Bible Verse of The Day – 9-19-17

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

How close do we want to get to God? Do we want to be really close, so that we know when He is telling us something, and we hear Him clearly? Or do we just want Him around when we are stuck and there is no other choice but to call on Him?

Do we just want to remember Him on Sundays, Christmas and Easter, and have a nice fuzzy and warm feeling during those times?

This is a personal question, between us and God, because whatever we decide will determine how strong our walk and our relationship are with Him.

You see, the more we give up for Him, the more He gives back to us. The more we let Him be in our lives, the closer we will become to Him.

If we make Him a part of our daily walk, our faith in Him will grow. Our communication and sensitivity with Him will become much clearer.

Reading God’s word is what helps us to walk upright each day. And through His words He will lead us personally, as to what to do in whatever circumstances we run into.

Along with reading His word and praying these three steps will help us follow God closely.

  1. Reaching a point where we no longer care about what people think of us. As long as God is pleased with us, that’s all that matters.
  1. We make a decision within ourselves that we will do whatever it takes to do the right thing, even if we mess up while trying. We don’t give up. We repent and try again until we get it right.
  1. Our desires need to change so that we want what God wants for us more than what we want for ourselves.

These steps will help us tremendously in our walk with God. We will notice a closeness and a friendship, and a trust like never before.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-18-17

1 Corinthians 15:58 (NKJV) 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

What is the work of the Lord in our own lives?

The work of the Lord is different for each one of us. Most times, it will be wherever God has placed us. It is in that place that we need to focus on how and what He wants us to do.

It may be in our own personal situation. Or it might be on a job that we have. It could be in a school that we attend. It could be within our family or in our marriage, etc.

Anything that is right in front of us, and we are positioned to deal with, is our work. And we need to take it seriously.

We need to do His work in such a way that we give it our all and we do it by His strength, His wisdom and the leading of His spirit.

We need to do it as if we are doing it unto Him. We’re not doing it to please anyone other than our Father. And as we do so, we will be serving God and helping others.

It’s very simple. Wherever we are at any given time, we work with whatever opportunities God presents to us. And we do it the very best we can.

Colossians 3:23 (NKJV) 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men…

We can’t let man dictate to us how things should be done. We need to have an understanding of how our Father in heaven would like it done, and do it His way.

Be immovable and know that taking such a stance will be not for our own gain, but pleasing to God.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-16-17

John 11:35 (NKJV) 35 Jesus wept.

Why would Jesus weep?

Because He truly cares for you and I. His love and compassion are so deep for each one of us personally, He showed such love by serving.

How did He serve? He healed and delivered people constantly while He was here. He showed God’s compassion and mercy by forgiving people for their sins. And He ultimately gave His life for us all. He had a loving, caring servant’s heart.

Do we know anyone else who would go the distance that He went for us? Do we know any person that cared so much for our destiny that they made provision through the giving of their own life?

He doesn’t talk about us or look down at us because of our errors. But, instead, He wants to encourage us to keep trying, again and again. He will stand with us and help us through our weak moments. He is a true friend.

John 15:15 (NKJV) 15 No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

What a wonderful friend we have in Jesus. He will stick with us through it all. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-15-17

Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV) 10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

We were praying for someone the other day who is battling a disease. As we were praying for them, God showed us that they had lost their joy because of all that they were going through.

The devil will try so hard to steal our joy by getting us to focus on our problems. If all we can see before us is our problems we will get depressed, angry and discouraged. And there is NO joy in any of those things.

We can walk around, smiling and trying to fool people. But deep down, that will hurt us because that is not the joy that will give us the strength we need to get through anything.

The joy of the Lord is a tool to conquer whatever enemy we may be facing.

This Joy of the Lord comes when we are able to take what we are going through and lay it at the foot of the cross. We give it all to Jesus, trusting that He will find a way to bring us through as we continue to obey Him, and walk in the things He has for us.

This action on our part will cause us to truly be happy and light on the inside, because we know Who is holding onto us. We know Who is taking care of us. And we know His faithful! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-14-17

Romans 8:8-9 (NKJV) 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

Many people wonder how to please God. Sometimes we ask what it really takes. How do we live day-to-day lives that please Him?

Here’s our answer; walk in the Spirit, not in the flesh.

Galatians 5:16 (NKJV) 16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Our flesh will lead us down all kinds of crazy roads. And it can get us into some serious trouble. Not to mention that the choices we make in the flesh can have some drastic consequences.

But as we learn to live and walk by the Spirit, we will find ourselves making wiser choices and getting into less trouble. We will also find that our lives are more peaceful, since we will hear God more clearly and discern spiritual things more quickly and sharply.

Learning to walk by the Spirit and avoid walking by the flesh, despite what most of us would like, takes time to learn. It’s not necessarily complicated, but it does require deliberate effort on our part.

So, what’s the key to defeating the flesh and learning to walk by the Spirit?

Draw near to God. Yes. It’s that simple. As with most everything else, we get out what we put in. So, the more effort we make, the more fruit we will see in our lives.

As we spend time in His word we will get a greater understanding of who He is. This will help us learn how to live and walk by the Spirit.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. And as He draws near to you, watch your life be transformed one day at a time. And soon, you will no longer live and walk by the flesh, but by the Spirit.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-13-17

James 4:10 (NKJV) 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

When we truly submit to God, and what He wants to do, in us, for us and through us, we will feel His peace come over us. We will know, even though we don’t quite understand it, that we have finally given into Him and stopped fighting it.

