Bible Verse of The Day – 4-19-16

Psalm 27:14 (NKJV) 14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

I was looking out my window this morning. I looked past the bare, naked trees, only to feast my eyes on the beautiful blue sky.  My heart was thankful for the pretty, sunny day we were having.

As I looked down again, and saw the nakedness of the trees, it almost changed my mood, causing me to think negatively.

But God showed me at that moment, that even though the trees look dead on the outside, what is really going on inside. They are fully alive, they are living and growing. They are being prepared to produce! They will soon be putting forth blossoms and beautiful leaves, making an even prettier picture.

You see, we sometimes forget that there is preparation time for a lot of things, before we get to see the actual beauty of it. Just because things may not look beautiful on the outside, it doesn’t mean that in their season or time they will not produce much beauty.

Be patient and wait. Don’t let the outward appearance of a situation cause us to start feeling negative and overlooking all the good that is taking place.

Be blessed. We love you all and our prayers are with you today!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-18-16

Matthew 5:46 (NKJV) 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?

Loving people can be a challenge. Some people are very hard to love. Some even seem like they don’t want anyone to love them because of things they say and things that they do.

It’s easy to love those who love us back. It takes little or no effort to do this. But Jesus said that loving only the people who love us back isn’t really much of an accomplishment.

Loving the unlovable is a challenge. It’s hard to do consistently. But, it’s something that God wants each and every one of us to learn how to do.

Remember what else Jesus said?

Mark 2:17 (NKJV) 17 When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

It’s the sick who need a doctor. On the same principle, it’s the unlovable who need the love of God to be displayed to them.

Love is an amazing thing. It can break down barriers that logic and intellect can’t even begin to touch.

Why? Because love touches people in a way that logic can never even begin to do. It melts the hearts that have become hard. It softens people in ways that no other words or works can soften them.

Jesus came and walked among men and women to teach us one thing. Love.

He showed us God’s love in everything He did. And He demonstrated His love by laying His life down for you and for me.

Now that is love like no other.

John 15:13 (NKJV) 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

Who will we love?

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-16-16

Matthew 16:26 (NKJV) 26 For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

We can pursue so many different things in our lifetime.

We can pursue a better career, a bigger house, a faster car, a bucket list of accomplishments, a long list of places we’ve traveled to, and so much more. The list could really be endless.

None of these things are wrong, in and of themselves. They can be good.

But not a single one of them will profit us if we pursue them in lieu of securing our eternity in heaven.

God wants our hearts. Yours, and mine. And He doesn’t just want a piece of them, He wants the whole thing!

He wants us to pursue Him with a passion that consumes us. He wants us to pursue Him with a zeal that many only show for their hobbies, their careers or their personal wants and desires.

But God wants to take the place of those things, so that He becomes our burning passion.

Are we chasing God first and foremost? Are we putting all of our effort into building our relationship with Him? And do we long for Him with a burning in our hearts?

We should be! Each and every one of us. It’s what we were created for. And none of us will ever feel fulfilled until we reach that place.

And, in the words of Jesus, what will it profit us if we gain the whole world and lose our souls?

Let’s put God first, church! First, ahead of every other thing in life that tries to vie for our time and attention.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-15-16

Matthew 9:12 (NKJV) 12 When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.

Following the example of Jesus, we too need to help those that need Him.

We need to help those that are spiritually dead. They are without Christ, empty, lost and without help. They are trying to make it, trying to succeed, and trying hard to pull it together on their own.

It’s important that we allow God to help us know how to reach those that are ready and willing. That we may move in such a way that it is life-changing and it touches them in the deepest part of their heart.

How does one reach that deep part of the heart of man? Through the help and guidance of God Himself. Just as He anointed His Son, Jesus, it’s important that we too have help.

Luke 4:18 (NKJV) 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor;

Jesus did the things He did through the power and the anointing of God’s Spirit. God’s anointing moved on Jesus and miracles happened, along with healing, deliverances, etc.

God sent us a Helper so that we too can be led according to His will, His timing, His accuracy, and with His strength. Our Helper is the Holy Spirit.

The church is not going to see miracles, deliverance, healing, or breakthroughs, etc. if we don’t have the Holy Spirit helping us.

Bride of Christ, children of the most High, we encourage you today, if you have not asked The Holy Spirit to come and fill you and be your Helper, today is your day.

Jesus was anointed to do the things He did. The disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:1-4) and we need this Helper in our lives if we want to see a difference in ourselves and in those that we reach out to. Amen.

John 14:26 (NKJV) 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-14-16

Luke 9:23-24 (NKJV) 23 Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. 24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.

Follow me. Those are pretty serious words when they come from the mouth of the Messiah!

Just as Jesus told his disciples to follow Him, He also calls us to follow Him.

He may not be walking here on earth with us physically, as He was with the disciples, but He walks with us in the spirit. And it’s up to us to choose whether to follow Him or not.

It’s a choice we have to make, day by day, minute by minute.

It would seem really nice if we could just make that choice once and the rest of life would be a piece of cake, so to speak.

But then there would be no faith involved. There would be no more choice involved. And our walk with God would be dull, lifeless and meaningless.

So it’s up to us to choose. It’s up to us to make a conscious decision every minute of every day, to follow the Savior.

It’s up to us to choose to put our faith and trust in Him. It’s up to us to choose to follow His ways and walk in His footsteps.

And it’s up to us to keep our feet on the path He has set before us.

