to our minds. It may be hard for us to understand. In fact, we may not be able to understand it at all with our intellect.

But as we learn to know and hear God’s heart, we will begin to understand it a little at a time.

As humans, we tend to get angry with what we see happening around us. This can lead to frustration and may even cause us to have feelings toward others that we know God doesn’t want us to have. This brings us to a place where we need to lean on God every single day, to guide us and teach us to live by the Spirit and not by the flesh.

There is also the very major factor of God’s plans and the things that need to be carried out before He can return. There are many things that He has spoken of through His prophets that must happen. Only He knows the timing of those things.

But one thing is for sure. When the time is right, God will bring everything into order. In due season, He will put everything in its proper place.

Galatians 6:9 (NKJV) 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

So, don’t lose heart and don’t lose hope. God is faithful to do what He said He will do when He knows the time is right.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-8-18

Numbers 23:19 (NKJV) 19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

We want to encourage you all today. God is God!

He is not a man that should say one thing and do something else. He sticks to His promises. He tells us what He would like to do for us. And then as we trust Him, He does it the way it needs to be done.

Look at Abraham and Sarah. They were very old. She was well past her child-bearing days. But, God said He would give them a child, and He gave them Isaac. He is faithful in what He says He will do.

Genesis 17:21 (NKJV) 21 But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year.”

As God’s children, we have to get used to things being done differently than how we might expect them to be done. But, don’t get scared that they will never come or that it won’t happen.

Don’t get negative or disappointed when we don’t see anything changing right away. Be strong, stand firm, keep trusting and thanking Him just the same. He takes what He says serious.

Matthew 7:9 (NKJV) 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-7-18

Proverbs 16:24 (NKJV) 24 Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, Sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.

Our mouths speak many, many words on a daily basis. What comes out of them is driven by what’s in our hearts. And what’s in our hearts is based on where we’re at in our walk with God.

Obviously, not a single one of us is perfect, even if we wish that we were. We will have good days and bad days, good hours and bad hours, and even good moments and bad moments.

But as a whole, it’s important that we allow God to mold us and shape us so that when we speak, the words that leave our mouths are pleasing to Him. If they’re pleasing to Him, they will be the best words that could be spoken.

This doesn’t mean that we should never say things that might offend someone. Sometimes the truth offends those who need to hear it. But it’s not due to the way it’s said. It’s due to fact that it’s said, because it contains truth.

Jesus spoke words that offended many simply because He addressed things that needed to be addressed and confronted people who needed to be confronted. The important part, though, is that He spoke things with love, not with a haughty or judgmental attitude.

So should our words be spoken, pleasant like honeycomb, albeit through the somewhat tainted heart of a less-than-perfect human being, but ultimately giving sweetness to the soul and health to the bones. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-6-18

Matthew 5:14 (NKJV) 14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

We are the light of the world. Why? Because as we let God’s Spirit live in us, we are full of His life. Abundant life!

Can we even comprehend the magnificence of His Spirit living in us? Maybe not. Our minds aren’t that big. But if we just have the faith and trust, He will do things right before our very eyes.

How AWESOME to have the Spirit of the Son of the living God, living, moving and breathing, not just in us, but through us.

Now, to be the light of the world we must let Him move through us each day. Yes, some days we are tired and not as willing. But, the days that we are willing, He will open doors for us to walk through that are amazing!

For example, it could be a phone call from someone that needs encouragement. It could be someone standing in line at the grocery store that just needs someone to be patient with them. It could be a little child that may need someone to sit with them and read them a story. It’s not hard or complicated, but comes naturally to us as children of God.

Don’t always look for that BIG thing that we think God will use us for. Stay open to what the Holy Spirit aligns us with at that moment and go for it. He will put in our mouths and hearts what is needed at that time. Just be open minded with whatever He would like to do and shine that light, sister and brother!

With Christ in us we are destined to shine. It’s up to us to agree with the Holy Spirit and let Him be free in us.

Rest in Him, have fun, and let the world know who we are in Christ!! Full of life. Amen.

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-5-18

Please click to watch the video now.Good day!

We pray that your walk with God is growing and flourishing.

Where does your hope lie?

That’s the question we want to ask you today. And that’s the topic of our brand-new video.

Sometimes we unknowingly shift our hope from being rooted in God, to the things we’re hoping for. We don’t do it purposely. It just kind of happens. And when this happens it can cause problems in many ways.

Once we realize this is happening, it’s not difficult to fix. And once it’s fixed, it will be easy to keep it from happening again in the future.

We hope that this new video will give you some fresh insights.

Be mightily blessed in Him.

Sincerely,

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-4-18

Matthew 16:15-16 (NKJV) 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

He was the Christ, the Son of the living God! He lived among man and He was perfect. He was pure. He was righteous and miraculous in His life here!

The work that was done through Jesus Christ was done solely by the power of the Holy Spirit.

John 1:32 (NKJV) 32 And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.

