Bible Verse of The Day – 12-31-15

James 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Prayer is the tool that God has given to each one of His children to help us in our situations; to help bring people out of trials, to help people get healed, to help people find Him. It’s through prayer that God will reach down from His throne and help us.

We can invest our time in all sorts of things; work, kids, family, church, etc., but the most important investment we can make is in time spent at the feet of Jesus Christ.

Through Salvation He has made a way for us to come and pray to the Father. There, laying down our concerns and our troubles, we can cry out for others and to get God’s answers.

It takes one person with a strong desire, to unite with God and see His change for whatever situation we find ourselves in.

Praying is up to us to do. It’s up to us to take hold of and invest our time in prayer. It’s more powerful than we could ever know. But if we don’t see it in this light, if we don’t see the importance and the power that it carries through Christ Jesus, we will just leave situations and circumstances on the table and watch them fall into the hands of the enemy.

We have a powerful tool that sits within us. What good will it do if we just leave it dormant?

Mark 1:8 (NKJV) 8 I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

He has given us a way to be accurate in our prayers. Understanding and knowledge lives within us, through His spirit. He gave us what it takes to go to battle, by the power of the Holy Spirit. We need to ask the Lord to baptize us in the Holy Spirit and to lead us in our prayers.

If you are the only man or woman in your country that prays, you can begin to turn that place around. If you are the only man or woman on your job that prays, you can turn that place around. If you are the only man or woman in your home that prays, you can turn that home around. And if you are the only man or woman in your church that prays, say it with us, I can turn that place around!

As we let the Holy Spirit guide us in our prayers, we will make a difference right where we are at today!! Invest our time each day in prayer God will turn things around.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-30-15

Luke 6:38 (NKJV) 38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

We had someone write in to us one day, asking us to pray that their financial situation would change, so that they would be able to give.

On another occasion, we had a person tell us that what they really wanted from God was to be able to give abundantly.

In our own lives, understanding the power that lies within giving was one of the major things that helped us to come out of a huge financial situation many years ago.

After listening to a teaching on giving one day, we realized we were in the mess we were in, not because of anyone else’s fault, but our own. We needed to obey God and His word, even in our giving.

If we don’t obey God’s word we cannot expect to receive His promises. So, that day we made a commitment to give to God, first and foremost, from that day forward.

We didn’t know how we were going to pay everything else. We just took a huge step of faith and gave to God first, every time our check came in. Things got paid and it worked! We saw His promise happen right before our eyes!

For others, it may be different. The way we did it may not be the way you should do it. The best thing to do is acknowledge where you are at and go from there.

Pray and ask God where and how you should start. He will guide your steps.

We want this coming year to be a wonderful year for you; the beginning of change in your financial situation. As we hold on to God’s promise, we must begin somewhere. Pray and ask God to bless you so that you may be able to give.

When He gives to you, or should we say when He opens the door for it to come in, don’t spend it on other things. Because that does happen a lot.

Take it, put it in a safe place and give it to where and whom He guides you to.

We are not saying that trials won’t come against you and that everything will always be smooth sailing. But we are saying that when they do come, you will have protection.

Malachi 3:11 (NKJV) “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, So that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” Says the Lord of hosts;

There is NO doubt that it changes our situation as we obey God in our giving. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-29-15

Matthew 6:34 (NKJV) 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Worrying is something we all struggle with at one or time or another.

Human nature likes to be able to see everything that’s ahead.

But God wants us to learn to live by faith in Him, not by faith in what we can see in front of us.

Learning to really live by faith is a tough transition for us, after being used to living by sight. But that’s God’s ultimate goal for us, to live and walk by faith in Him.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.

If we’re constantly worrying, it means that we’re doubting Him, His word and His provision. That might sound harsh, but it’s the reality of it. When we look truthfully at worry, it is an outward manifestation of inward doubt.

Worry causes stress. Worry can cause us to lose faith and say things that we would not otherwise say. And worst of all, most of the things we worry about never actually happen.

So, as hard as it might seem, we need to let God build our faith in Him. We need to let Him strengthen our faith and help it grow, so we can learn to walk, trusting Him in everything we do.

