Bible Verse of The Day – 4-19-18

Matthew 15:10-11 (NKJV) 10 When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear and understand: 11 Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.”

It’s crucial that we pay attention to the words we speak. We must watch our mouths if we want to get ahead in life.

We are not children. We are adults. We can’t be saying things that are not good; gossip, slander, lies, foul language and negativity. It will hurt us and set us back in many ways.

Our motion with God should always be focusing on moving forward. We should not be setting ourselves back, especially with our own tongue.

If we are wondering today why we are not moving forward, we may need to take a good look at the words we speak.

What are we saying that could be defiling us? Check ourselves today and make sure our language is clean. And if it isn’t, let’s ask God to help us clean up our talk.

We will see change and forward motion only when we begin speaking words that are pleasing to God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-18-18

John 15:5 (NKJV) 5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

I have heard, “you can do it!”. I have been told, “You can do it if you just try! You can do this, if you put your mind to it! You can really do it, you have what it takes!”.

These words, even though they were intended to encourage me, have actually kept me back at times, because I really believed what people would say to me. I believed that I could do it.

I’ve learned over the years that there are things that, no matter how hard I try, I really can’t do. On my own, I don’t have what it takes. The harder I tried the more disappointed I was.  Anyone else feel like that today?

I have to share what changed me from being disappointed to having peace in regards to this. I learned it was OK to admit that there were some things that I couldn’t do!

As a matter of fact, in order for me to be able to do what I needed to do, I had to humbly accept this truth. I needed help from Someone.

But, that wasn’t where it ended. I needed to learn to ask Him for help. I needed to listen and take the steps that He would tell me to take. And then, I needed to wait; wait on Him to do His part as well.

Together we got it done! That Someone is Christ. And whatever arrangements He would make, I agreed to follow and line up with.

He is my Rock and my Salvation. He has helped me do things I could never do on my own and I will admit it. Because I’ve learned that without Him I can do nothing. And it’s OK. We can’t do it on our own. We need help with what we are trying to do. We just need to ask.

Our Lord will help us and He will see us through to the end. Amen.

Psalm 31:3 (NKJV) 3 For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, Lead me and guide me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-17-18

Luke 19:2-4 (NKJV) 2 Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. 3 And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. 4 So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way.

Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus. He knew that Jesus was different. He knew that Jesus was not like so many of the other religious people of that day who shunned those who were perceived as being different or unworthy of their time and attention.

Zacchaeus also knew that seeing Jesus was difficult because so many others wanted to see Him too. They crowded in around Him and pressed in tightly when He passed through their villages and cities.

But Zacchaeus had a plan. Being a short man, he knew that the only way he would be able to see Jesus was to climb a tree and rise above the multitudes, making a way for him to see. So he climbed a Sycamore tree!

You see, Zacchaeus knew that Jesus was worth whatever effort it would take, even just to see Him!

Zacchaeus just wanted to see Him. Others wanted to touch Him.

What about us? How much effort are we willing to put forth? How much are we willing to do when it comes to getting to Jesus?

We all need something from God. Some of us need small things. Some of us need big things. But not a single one of us will ever get what it is that we’re seeking if we just sit by and do nothing.

Thinking it is not enough. Saying it isn’t enough. We need to do something!

Today is the day to get up, take action and rise above the crowd, doing whatever is necessary to get to Jesus. Then and only then will we get whatever it is that we need from Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-16-18

Genesis 2:2 (NKJV) 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.

If God Himself took a rest, then so must we also rest.

Some of us never stop. We don’t know how to. We keep going and going. Even on our days off we are trying to be productive, making sure we get things done.

Work without rest is not good. Even though our minds may feel better about what we have accomplished, our physical bodies need rest.

Sometimes we forget we are only human and not some kind of super hero. We need to take some time to smell the flowers, breathe the fresh air, look up at the sky, sit outside and listen to the birds, the ocean waves or just do something like walking, hiking, bike riding or fishing!

Take a break. Go and do something where we don’t have to think.

Life and its demands can sometimes get very overwhelming. It’s OK for us to put on the brakes and say, “I need to have a few minutes, a few hours or maybe a few days to just sit. No schedule, no work, and no phone”.

