Bible Verse of The Day – 2-6-18

Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Kindness goes a long way in many situations. Kindness doesn’t cost us anything to give out to others. And it spreads the love of God with very little effort.

Strangely, kindness seems to have gone out of style in many places, including in the body of Christ.

Some people can be very “snappy” if someone does something that bothers them, even if it was done unintentionally. Lacking God’s grace and His discernment, they lash out at people in a split second.

This can hurt people. But, more importantly, it can push people away from God if the person being lashed out at knows that the other person is a believer.

Yes, we all have bad days. And sometimes we can say something very quickly, without thinking beforehand. This is why it’s so important that we are slow to speak, quick to listen and slow to anger.

James 1:19 (NKJV) 19 So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;

Jesus told us that others would know that we are His disciples by our love for others, so it’s imperative that we exercise patience with others and show them the love and kindness that we have been told to show.

John 13:35 (NKJV) 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

So, let’s exercise patience and kindness with those we come into contact with. The kindness we show them may make the difference between a good day and a bad day for them in the short run.

And in the long run it just might mean the difference between drawing them toward God or pushing them away.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-5-18

Mark 11:24 (NKJV) 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

One of the things people have the hardest time with is believing that God would actually want to help us in our situation. Maybe that’s why we try so hard to do things on our own and get stuck in a rut, because to think someone wants to helps us is almost unheard of these days.

People seem to all have their own problems, their own issues and their own life to live. This is true, but one of the things we need to remember is that God is God, a loving and very caring Father. He enjoys and truly wants to help us.

He will bring certain people around to be just that; a helping hand in time of need. It could just be a word of encouragement, or a word of wisdom. It could be a hot cooked meal, or a card containing a financial blessing.

We don’t know what God will do, or how He will do it. But we must believe for His help to come to us in the right way and the right time.

Believe God today. He wants to be the One to carry us through. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – Gaining Victory and Not Losing Ground (Part 3) – 2-4-18

Greetings!

Trials, tribulations, seasons of famine; we all experience them. And not a single one of us enjoys them!

But, as we press in to God and let Him lead us through those tough times, He will teach us a lot, if we let Him.

We published a new video today where we discuss this in great detail.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Today’s video is the final in a set of three where we share things that we learned while going through a 5-year-long season of trials that God used to teach us how to lean on Him, press in to Him, listen for His leading, and then to follow Him.

And wow! The things we learned were incredible.

Please click here to watch the video now.

All of these things will benefit others as we share them because it’s not about us. It’s about what God did and how He did it. So there’s something here for everyone to learn.

We hope you’ll take a few minutes to watch it and share it with others who might benefit from it.

Please click here to watch the video now.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-3-18

John 6:9 (NKJV) 9 “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”

God uses people who are in the right place, with the right goods, at the right time, to fulfill His miracles.

Look at this boy and what he had to offer; five loaves of bread, and two fish. Was it enough to feed all 5,000 people? No, not alone.

However, Jesus took it and He gave thanks. He then gave it to the disciples to distribute among the people. And there was PLENTY! More than enough, with 12 baskets left over. Praise be to God!

John 6:13 (NKJV) 13 Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.

This young boy, with his 2 fish and 5 barley loaves, was in the right place at the right time.

Have we ever thought that where we are right now, or what we have in our possession may be exactly what God may use to do a miracle?

Maybe we have never thought that God will use us in doing such a thing. But He may. He may use what we have; our goods, our gifts, our compassion, our prayers, etc. We just don’t know, do we?

God is God. He does miracles. Would we be open and willing, like this boy, to give to God what He is asking in that moment?

We never know when we will be part of a miracle that God is performing for someone. Just be ready to say yes.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-2-18

Proverbs 4:25 (NKJV) 25 Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you.

Cleaning our plates of the things that are not for us to do helps us to focus on the things that are for us to do. We have more oomph, so to speak, to do more and go further.

Helping others is important, to be sure. But we must remember to listen to God, to know who He wants us to help. We can’t just help everyone. We can only be stretched just so far.

Helping the wrong person at the wrong time can cause a huge distraction, and it might even cause us to miss out on helping someone we were supposed to help.

We need to stay focused and learn to say that very little, very powerful word at times, when needed; “NO”.

If we spend our time doing things that are not meant for us to be doing, we may actually be doing things that should be for someone else to do. And the person that should be doing it is getting out of their responsibilities.

So, even though it may look like we are helping, we may really be hurting or making the situation worse.

We don’t say that to discourage anyone from helping others. We say it so that we will be prayerful when we are asked, or when we feel the need to help.

Sometimes we just know and we go. That’s fine, because everything in us is saying help. They need it.

But those moments when we are not sure, we need to listen to what we are feeling. Take the time needed and pray about it. God will guide us in the things He wants us to take on.

Stay focused.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-1-18

Genesis 22:1 (NKJV) 22 Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”

Tests. Each one is different, but they all have one thing in common; we need to pass them if we wish to be promoted to the next level.

Very few of us like tests. But they’re a part of life, whether we’re school children or adults who have long since graduated school.

In school, we are given many, many tests. We have quizzes, tests and exams. Each type has increasing levels of difficulty and requires more preparation to get a sufficient grade to pass it. And when we pass all of the required tests, we get promoted to the next grade.

And so it is also with God. We get tested. We pass or we fail. If we pass, we move on. If we fail, we get to take that same test over again.

The tests God puts before us can be of many varieties. Some might test our faith. Others might test our obedience. And still others might test us to see if we have learned a specific thing that He is trying to teach us; finances, relationships, humility, etc.

We can usually tell if we have failed a specific test because we will find ourselves going through the same kind of situation repeatedly. If we make the wrong choices, we get to do it again. If we make the right choices, and we pass that test, we get to move on.

So, are we finding ourselves going through the same kind of situations over and over again? Does the thing we’re facing right now look like the thing we faced last month or last year?

Are we making the same choices and decisions we made in the past? And do we keep getting the same results as we have always gotten?

Maybe it’s time to change some things up, brush up on our listening skills and ace this test we’re taking over and over, so we can pass it and graduate!