So it’s time for us to stop doubting. And it’s time to let God take us by the hand and lead us, even through those places where we can’t see in front of us.

Matthew 14:31 (NKJV) 31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-28-15

Luke 12:13-14 (NKJV) 13 Then one from the crowd said to Him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” 14 But He said to him, “Man, who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?”

How many times a day do we get dragged into people’s quarrels, arguments, or discussions, that have nothing to do with us?

Jesus tells this man right out, “who made Me a judge or an arbitrator over you?” In other words, He’s not getting in the middle of this because it doesn’t concern Him.

Just as Jesus didn’t let this man drag Him in, we should not let people drag us into conversations or situations we don’t need to be involved in.

We need to keep moving forward in the things we need to be focused on. Things like this can bring distraction and a lot of emotional involvement that is unnecessary.

Just because we are Christians doesn’t mean we are judges or arbitrators over anyone.

Keep moving on, pass by those things that are a distraction and focus on those things that God wants us to be doing.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-26-15

Ecclesiastes 1:14 (NKJV) 14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping for the wind.

In the early hours of the morning of Wednesday, December 23, I had a very vivid dream.

In the dream, I was made aware that there would be a loss of life very soon. I hugged the one who was going to be dying. And I wept very strongly as I held them. There was someone with me in the dream who I have known for many years. As I wept, the passion with which I cried also overtook him and he began to weep.

And as the tears ran down his face, he said “boy, I’m not used to this”. It was as if he was experiencing God-driven emotion and passion for the first time.

The dream was so vivid and so real that the power of my weeping woke me up.

As I lay there contemplating it, my eyes were wet with tears. And as I shared the dream with Pastor Ellie in the wee hours of the morning, the power of the dream was still overwhelming, and I had to fight back tears many times as I told her about it.

And even now, as I write this, I can feel the strength of the dream still strong in my spirit.

I asked God to reveal to me why this was so strong… so powerful, when the one who was dying wasn’t anyone in my family or close to me.

And He showed us both that we need to have a zeal for life that is strong and that life not be taken for granted. We need to live each day to the fullest, making the most of every minute and loving those around us with His love and compassion.

Our lives are brief in the scope of eternity and what we do here must leave an everlasting footprint, an impression that will be felt for many years to come.

We can all easily get caught up in the chase. The chase for riches. The chase for popularity. The chase for fame. The chase for material things. And in the end, it’s all just stuff. Stuff that won’t make a single bit of difference when we’ve taken our last breath and have left this earth behind.

In the end, it’s all vanity and grasping for the wind.

And so we want to pass this along to all of you. Live life with a holy passion. Don’t take one breath for granted.

Proverbs 27:1 (NKJV) 27 Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth.

Live with God’s compassion and love with God’s love.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-25-15

Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV) 6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

We would like to take this moment in time to pray for God’s blessings over your life.

May your Christmas day be blessed with joy, laughter and the peace of God.

May His spirit be your light and His light in you shine onto those around you, in the name of Jesus.

Let today not be about the things you get or the things you give, but about the One who gave His all for us, on the cross. Jesus.

We love you all and speak God’s blessings over you, today and every day.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-24-15

John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Jesus came and died to set us free.

He died to set us free from sin, but He also died to set us free from so much more. He wants us to be free from shame and guilt. He wants us to be free from condemnation and anxiety.

He wants us to be free from addictions and oppression. And He wants us to be free from bondage of all kinds.

Way too many of us limp through life, wondering what our purpose is or why we’re in the situation we’re in. And many times we tend to pull back from God because we don’t see things changing in our lives.

But this isn’t what God wants for us. He wants us to live lives of victory!

Victory doesn’t necessarily mean that we won’t have troubles, but it means that we have strength, in Christ, to push through those trials and not let them beat us down while we work through them.

The key to this is to draw near to God and let Him help us through them, so we don’t end up frazzled and worn out from the stress of worrying.

Matthew 6:34 (NKJV) 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

So as life pushes on you and tries to bury you in worries, push back and speak the words of Jesus to the enemy and claim them over your life.

Victory is ours. We just need to reach out and claim it, in the name of Jesus.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-23-15

Psalm 32:1 (NKJV) 32 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.