Proverbs 4:26 (NKJV) 26 Ponder the path of your feet, And let all your ways be established.

What will we choose?

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-13-16

Psalm 30:5 (NKJV) 5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

How easy is it for us to lose our JOY? We could be having a great day and then something gets said, or we get something in the mail, etc., and all of a sudden we lost the joy we had just a few minutes before.

Getting sad, angry and upset at times is normal behavior. It’s all part of our emotions. It’s all part of life. Things can come in and change our attitude quickly and sometimes it doesn’t take much.

What we must remember is that we don’t let it keep us there. We cannot spend all of our days being angry, crying and depressed. We have to make room for JOY.

How do we make room for joy when we feel like this?

We take whatever it may be that is causing us to lose our joy and we bring it right to Jesus. We tell Him how we feel. That’s right! Let it out, talk to Him and be detailed.

Don’t try to leave things out. Tell Him everything that needs to come out.

After we tell Him, we will feel better. But we are not finished. Let God show us what we need to do after we spill it all.

Sometimes there is silence on God’s end. That doesn’t mean something is wrong. It’s OK. Just trust Him.

Sometimes we may get understanding right away and we know what we need to do. Other times we just have to wait and see what comes our way; what doors open, so to speak.

But if we are listening, watching and ready, we usually won’t miss it. Begin to thank Him and move on. Go back to enjoying your day.

When joy is taken from us, many people stop living. God does not want that. He wants JOY back in our lives.

There is more to life than just the little bit we are used to. So if things change, don’t stop living. Just live differently. Experience the NEW things that are coming our way.

Today, let’s pick ourselves up and let JOY come back. It’s OK to laugh again, to have fun and to sing our hearts out!

As long as we are alive, we need to keep on LIVING!!

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-12-16

Proverbs 3:9-10 (NKJV) 9 Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; 10 So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.

So many people today struggle with their finances. They never seem to have enough, always just making ends meet. And this is a hard thing to swallow.

The first question we have to ask ourselves is, “are we honoring The Lord with our possessions, are we giving to Him our firstfruits or are we believing that it’s ok to just take whatever God blesses us with and just spend it on our own needs first?”.

It’s easy to take our finances and put it in our bank account and pay our bills and tell ourselves that if there is any left over we will give it to God.

It happens all the time. That’s why people are broke, because it happens so often and there is never any left over. Why? Because me, myself and I can always find something else to spend it on.

Why does God want our firstfruits and not our in between or last fruits?

As we give to God first it shows Him that we are putting Him before ourselves, our needs and our wants. This means a lot to Him. This shows Him where our heart is.

When we put God first with our finances, He pays attention. Our giving does not go unnoticed. He knows if it is painful, or if it is easy. He sees if we are doing it out of the right heart, etc.

Luke 21:4 (NKJV) 4 for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.”

Now, just because we don’t give God our firstfruits doesn’t mean He love us any less or He won’t help us from time to time. God is good and He helps His children. He is a forgiving God and full of mercy.

But, can we cause our own problems at times by not obeying this?

Malachi 3: 10-11 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts,“If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it. 11 “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the Lord of hosts;

According to Malachi, we could possibly be tying God’s hands from a protection and a blessing that He would love to give us as we obey Him with our tithes and offerings.

Give to God what He is asking for and be blessed!! Amen.

Malachi 3:12 “And all nations will call you blessed, For you will be a delightful land,” Says the Lord of hosts.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-11-16

Romans 5:6-8 (NKJV) 6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

This says it all…while we were still sinners, He died for us.

He didn’t look at us and say, “boy, I wish they were perfect. That would make it worth it all.” He didn’t say, “they need to love me first before I show my love for them.” No.

He simply loved us in the state that we were in and suffered for us unto death, not just for the ones doing good, but for all mankind.

What kind of love did He demonstrate? An unconditional LOVE, the greatest love of ALL!

John 3:16 (NKJV) 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Receive His love today and live life with Him, beside us, in us and through us! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 4-9-16

Hebrews 11 (NKJV) 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Faith is the substance of things HOPED for. Are you hoping for something today? I think maybe we all are hoping for something, whether for ourselves, someone we love, or someone we know that is in trouble or in need.

But hoping is not enough. We need faith.

If we have faith, it doesn’t have to be “huge” faith. It can be very small faith, but it has to be there. And may I add, every situation is different.

For instance, sometimes we look at a situation and our faith is strong. Sometimes we look at a situation and our faith is just barely there. But at least it’s there!!

Hoping won’t do us much good without FAITH. Faith is the substance of the things we hope for!

When my dad was sick in the hospital, when he first went in, my faith was strong. As different situations arose with his health, and the attempts they needed to make to fix him up got more and more painful for him, it started to show me my faith was weakening. Why was this?

It was my ears. They were causing my faith to change because of the things I was hearing.

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) 17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

If we want to have faith we have to be listening to the right words. God’s word will speak FAITH right into our little bitty hearts during the toughest or most tragic times.

I needed to get my eyes and ears off my natural father and the doctors report and get tuned in to what my Heavenly Father was saying.

And how many know that when you are in a hard trial, sometimes you hear NADA. That is, “NOT a WORD.” But as long as you keep looking to God, those silent moments show us our faith.

So I have learned we don’t need “big” faith. We just have to have “some” faith that God can work with.

Stay open and listen to what He is saying to our hearts.

What are we hoping for today? Do we have faith that God can do it?

Matthew 17:20 (NKJV) 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
