Bible Verse of The Day – 2-28-15

Psalm 27:14 (NKJV) 14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

We are going to be disappointed at times in life. We are going to feel angry, and we are going to have moments when we really want things to go our way, but yet it looks like they are going in a totally different direction.

We have all experienced those times when things don’t go the way we expected or the way they we planned.

The best way to handle it is to stay calm. We can’t react out of our emotions and what we see. Let God unfold it all the way.

Sometimes we are just seeing bits and pieces; we are not seeing the whole picture and we don’t know the whole plan.

Be patient and wait on God. Trust Him to work it out. It will be beautiful!! Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-27-15

1 Corinthians 9:27 (NKJV) 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Discipline.

It’s a word that few people really like to hear. But it’s a critical part of our lives if we want to move beyond being mediocre in anything at all.

It takes discipline to learn a new trade or new job. It takes discipline to lose weight or build muscle. It takes discipline to learn to play a new instrument. It takes discipline to get a college degree or a certification of any kind.

Anything that we endeavor to do that we’ve never done before takes discipline if we want to accomplish it and excel at it.

Discipline is even more important when it comes to our spiritual well-being. Everything about our spirit is eternal. Our body will eventually get old and die, but our spirit lives forever, so what we do while we’re here on earth is very important.

And it takes discipline to move beyond mediocrity and become who God wants us to be. This isn’t legalistic nonsense, as some might think. It’s simple Biblical truth that Paul thought was important enough to share, saying that he was careful to be disciplined in his own life so that he would not be disqualified for the prize.

If it was important for Paul, it needs to be important to us!

Being disciplined isn’t always easy. It takes work and effort on our part. But God is faithful to lead us and give us what we need to accomplish what He sets before us.

Are we ready?

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-26-15

John 12:32 (NKJV) 32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.”

How can we get people to come to Jesus?

When we lift Him up. When we glorify Him, praise Him, share about Him, His goodness, and His truth with others.

He will draw all people to Himself as we lift Him up.

Sharing about the things He has done in our lives works in a mighty way! It leads the lost to their Savior. It restores those who are hurting, and brings healing to the sick.

Open up our mouths today and share the good news. Don’t be afraid what people may think or say about us; it’s time to open up and share!

It’s time for all of us, no matter what denomination we are from, to come together, put all our differences aside and lift up the One that we all agree on to be the Son of the Almighty God, Jesus Christ.

Together we can watch as He draws all people to Himself, as we become one in Him with one purpose; to see the lost Saved!! Amen

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-25-15

Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV) 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

If we are children of God, we have a place to go to get answers, to get help, to get direction, and to get strengthened. We don’t need to walk around feeling like we are lost, not knowing what is going on in our situation, on our job, in our home, with our ministry or with our children.

The more we run to God, the closer we get to Him, the easier it is to go through life. It doesn’t mean we won’t have struggles or times of trials.

When we press in and seek Him, we get answers. It may take some effort on our part, and it may take some time, but we will get the help we need and it will bring change to our problem or our situation.

The question is, do we want change or do we want to just put a band-aid on it? Do we really want to get to the root of it? This is what we have to decide in our own hearts.

If we are ready for change, then come boldly to the throne! That means without hesitation and without doubt. But with a knowing that He is Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient and He is faithful!! Amen.

Psalm 46:1 (NKJV) 46 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-24-15

Deuteronomy 6:5 (NKJV) 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

I was talking with God last night. In fact, He was doing more of the talking and I was listening. But I did have questions for Him, and He provided me with answers. So I’d like to share some of that with you today.

As He spoke to my spirit (not an audible voice), He shared with me that everything about our lives comes back around to one simple principle; One simple truth. And that truth is stated in the scripture above.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart.

Everything we do in our lives is based on our love (or lack of love) for Him.

He shared with me that the sin in this world takes place because of a lack of love for Him or a weak love for Him.

Murder, terrorism, adultery, drunkenness, strife, envy, jealousy and many more such sins happen because of either a lack of love for Him, or a love that’s watered down or weak.

Our hearts dictate the direction of our lives. So if our hearts aren’t sold out to God, it will be reflected in our lives and the choices that we make.

Hearts that long after God and want to please Him in everything will make sound choices more often than those hearts that are lukewarm for God. Hearts that aren’t sold out to Him will, likewise, make choices and decisions that don’t always reflect God or put God first.

As He shared this with me, He also told me that this isn’t something that’s being shared to condemn people, but to give people a better understanding. A lack of understanding can bring destruction. But having understanding can open our eyes to things we would not otherwise be able to see.

Hosea 4:6 (NKJV) 6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…

So, people of God, let’s sincerely check our hearts and let God show us where we’re really at. Do we love Him with our whole heart? Or do we only give Him a small piece of it, hoping to keep some for ourselves?

Love Him with all your heart today.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-23-15

Psalm 51:2 (NKJV) 2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.

Each day, we start off with a new, clean slate. If we slip and fall, how do we get back up? We ask God to forgive us, to cleanse us and help us to not do it again.

Sometimes we don’t want to acknowledge that we’ve done something wrong, so we’ll try to sugar-coat it or blame someone else for it. Or, we will realize what we did and start getting down and beating ourselves up over it, when what we really need to do is acknowledge that we did wrong and sincerely want to fix it.

God is faithful to instruct us and keep us on the right path.

Proverbs 10:17 (NKJV) 17 He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, but he who refuses correction goes astray.

