Bible Verse of The Day – 4-19-17

Deuteronomy 28:3 (NKJV) 3 “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.

We are so blessed!

No matter how things that stand in front of us look right now, we can know that we are blessed and we will come through.

We don’t always know how it will turn out, and we may look at the mess and say, “I don’t know the first thing to do.” But just remember, we know the One that does!

We are so well cared for even in those moments of unknowing. God knows and has a plan. We are never alone.

John 14:16 (NKJV) 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever

Cling to our Helper, the Holy Spirit. He will guide us today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-18-17

James 4:7 (NKJV) 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Is someone you know having trouble doing the right thing, resisting sin and temptation?

How about you? Are you having trouble resisting the devil and living a righteous lifestyle?

Why is that? Why do some people just seem to have so much trouble turning away from evil and doing right?

It’s all about submission. It’s about who we submit ourselves to.

If we submit to God, our lives will reflect that, and we will live a life that’s a reflection of God’s nature.

This doesn’t mean that our lives will be perfect, or that we will never make mistakes or make bad choices. But the big picture will show people who know us that God is alive in us and moving in our lives.

If, however, our lives are submitted to the devil, they will reflect that. Attitudes will be poor. Actions will be ungodly. Fruit, if there is any, will be rotten. So it’s critical that we make sure we are submitted to God.

Submission requires humility. Humility can be tough for us sometimes, because it means that we have to admit that we are wrong and that we need help. Some people wrestle with this more than others. But we all need help in this area at one point or another.

So let’s determine in our hearts today to humble ourselves and submit ourselves to God, so we can resist the devil. And as we do this, he will flee from us.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-17-17

Romans 3:23-24 (NKJV) 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus…

We all want to please God. Or at least we should.

And sometimes, despite wanting to please Him, we make mistakes; bad choices.

Sometimes we do this on the spur of the moment. We don’t plan it ahead. It just happens.

Other times, we might make a choice knowing in advance that it’s not the right choice. We know that if we make this choice and follow through with it, God will be disappointed. But we go ahead and do it anyway.

And once we’ve done it, we feel terrible. Sometimes the regret sets in right away. Other times it might take a few hours, a few days, or even a few weeks. But we eventually feel remorseful about it and we repent before God.

But even if we repent, we can still be ridden with guilt over it. And sometimes we might even wonder if God will forgive us since we did this thing knowing in advance that it was wrong.

We want to reassure you that God offers His forgiveness for all of us, even when we knowingly do stupid stuff. It’s all part of His mercy and grace. No, He doesn’t like when we sin knowingly. But He still has compassion on us and forgives us if we sincerely repent and ask Him to forgive us.

Remember… That verse up at the top of the page says that “all” have sinned. So He doesn’t expect us to be perfect. He just wants us to have a sincere heart and grow in our love for Him, so that we will learn and understand what it takes to please Him.

And just as the father ran to the prodigal son, and welcomed him home, so God will also be waiting for us with open arms, ready to embrace us and forgive us.

Luke 15:20 (NKJV) 20 “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

Bible Verse of The Day – When God Leads (Part 2) – 4-16-17

We hope you’re having a blessed day, celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Last week we published a new video that discussed letting God lead us when we’re faced with tough choices and decisions. This week, we have published part 2 of that series.

Click here to watch the video now.

In this week’s continuation on this topic, we discuss 3 very important aspects of letting God lead. These 3 points are things we have learned over the years as we have walked through various trials and times of transitions.

Click here to watch the video now.

They are all very important and once we understand these 3 things, it will help us to avoid making very critical mistakes that could lead us down the wrong road. We hope you’ll give the video a watch and glean some insight and understanding from it.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-15-17

Mark 16:6 (NKJV) 6 But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.

I love this time of year when we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ! It’s a time when we can reflect on what the Father and Son did for each one of us personally. What a plan He had for us.

Who would ever want to celebrate the death of someone? This might sound morbid at first. But, If Jesus’ death did not happen, we would not have forgiveness for our sins. We would not have access to the Father, or a relationship with either One of them. We would not have the Holy Spirit to guide us each day. No Comforter or Lifter of our heads. And we would not have eternal life. We would all die and go to hell. Yes, that was the state we were in.

You see it’s through the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, that we can now go to God, ask for forgiveness and He will forgive us of all sin and save us. Jesus Christ’s death was a perfect sacrifice, because He was perfect in all ways. His non-sinful being was Holy. It covered every sin and sickness.

And just as His death paid for our sins and bought our salvation, His resurrection secured eternal life for us, giving us the incredible hope of life after death, to be resurrected ourselves, and to spend eternity with Him.

We can all have what God offers us through His Son. How? By believing (putting our faith) in Him, letting Him into our daily lives and then loving Him by obeying His words.

John 14:15 (NKJV) 15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

Jesus Christ is our answer from our Heavenly Father! He is our example of how God wants us to live our lives each day. He came to serve. He loved us more than we know, and He gave His life for each one of us. He is our Savior!

Let us rejoice today for He is Good! Amen.

John 3:16 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-14-17

Exodus 16:2 (NKJV) 2 Then the whole congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness.

Have you ever read about the Israelites and wondered how in the world they could grumble and complain, while God was feeding them and providing for their every need supernaturally?

Seriously. God was dropping manna from heaven while they slept. They had water when they needed it. They lacked absolutely nothing. Yet they found reasons to complain, despite seeing miracles literally every day.

There’s no way you and I would do that! Or would we?

Do we find ourselves grumbling about what we lack? Do we complain about what we have, even though God was the One who provided it for us?