Sin is something we will wrestle with throughout our life. None of us is exempt. None of us is perfect.

Some days it’s easy to turn away from temptation. Other days, for whatever reason, it can be harder. Maybe we’re tired, maybe we’re depressed, maybe we are hurting or mad, etc. We give in to the tempter and do exactly what we prayed we wouldn’t do.

This happens to us all at one time or another. The good news is that when we do fall, we have someone that loves us and understands about temptation and our weakness. He understands we are not perfect and He has provided a way for us to be forgiven many times, no matter what it is.

Luke 7:47 (NKJV) 47 Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.”

This woman had many sins, but they were forgiven.

Jesus Christ covered all sin when He died for us on the cross. But that does not mean when we become Christians, His children, we are sinless. It means that when we sin, we need to acknowledge it, go to Him and repent, asking Him to forgive us. It does not mean we have no sin.

We don’t have to live with guilt or shame for the rest of our life. Jesus covered our sin and forgives us as we ask Him to.

We are truly blessed!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-22-15

Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV) 17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,”Says the Lord.

Those who serve the Lord, this is ours to hold onto. This is ours to remember when things come against us and try to knock us back or take us out. This is ours to remember when people say things against us or try to make us look bad.

We don’t have to say anything at times. Just know that God is on our side, and stand firm trusting Him. He will deliver us.

It may not always happen as quickly as we would like it to. But it will come, and things will be done according to the way He wants it to be done, no matter what others may say.

Hold on tightly to His word and stand our ground. God is faithful!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-21-15

Hebrews 4:13 (NKJV) 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Every day we choose whether to give in to temptation or not.

Sometimes the choice we make is one that everybody will see.

Other times, there are choices we make that nobody else ever knows anything about; Secret choices.

Secret sin is the most dangerous sin. Because no one sees it, we seem to have no accountability. We don’t have to answer to anyone about it. Or so it seems.

God is invisible to our natural eyes. We don’t see Him. And this can sometimes make it seem easy to do something that we know we shouldn’t do and get away with it. But in reality, God sees everything we do and knows our very thoughts.

Jeremiah 17:10 (NKJV) 10 I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings.

So when we do make poor choices and walk into sin, God knows it, even if we do it hidden from the view of everyone else.

So, those paperclips we took home from work? He sees them. The grapes we ate while walking through the store, before paying for them? He saw that. The times we lusted after another person? God knows all about it. And the things we look at on the internet when nobody else is around? Uh huh, He sees that too.

But it’s never too late to make things right!

We need to confess these things to Him and come clean. We need to tell Him if we’re struggling with something. We need to ask for help and get free of these habits, before they eventually destroy us.

Proverbs 28:13 (NKJV) 13 He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

Getting before God and laying it all down might not seem enjoyable. But once we do it, we will feel free and light! The burden and weight of the guilt will be gone and we can work on letting God clean us up and fixing the stuff that caused us to stumble in the first place.

Don’t wait. Get before Him and do this today. The longer we wait, the worse the sin will get.

Go ahead. He’s waiting.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-19-15

Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Jesus told us in pretty clear words how to please God and be successful in every area of our lives.

Want a strong, happy marriage? Seek God first.

Want a career that’s satisfying and rewarding? Seek God first.

Want a strong family that’s close knit? Seek God first.

Want to have strong faith? Seek God first!

Want a strong walk with God, where you learn how to hear Him more easily, discern things more readily and have a deeper understanding of His word? Seek Him first.

This may seem overly simple, but it’s absolute truth.

Our primary objective as a follower of Christ should be to walk as closely as possible with God and follow the footsteps of Jesus as closely as possible.

When we do this, it makes our lives much easier and makes our relationship with God so much stronger.

We need to put God first in everything we do and every decision we make.

Maybe you’re thinking that you’ve never really put God first, and now you have a big mess on your hands due to poor choices you’ve made. But that’s OK. It’s never too late to get it right!

Starting today, make a conscious effort to put God first. It might not come easily at first, but as you do this more and more, it will get easier and easier. And soon it will become second nature.

Seek first the kingdom of God.