The Holy Spirit remained upon Jesus throughout His work here on this earth.

It is impossible for any man or woman to minister, in the way God has intended for us, without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. And it is impossible to live the life God has intended for us individually without the Holy Spirit moving through us.

John 14:26 (NKJV) 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

We need our Helper. We need to be taught, prompted and reminded constantly throughout our day of the things we need to hear, do and say.

Some of us have been trying so hard to get things right. Our hearts are willing, but we keep failing because we lack what it will take to get it done. It takes the Holy Spirit.

Today, ask Him to come and help us in our decisions, in our trials, in our raising and training up of our children, in our ministry and in our everyday walk.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-3-18

Ephesians 5:25 (NKJV) 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her…

I’ve been a husband for over 35 years. And I have loved every moment of it.

During those 35+ years I have learned a few things about the responsibilities of being a good husband and what God wants husbands to do. I didn’t learn these things by my own intelligence or wisdom. God has taught them to me.

First, anyone can be a husband. All they need to do is find a woman and marry them. That’s it. They are now a husband.

But, being a good husband is a whole other story. So, let’s talk about that.

God has told us that to be a good husband, we need to love our wives as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her. That’s a pretty tall order.

Loving our wife the way Christ loved the church means that we put her first, before ourselves. It means that we treat her with respect and honor. It means that we don’t treat them as a piece of property.

It also means that we don’t look at them as a prized possession or a trophy to be paraded before our friends and family. We treat them as a blessing from God, not as a showcase piece.

If our wife is beautiful, then we thank God for her beauty. We don’t flaunt it before others in inappropriate photos. We don’t parade them in front of other men as a status symbol. We don’t smile as other men ogle them, knowing that they can look but not touch.

We protect the sanctity of their love for us by acting as their covering. It’s hard to do this if we’re more concerned with impressing our friends than we are with the welfare of our wife.

In these days of social media, it’s important that we be careful with what we post when it comes to our wife. We may be awestruck with their beauty, but parading it before the world only makes them look like objects of our pride on display.

This might seem like a bit of an odd message to some, but it’s extremely relevant and timely for the day and age that we live in.

Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church. Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-2-18

Isaiah 50:7 (NKJV) 7 “For the Lord God will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.

We can never be sure what each new day will bring.

We get emails every day from people all around the world. My Bible Verse of The Day is far-reaching, praise be to God!

We are still in awe over the places, homes, businesses, ministries, etc. that it reaches. We love to watch God move in the countless lives of those who receive our emails. We are very honored to be able to serve in whatever way that we can.

Today we received a different kind of email. This one was from a woman that we know in a nearby city. We know her because about 7 years ago, she had booked a guided fishing trip for her husband with Pastor Curt. Every year since then he would look forward to that annual trip to catch some bass.

But the email we received today was that he would not be booking another trip because he had passed away on July 10. Instead, she was asking for help with selling her husband’s boat.

She told us that one of the last things he wanted to do before he passed away was to get out on the water again with Pastor Curt. Sadly, he wasn’t able to do so.

You see, we just don’t know from day to day what we will hear or be faced with. No one does. And, as we have said many times before, we never know when our last day will be.

But one thing for sure that we can hold onto is that the Lord God will help us in whatever we may be facing.

It’s important that we set our face like a flint and press into Him. He is our answer, no matter what we face. Set it on Him and move forward. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 8-1-18

1 John 1:7 (NKJV) 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

Before we put our faith in Christ, we are dirty, stained by our sin. At the very moment we put our faith in Christ, He washes us with His blood. We are made clean.

It would be really nice if we would stay clean. But as humans, we have a tendency to get dirty, over and over again.

How do we get clean and stay clean? Is it even possible for us?

Yes. It is possible. And here is how.

First, the verse above says that if we walk in the light (avoid darkness), the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.

So, we need to avoid darkness and the things associated with it.

Second, God has told us that if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful to forgive those sins.

1 John 1:9 (NKJV) 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

So we see that we need to confess our sins to Him. When we do so, He is faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from them.

The thing is, if we continue in sin, we will also continue to get dirty. It’s like a vicious cycle. God cleanses us, we get dirty, we need a bath, God washes us as we confess our sins.

The key is to change that cycle and learn to avoid the darkness and the sin that abounds there. Once we do this, we will find ourselves less apt to get caught up in sin and much less likely to be constantly running to God for forgiveness.

Here is the secret, straight from God’s word:

Galatians 5:24-25 (NKJV) 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

We need to crucify the flesh and live by the Spirit. If we say that we are Christ’s, but we are repeatedly wallowing in sin, we need to check ourselves and let God put His finger on those things that keep causing us to fall and get dirty.

Once we do that, and we pay attention to what He shows us and tells us, obeying His instructions, we will then begin to get a handle on our sinful ways and start to see a decline in the number of times we find ourselves “getting dirty”.

Walk in the light as He is in the light.