Do we do this? Or do we push through, exhaust ourselves even further, ending up sick, cranky and burned out?

Rest is important. Our health is important to God. Go and get some rest! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – Dabbling in Spirits – 4-15-18

Greetings in the name of Jesus!

We hope that you are being blessed in your walk with God and drawing closer and closer to Him each day.

The new video that we have for you today is a bit different than usual. Why? Because it deals with a topic that we don’t hear much about. It’s also a topic that absolutely needs to be discussed and taught on.

We are spiritual beings. God created us with a spirit because He wants our spirit to commune with Him. But there are many counterfeits that try to pass themselves off as the Holy Spirit. And our new video talks specifically about them.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Many people will be surprised when we talk about these things and give examples of them. But most of us are at least vaguely familiar with most of them.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Others of us have dabbled in some of them off and on during our lives. And we talk about this in the video also.

So we hope you’ll take a few minutes and watch this very informative, important teaching, so you’ll gain understanding when it comes to these things that can so greatly affect our lives.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Please be sure to pass the video along to others.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-14-18

Matthew 6:1 (NKJV) 1 “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven.

When we do good things, and no one else knows what we did, know that God is watching. It brings Him great pleasure. It means a lot to Him!

If we are a parent, an Aunt, an Uncle, a guardian or any kind of leader, we know what it feels like when our child, our student or someone dear to us does a good thing. It’s a blessing. It brings satisfaction and joy to our hearts!

Imagine, if we feel like this, how our Father in Heaven feels when we, His children, act in such a manner.

Pleasing our Father brings satisfaction and a peace to our hearts.

I hear God saying to you today…

“Keep up the good work. You are doing great!  Don’t worry if no one else noticed what you have done and what you continue to do. I see you and I love it! You are a blessing to My heart and your reward will come from Heaven.”

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-13-18

Proverbs 27:17 (NKJV) 17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

Accountability is something that not many of us think about when it comes to our walk with God. Especially when it comes to being accountable to others.

Oh, most of us understand that we need to be accountable to God. After all, He is the ultimate authority.

But, when it comes to being accountable to man, those people around us, some of us turn and run.

Accountability is something that the Bible takes very seriously. The verse above tells us that we are like iron sharpening iron when we keep ourselves accountable to others.

And there are many other verses like it, that teach us to be accountable to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

James 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Additionally, we are also told that we are to be accountable to those in authority over us. We are to obey the laws of the land in which we live. By doing so, we represent Christ favorably to others, not causing them grief or hardship.

Hebrews 13:17 (NKJV) 17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

Choosing not to be accountable to others, being stubborn, or choosing not to obey the laws of the land we live in is rebellion. Some may take this lightheartedly and think that it’s no big deal. But God looks at it very seriously.

God considers rebellion to be equal to witchcraft! And He says stubbornness is a type of idolatry!

1 Samuel 15:23 (NKJV) 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry…

If we pay attention, we will notice that rebellion will always be accompanied by chaos. Those who are stubborn and rebellious will always have a buzz about them. There is never peace, and there will almost always be some kind of crisis going on in their lives.

It’s critical that we, first and foremost, submit ourselves to God. And secondly, we submit ourselves to those in authority over us. Without doing this, we will never have God’s peace in our lives. And we will likely spend most of our time bouncing from one crisis to another, to another.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-12-18

Isaiah 53:5-6 (NKJV) 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Another word for iniquity is sin. He took the rap for all our sin. He was bruised, whipped and mocked. He was beaten beyond recognition and nailed to a cross.

Who would do this for us?  Who would ever put us before their own needs and desires? Jesus Christ, the Son of God. A Man that was born of a virgin.

Even though He was the Son of the Most High God, He still felt pain, He still had emotions and He still wept, like we do. His heart ached at different times and He felt loneliness, just like us.

I overlooked these things as a child and just took it for granted, that because He was God’s Son, God protected Him from the pain of the crucifixion. I had it in my head that He could do what He did for me with no problem. I neglected to realize and understand that He was still a Man of flesh, just like us.

