Bible Verse of The Day – 12-6-14

Luke 4:33-34 (NKJV) 33 Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, 34 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”

We live in a world that is tangible… natural. We base so much of what we do on what we see.

But, what we fail to understand so many times is that most of what we see happening in the natural is the result of unseen things in the spiritual realm.

Every second of every day, there are invisible battles being fought between good and evil, angels and demons.

And whether we choose to believe it or not, we are part of that ongoing struggle between darkness and light.

Demons feared Jesus. They trembled at His presence and begged Him to leave them alone.

They should do no less when they see us, the children of God. Jesus said that if we believed, we could do even greater things than He did.

John 14:12 (NKJV 12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.

So it’s time for us to rise up! We need to use the armor and the weapons that God gave us and go to battle for the kingdom. We are not meant to sit idly by as evil pervades this world that we live in.

Weapons were intended to be offensive, not just for defense. So let’s start using them and pushing the kingdom of darkness back!

Pray. Rebuke darkness. Bind demonic powers. Loose freedom and light!

Rise up and conquer, in Jesus’ name!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-5-14

Luke 6:40 (NKJV) 40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.

I was a teenager with a station wagon and it had a very big engine with a lot of power.

One day on my way home, I was going around a very sharp corner. The speed limit was around 50 mph on this road and I probably was going a little over that.

As I got to this sharp corner, I should have slowed down, but I wasn’t really thinking about that, I just wanted to get home. I was a teenager with a lot of power.

I didn’t slow down. I continued to keep the speed up. The back of that car started to sway and I almost lost control of it. It could have hurt me badly. It was pretty scary. But I made it safely home.

I have seen people get involved with other types of wheels, figuratively speaking, that have too much power, before they are ready for it, and it ruins them. For instance, someone may get hired for or promoted to a position they’re not ready for in a business.

Someone may get a position that they have strived for in church, simply because that’s what they wanted. But they’re not ready for it.

Children may be given more freedom or responsibility than they are able to handle, and it hurts them.

The important thing to do before handing a position over to someone, or before entering in to  a position, is to be sure that there has been proper training.

Ministers need to train up their congregation. Business owners need to train up their employees. Parents need to train up their children, etc.

Proper training may take time and effort, but it will bring great results to all those involved!

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-4-14

John 10:30 (NKJV) I and My Father are one.”

Know that God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, are ONE.

God wants us to honor His Son just as we would honor Him, not looking at Jesus Christ as being any less than Jehovah, El Shaddai, and the Alpha & Omega!

John 5:23 (NKJV) 23 “that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

God takes this to heart about His Son. In other words, if we look upon Jesus as being anyone other than God in the flesh, we don’t know the truth and if we do not know the truth we are not completely free.

John 8:32 (NKJV) 32 “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The truth is, Jesus Christ and the Father are ONE!!

If we read and learn about Jesus and the things He did on this earth, we’ll see that He demonstrated His Father’s heart. He walked in obedience. He walked in love and He sacrificed His life for us.

John 8:19 (NKJV) Then they said to Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.”

God is saying today, honor My Son, Jesus Christ. Know Him and follow His teachings. He and I are ONE! Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-3-14

Ezekiel 13:3 (NKJV) 3 Thus says the Lord God: “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!”

Nowadays we have some people that call themselves prophets or prophetesses, and they say and do things, supposedly in the name of Jesus Christ.

Some of them have a platform in mega churches and everyone seems to love them.

No matter how much we love our Pastor, Deacon, Priest, Leader, Teacher, Evangelist, or Prophet, etc., if they are operating from a wrong spirit and they are “off” in their teaching, we need to call it! They need to sit down and get themselves some help.

There is a thing called a spirit of divination.

Acts 16:16,17 (NKJV) Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. 17 This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.”

Now, what the girl in the verses above said was truth about Paul and Silas.

This spirit does speak things that sound right and appear to be right, on the surface. However, its motives are wicked, demonic and destructive.

It slithers into church meetings and we give it a voice. We let it stand at the pulpit and speak into the lives of the congregation. Why? Because it sounds and looks like the real deal on the surface.

But Paul knew, by the Spirit of God that lived in him, that the things being spoken by this girl were being spoken by a demonic spirit, and he called it out.

God will show us when something is off or it’s not right, if we let Him.

Acts 16:18 (NKJV) And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.

We can’t ignore the annoyed feeling we may get at times when something seems off. People are getting hurt by this spirit.

The church, as a whole, needs to come together and call out this spirit of divination and shut it down, in the Mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-2-14

1 Timothy 1;13 (NKJV) although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

How many of us today can share with Paul, knowing that we also did some pretty bad things in the days before we knew Christ?

But that day we cried out to God for salvation, through His Son Jesus Christ, in all His grace and mercy He forgave us and worked with us on changing our hearts.

It’s a process, isn’t it? It doesn’t just happen overnight. It takes time and an effort on our part to want to do what’s right. It’s a sacrifice and can be very challenging at times.

Keep trying. Keep pushing forward. God’s grace is abundant!

1 Timothy 1:14 (NKJV)14 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

Amen.

Bible Verse of The Day – 12-1-14

Joshua 18:3 (NKJV) 3 Then Joshua said to the children of Israel: “How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers has given you?

Go and possess the land.

What does that mean, exactly, to possess the land?

Possess: 1. to have or hold. 2. to seize and take control of. 3. to enter into and control firmly

To possess something implies and requires action on the part of the possessor.

Somehow, over the last several decades, or maybe even longer, the church has fallen into believing that God owes us something.

We have bought the terrible lie that says all we have to do is ask, and God will magically drop abundance into our laps.

We pray and ask God for breakthroughs but most of us have no idea what is required of us to have that breakthrough. So we just expect it to “fall from the sky”, and no work or effort will be required of us.

God took the Israelites out of Egypt and promised them a new land. He provided a way out of slavery, led them across the Red Sea and provided for their every need, guiding and directing them right up to the border of that promised land.

But then He told them to “go in and posses the land”. Go take it. Conquer the people there and make it your own. Work for it. I’ve led you here and carried you up until now. But now it’s your turn to labor!

So where are we at today? Are we standing at the edge of our promised land? Has God led us through the wilderness and now we’re just sitting down, praying for a breakthrough and waiting for it to fall into our laps?

No more, people of God! It’s time for us to rise up and possess the land that God has set before each of us?

What is your promised land? What is the breakthrough that you’ve been praying for? Are we so used to God providing for our every need that we are failing to take action and finish what He started?

It’s a new week. It’s time to rise up and go in and posses the land that God has led us to.

Possess the land, people of God. Possess the land!