I remember a time when we thought we needed to switch some things up and we were trying our best to do the right thing and make the right choices.

But, even though we thought we were heading in the right direction, something on the inside of us wasn’t completely sure. We didn’t have His peace. That’s an indicator that we still need to seek God for the complete plan and wait for Him to show us.

We continued on the road we were on because we didn’t know what else to do.

After some time went by, and we had made some plans, lined things up, signed paperwork related to certain changes, God gently reminded us that He had another way. And His way would work better at taking care of this particular situation.

We literally were ¾ of the way into this thing with all of the decisions we had made, but we humbly decided to pull out and agree with Him.

We are thankful we choose His way, because by doing so, He brought it around in such a way that we would never have been able to do with our own understanding.

Don’t be afraid to pull back, or pull out of the work we have begun, if we are not feeling God’s peace and certainty in it.

All it takes is submitting and saying “OK, God. We tried to do what we thought was the right thing, but it’s not feeling so much like the right thing right now. We really want it done Your way.” Then simply let Him see it through and follow His leading, taking only the steps He directs us to take.

He will direct our path if we will let Him.

Psalm 25:4 (NKJV) 4 Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-12-17

Luke 18:16 (NKJV) 16 But Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

Most times, we teach our children how to be responsible, but we neglect to teach them how to be accountable. Accountability to God is so important, even at such an early stage in life.

Let’s face it. Mom and Dad can’t be everywhere. But God can, and if we teach them to trust in Him and go to Him for everything, this will help them throughout their whole lives.

How do we teach our kids about this? We start by training them how to pray and to seek God for personal answers for their little concerns they may have.

They can learn at an early age how to pray for the right friends to be around. They can pray and ask God for help in making the right decisions throughout their day. Maybe they are struggling in certain areas when it comes to listening and doing what they are told. Or maybe they have an answer back for everything.

They need to know what God says about this in His word and to listen to how He says to correct it.

Kids are smart. They understand more than we realize. And sometimes they can fool us. Teaching them to be accountable, even at times when they may be trying to sneak one by us, will also cause them to have to deal with the conviction of their heavenly Daddy.

It’s amazing how quickly they learn. You think they aren’t paying attention. But then out of the clear blue sky they’ll repeat something you shared with them or said to them at one time or another.

So don’t get discouraged, Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and teachers. Keep it going! Teach them to have accountability with the One who will keep them safe from harm.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-11-17

Proverbs 29:25 (NKJV) 25 The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.

The fear of man can affect our lives greatly. It can prevent us from doing things we want to do. It can cause us to do things we shouldn’t do.

The fear of man can keep us from growing as a follower of Christ.

The fear of man can alter our lives drastically. And if we don’t defeat it once and for all, it can even alter our destiny.

If we were 100% honest, we could all say that the fear of man has affected us in one way or another in our lives. I know it has in my own life, especially up until the last few years.

But, as I went through different things, and I saw how my decisions were affected by the fear of what people might think, it caused me to want deliverance from this thing. It showed me that even though I loved God with all my heart, I was still not following His leading 100% of the time because of this fear that would pop up from time to time.

But once God showed me what this was, I decided I’d had enough of it. I now no longer worry about what others think.

Yes, I care about my reputation as a believer, because I am God’s ambassador. And I want my life to reflect Him in every way possible.

But I don’t worry about what people think of me any longer. Their opinions don’t bother me. Not at all.

Instead of fearing man, I now fear God.

Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV) 10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

It is not a fear that causes me to cower in a corner, afraid of what He might do to me. It is a reverent fear. And it stems from loving Him and gaining understanding of who He is and what He wants for my life.

So, if you fear what people think of you, stop. Stop worrying about their opinions, or what they might say about you.

Instead, fear God. Get understanding as to who He really is and stand in awe of Him.

Bible Verse of The Day – Faith vs. Presumption – 9-10-17

Greetings fellow believers!

We trust that God is blessing you in many ways.

We hear a lot about faith. But we rarely hear anything about presumption.

Presumption can be very harmful and dangerous because it disguises itself as faith. Presumption will present itself as faith, but it is far from it.

We have published a new video about Faith vs. Presumption. We’d really like you to watch it and let God show you the truth about presumption that parades itself as faith.

Click here to watch the video now.

Moving in presumption that we think is faith can put us into some seriously bad situations. It can cause us to make choices and take huge risks that God never intended for us to take.

Click here to watch the video now.

So, if you want to avoid making huge mistakes when it comes to taking steps of faith, be sure to check this video out right away.

Bible Verse of The Day – 9-9-17

Proverbs 18:21 (NKJV) 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

We want to encourage each one of you today and remind you that you are mighty in God! His strength moves in us and through us. Keep looking to Him for the answers in our own lives, and for His help with encouraging others with our words.

Words are powerful and can do many things to a person.

Don’t be afraid to speak out as God leads us in sharing the things He has brought us through. Those are our words of encouragement for others. They bring life, to help others get through their struggles, and to help them see that there is hope for the hopeless.

Our story may be the very thing that a person needs to hear at that moment. The things God helped us through could be the answer to their problems.

We can’t let our testimony get lost in the hustle and bustle all around us. But keep it fresh and dear to our hearts, protected and safe. And use it when God says to speak it. It is powerful! It is uplifting and encouraging to those who are ready to listen.

Our words should have purpose; to comfort, to help and to edify one another.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NKJV) 11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.