I think if we look a bit more closely at ourselves, we will find that we are not all that different than the Israelites were back in the desert.

Maybe it’s time for us to do a self check and let God show us where we are complaining, when we should be rejoicing and giving thanks.

Philippians 2:14 (NKJV) 14 Do all things without complaining and disputing…

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-13-17

Ephesians 4:32 (NKJV) 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Wow! I had to read this over and over one day to actually let it penetrate. I was feeling pretty upset about some things that were taking place. As I read this scripture, each time it got louder and louder. I could feel myself getting calmer and calmer as I let it sink in.

You see, unless we let God’s word speak to us, or penetrate into our very being, it can’t help us.

For instance, has anyone ever been speaking to us, and we are  looking right at them and nodding our heads like we are hearing them, but we miss what they are saying? We have NO clue what they just said. If they ever asked us to repeat it back, we would be in trouble and have to ask them, “wait, could you say that again?”.

That’s not listening. That’s thinking of what we want to do or say next and totally not hearing that person, just nodding away.

We can do this at times when we read God’s word. Or when listening to a preacher, priest or any type of minister. We can be nodding our heads, saying yes and amen, while all the time having other thoughts or agendas running through our head.

To hear what God is saying we need to shut out everything, including our own thoughts.

As I heard this go through my head and let it penetrate my heart, it helped me greatly. It calmed me right down and helped me to move on. These words, “be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving”, spoke to me very clearly and changed my attitude quickly.

How many of us feel STUCK today? That’s an awful feeling when we know freedom. Compared to the feeling of being free, feeling stuck sticks out like a sore thumb.

To change this stuck feeling, we must let God’s word penetrate. Maybe for you it’s not this verse. It may be something totally different. But listen, let it penetrate and help you at this time.

Psalm 46:1 (NKJV) 46 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-12-17

John 8:36 (NKJV) 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

Salvation, healing and restoration take place on the inside of us when Jesus comes into our lives, when we believe God’s word to be true.

People say “well I don’t see or feel any change. Sometimes I still do the same old things I did before I was a Believer, a Christian or child of God”.

When we believe God’s Word, and all that He says about His Son, Jesus Christ, and we repent and put our faith in Him as our Savior, things begin to change on the inside of us. Whether we feel or see the change or not, we are being changed.

Some things are going to take us longer than other things. However, it has begun!

The most important thing to remember is that we will change depending on what we surrender to Him and depending on what we allow Him to work on in us.

If there are things that we feel we are still in bondage to, we need to ask God why. Maybe we are holding on to a small, but yet significant piece of something.

As we let go of those things and surrender them to Him, we will see change taking place in us, a little at a time.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-11-17

Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV) 10 Then he said to them, “Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

We can lose our joy from seeing things go wrong, or if we’re seeing things happening that we can’t fix. Sorrow can also cause us to lose our joy.

Losing our joy will weaken us.

So, in order to keep it, we have to learn to take those things that are out of our hands, that we are concerned about or are weighing heavy on us, and trust God with it all.

That’s right. We have to learn that trusting Him will keep our JOY in the Lord “strong”.

Sometimes we are hit with some pretty hard and devastating things. Last year my dad, at 81 years of age, all of a sudden was having an emergency operation on his heart.

At first, they planned on putting a stent in one of his arteries to his heart. Then, as they attempted to do this procedure, they found more problems and couldn’t do the stent.

He then had to have a triple bypass. Immediately prior to the bypass surgery, they had planned on repairing his carotid artery, which was 99% clogged.

While on the operating table, his heart actually stopped beating and they had to revive him. But, by the hand of God, he came through all of that.

Shortly after all that, he was diagnosed with cancer.

It was one thing after another. My mind and body could not take it. It hit hard and fast. Bad news after bad news, surgery after surgery will do that to us.

Not only was I feeling it, but my Mom was needing me as well. All I could do was completely lean on God. I stopped thinking “what if” or “what can I do” and I literally dropped in God’s arms. I just had to take my mind off it all and take it one day at a time. That was all I could handle.

Thank God He was there to catch me. And He will catch you too!

In the midst of the storm, He carried me. And His joy was with me and we all made it through, including my Dad. Praise be to God!

If you’re battling a storm right now, and it’s hit after hit, my words to you are to just “drop” in God’s arms and let Him catch you. Stop thinking about it. Stop talking about it and let His joy grip your heart and bring you through it.

Then and only then will we be able to endure the storm and come through it with victory.

Our prayers are with you. God is good!

Let His joy strengthen you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-10-17

John 6:41-42 (NKJV) 41 The Jews then complained about Him, because He said, “I am the bread which came down from heaven.” 42 And they said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”

Jesus was disrespected by people who knew his earthly father. They thought that because they knew his earthly origins He couldn’t possibly be who He said He was.

Do we ever experience this in our own lives? Do we feel like maybe we’re disrespected by people who know us just because they are familiar with us?

Sometimes friends and family can be our toughest critics. And sometimes they’re downright impossible when it comes to ministering to them or getting them to believe what God has shown us or done in our lives.

Familiarity is something that can be hard to overcome, especially in these types of situations. For some reason, just because people know us personally, they just won’t hear anything we say.

But that’s OK. It didn’t stop Jesus from carrying out His earthly work. And it shouldn’t stop us either!

The best thing we can do is put our efforts into those who will listen, and just continue to love those who won’t listen, even if it means loving them from a distance. And leave it to God to touch their hearts.

Don’t let it get you down. And, in the words of Jesus;

Matthew 10:14 (NKJV) 14 And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.