Have a good day, and remember God loves us. He is not mean. He wants to be with us no matter how many times we mess up or fail. He will stick by us and help us learn and grow.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-21-15

1 John 2:23 (NKJV) 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

Have you ever wondered how to tell if a denomination or a religion other than Christianity is truly of God?

The scripture above contains the answer to any questions you might have.

The ultimate test is to check whether they believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and whether He came to earth as God in the flesh.

Many will say He was a prophet. Some will say He was a creation of God, but not God in the flesh, nor equal to God.

Some will say that they believe Jesus existed, but He was just another historic figure. And the list of these examples can go on and on.

But if they can’t tell you that Jesus was Immanuel, God with us, then they are deceiving themselves and everyone else that they try to teach their doctrine to.

So the next time someone hands you a pamphlet about their church or tries to tell you how their organization has a corner on the truth, just ask them who they believe Jesus Christ was.

If they can’t outright say that Jesus was God in the flesh and that He lived a sinless life and now sits at the right hand of the Father, then they are false teachers, spreading heresy. Turn and walk away from them. Don’t so much as entertain their teachings in your thoughts for one second.

John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-20-15

Matthew 14:29 (NKJV) 29 So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.

Peter obeyed Jesus. When Jesus said Come, Peter came.

Are we ready for when Jesus asks us to come? Are we willing to take the steps we need to take when He calls us out of our boat?

Jesus called Peter out of the boat and onto the water. But maybe Jesus is speaking to our heart today and calling us to a totally different surrounding. Whether a new place to live, or a new job, or it could even be a whole new position in ministry, etc.; somewhere or something we’ve never done before.

Peter had never walked on water before and I’m sure it was quite the experience.

I can just imagine if that was me and Jesus said to come, I’d be like “REALLY? Here? Now? Do I get some special water shoes or something?”

But seriously, we just never know when Jesus is going to call us out of the boat that we are in, and we need to be close to Him and be ready to obey.

If we are close to Him, we will not worry, and no one will change our minds. We will just step out and let God unfold it as we go, and show us His Miraculous Power from above.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-19-15

Psalm 103:11-12 (NKJV) 11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; 12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.

We all have sins in our life. We have done things in our past that we’re not proud of. Some things might have been pretty bad and they may even be things that we’ve never told anyone else about.

Sometimes those things can try to come back and haunt us, reminding us of who we used to be, before Jesus made us new. Guilt can try to creep in and cause us to hang our heads in shame.

And, of course, the enemy will also get in our ears and try to sling mud at us, telling us how worthless and dirty we are.

But we’re here today to tell you that if you have been washed in the blood of Jesus, none of that matters. The sins you carried before you came to the cross have been washed away, as far away as the east is from the west!

Stop hanging your head, because if you have repented and put your faith in Jesus Christ, He has made you brand new. You are no longer that old person.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

And if you’re feeling guilty about your past, it’s time to finally let it go because there is no guilt and no condemnation for followers of Christ. Once you became a child of God, your past was wiped out and you were given a brand new, clean sheet of paper to start your life over again. No more guilt.

Romans 8:1 (NKJV) 8 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

So lift your head today and look up to the cross of Jesus. Take heed to what He is saying, that you are new and guilt-free, and step forward into your future, leaving your past behind, once and for all.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-18-15

Matthew 26:41 (NKJV) 41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Watching and Praying is the key to having VICTORY over temptation. Our flesh is weak at times and it will give in to temptation.

It doesn’t matter who we are, whether we are a Christian, a Pastor, a Father, Mother, spouse etc., we are all tempted at one time or another.

How many times have we heard ourselves say  “I’ll never do that again” and then find ourselves falling right back into it at a later point in time? That’s because temptation overtook us and we entered in with our own flesh. We can’t blame it on anyone else but ourselves.

This is why we need to watch and pray. Be alert, because the devil knows what tempts us and he tries to use it against us whenever he can. We need to be ready! Ready means to be prayed up, close to God and watching.

James 5:15 (NKJV) 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Watch, pray and have faith; Don’t pray with fear or doubt that God will help us get past it. Pray with a knowing, that God Himself will heal us and free us from the sickness, the addiction, or the desire.

If any of us is struggling with temptation today, in any particular area, pray to God with faith and ask Him to give us the wisdom and strength to turn from it and to never enter into it again. And that He will help our flesh be ready for when temptation comes, we will say NO! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 2-17-15

Job 38:4 (NKJV) 4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.

Some people like to question God and His reasons for doing the things He does. Some like to question Him about the things he doesn’t do.

We’ve all heard the questions, often times spoken with sarcasm; if God is so loving, why are there starving people in the world? If God loves you so much, why does He allow you to go through such hard trials? And the list of these types of questions could go on and on.

Sometimes these questions even come from the mouths of believers… people who claim to be followers of Christ.

Most times it is pointless to debate or try to reason with people who ask these questions. Occasionally the door will genuinely open and a meaningful conversation can be held. But the majority of the time, trying to talk to them in a way that will change their minds is fruitless.

At those times, when there is no reasoning with that person, the verse above is about all you can use.

Where were they when God laid the foundations of the earth? Where were they when he commanded the waters to pull back and create dry land? Where were they when He said “let there be light”, and there was light?

To these questions they will have no answer. Sometimes they need to know that what they think isn’t important, when compared to the big picture.

Sometimes they just need to know that God is bigger and mightier than they are and that His ways don’t always make sense to our logical minds.

There are things that happen that we will never be able to explain away and things that happen that we will never understand or comprehend.

But that’s OK, because God is still God, whether we agree, understand, comprehend or not.