He felt it all. Don’t think He didn’t. He felt the stripes. He felt the nails. He didn’t get away with anything because of being the Son of God. What this man did for each one of us was priceless. It was beyond our human understanding of love.

What does He ask for in return? He asks for us to receive Him and His love. And to love others like He loves us.

His love changes hard hearts and makes them soft and new. His love brings life!

John 13:34-35 (NKJV) 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Thank you, Jesus, for what you did for us. We are ever so grateful and humbled!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-11-18

Ephesians 4:32 (NKJV) 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Kindness seems to have gone out of style for so many. The world is a very busy place, and our lives have gotten busier and busier.

In all of our hustle and bustle, we can tend to get edgy and cranky. And this can make it easy for us to lash out at others over the smallest little things.

Here’s what we all need to understand; everyone makes mistakes. Sometimes we just get hurrying around and make choices in a split second. And those kinds of choices can have drastic outcomes from time to time.

We can say something with the wrong tone that causes conflict or hurts someone’s feelings.

We can make a quick move that puts us or others in danger, like maybe not paying close enough attention while driving a car.

We can make an irrational decision, the outcome of which has lasting effects on our life and the lives of others.

It’s critical that we heed God’s word and sow kindness, tenderheartedness and forgiveness to others. Why? Because God has done the very same for us, through Jesus.

So, let’s slow down, make decisions and choices with a sound mind and the Spirit of God guiding us. And heed His promptings.

Our lives and the lives of others will be much better for it, as we shine His light and sow His kindness to those around us each and every day.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-10-18

Matthew 9:17 (NKJV) 17 Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”

When we outgrow things, it brings change. Just because we have done something the same way for a long time, that doesn’t make doing it differently wrong.

When things are fun and they go well, we like to have them happen the same way over and over again. Why not? After all, it went well!

But, sometimes when seasons change we try to force things to go the same way. And what happens? It doesn’t feel the same. It doesn’t go the same, and we don’t get the same results. We can feel that something has changed.

We can automatically think there is something very wrong. But, that’s not always the case. Sometimes it just simply means that we outgrew the old; it’s time for change and time for the new to come.

If we are not careful we will be negative about it and we will never get to see how God wants to use it. But, if we let it flow and we let God lead us in it, eventually we will see why things had to change and it will all turn out to be very good.

New things come in at times, and usually when we least expect it. We need to embrace them and let God show us what He wants to do with them!

Don’t try to mix it up with the old stuff. The new and the old don’t usually mix well. If anything, it can ruin things.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-9-18

1 John 4:19 (NKJV) 19 We love Him because He first loved us.

As believers, we may sometimes go through seasons where we feel like we’re in a rut. No matter what we do, it all just feels like a routine, a ritual, a mechanical repetition of what we know how to do.

We may even start to doubt our faith, as we begin to lose touch with God and as His presence seems to wane.

When this happens, the first thing we need to understand is that God has not gone anywhere. He is always near. He is always right where we left Him.

Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV) 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

When we feel like this, it’s always something amiss on our end, not on His. It might be due to choices we’ve made. It might be due to things that have happened to us. It might be due to our lives being too busy. It might be due to many, many different things.

But there is one thing for sure, God never, ever leaves us. He is omnipotent, all powerful. He is omniscient, all-knowing. He is omnipresent, in all places at all times.

Our spiritual fatigue isn’t due to overworking our spirit. It’s due to undernourishment of our spirit. It’s due to lack of exercise for our spirit. It’s due to lack of knowledge in our spirit.

Hosea 4:6 (NKJV) 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…

And, ultimately, it all comes down to one thing. We don’t fully understand or comprehend God’s love for us. If we did, we would never, ever struggle again in our walk with Him.

Once we begin to understand His love for us, really understand it, we will begin to fall so deeply in love with Him that nothing will be able to pry us away from Him. In fact, we will develop a longing to be closer to Him than we could ever imagine.

Our faith will grow. Our desire to pull closer and closer to Him will grow. And whatever doubts we have will slowly fade away.

If our spirit is hungry for Him, we need to feed it. But not with religion and tradition. We need to feed it with Him. His word. His presence. His joy. Giving Him thanks. And showing Him gratefulness for all that He has done for us.

Amen
